39 Land of Wrath.

Cristian expected another boring ride, hopefully with no enormous beast, but that thought shattered when he found himself free falling from the sky.

The violent wind whistled in his ear, and his hair fluttered wildly. To his shock, there wasn't a speck of dust on his clothes or, to be more specific, his clothes changed.

Right now, he looked like a medieval man who lived in the snowy mountains. Everything he wore was thick, comfy, and furry, but luckily his sword, gloves, and boots remained.

Cristian struggled to find balance mid-air but his efforts produced no rewards and he kept on falling with such speed that would turn him into meat paste when he reached land.

'Maybe it's like those movies where there's a lake,' he said inwardly while staring at the dark red clouds.

The moment he turned, Cristian quickly grabbed the opportunity to see where he might land and the sight wasn't pretty because his destination was right in a dense forest!

'there's no way I'll survive!' he screamed and thought of a move which Lia thought him and it was to control the air albeit a little.

'Here it goes!'

He bellowed inwardly and an explosive blast echoed around him, slowing down his fall, but the impact with the leaves and branches was a rough landing.

"Ugh!"

"Ah!"

Bam!

After hitting several branches that formed a canopy, hiding the sky, he slammed into the strangely dry ground.

With the canopy blocking sunlight, isn't the soil supposed to be moist?

"Ugh!" a muffled groan left his lips as he balled his hands, gathering dry sand and leaves in the process.

"Pu!" he spat out sand and slowly got to his feet, ignoring the text showing his health had dropped to 120.

His rough landing had taken 30 out of 150 and he could feel the pains throughout his body affirming the text before his retina.

[Congratulations, you have discovered "The Land of Wrath."]

[In this land flowing with a natural fire affinity. Fire Affinity +500!]

"What's this? Aren't you Origin? Because so far everything seems like you're the one behind it!" Cristian lost his composure and yelled at the system but it was useless as he received no response.

[Quest: Go to the sea of flames, slay the beast that lay within, and unlock your origin.]

[Caution: Beware of the forest walker; Luc de Haan for he dwells in this forest.]

[Hint: There might be a test.]

[Rewards: unknown.]

"Luc de Hann," he muttered that name with knitted brows. The moment he said that name, a red glow flashed by, but the time he looked around, there was nothing around him except mild sounds from the distance.

With Squinted eyes and perked ears, Cristian listened closely and figured out it was a clash.

If he had Fire ability, then he might be superpowered right now, but unfortunately, this was a land that favored flames and not decay.

'Wait.' he paused and looked at himself. After scanning his body, his eyes widened and Cristian faced the sky.

"Where is my pouch!" Bam!

His pouch fell from the sky and slammed his open mouth, making him grunt. "Thank you," he said 'gratefully' and strapped the pouch to his waist.

Unsheathing, Burning Fury, he lowered his body and moved toward the sounds. As he got closer, grunts slithered into his ears.

Cristian crouched behind a shrub, opened a small hole, and peeked. His iris dilated when he sighted a tall figure clad in a thick hood fighting a fanged tiger; 1.5 meters tall.

The figure wielded a short dagger but his strikes were weak and slow, so the tiger, which from its scars was a master of hunting, calmly bided its time, waiting for the figure that looked like a man to exhaust himself.

Cristian watched the battle while contemplating if he should help the man or not. At a point, he rubbed his chin, deep in thought, but his emerald eyes flashed when he noticed the tiger was trickish.

It was slowly making its way toward his spot. At first, he thought it was trying to corner its prey, but it became obvious that the tiger had caught his scent.

Well, he engaged in a bloody battle with zombies before coming here so the tiger must have caught his pungent odor.

[...]

[Black stripped fanged tiger]

[Name: none]

[Level: 29]

[Innate skills: savage bite, swipe, tail whip, lunge.]

Shing!

The sound of a sword leaving its sheath echoed, making the man covered in hood turn, but Cristian ignored him and dashed to the tiger which couldn't react to his abrupt attack.

"Die!" Cristian slashed downward, but the tiger proved to possess enviable agility, as it evaded and threatened him with a guttural growl.

"Humph!" with a snort, flames burst out of the blade and he swung it while pouring in ten points from his MP.

A fire arc cut deep into the tiger's back and it whimpered. Fear flashed through its eyes as it sought to escape, but Cristian wasn't going to let go of his meal.

Propelling his body forward, he raised his blade and slashed down with so much strength that even after cutting off the tiger's head, his blade sank deep into the ground.

His chest rose and fell and blood coated the length of his sword. "Thank you, brave warrior," an aged voice rang and Cristian turned to reply.

But the sight of the man froze him.
