Dashing Student-Chapter 1226: Karma and Retribution
Chen Nan really couldn’t figure out what matched the names Jue Mingzi and Gao Xue?
But seeing Gao Xue’s excited yet slightly crazed demeanor, he decided not to provoke this woman.
The actions of a crazy woman never fail to surprise.
After rescuing Li Songnian and the others, all the other miners were also freed, though their eyes were devoid of hope.
"Master, what should we do next? Go directly to kill Luo Tuo?"
Although she was a timid little girl, whenever she mentioned the name Luo Tuo, she exuded a murderous aura.
"We can’t attack directly, we’re all injured now. If something unexpected happens, it would be bad."
Chen Nan pondered for a moment, glanced at the overseers, then grabbed one directly, pointing towards Li Songnian and the others and asked, "Tell me, why didn’t Luo Tuo kill them?"
"Probably because he thought they could mine more Spirit Stones, and he also wanted to subdue them," the overseer replied timidly.
Chen Nan’s brows suddenly stretched out, and he laughed lightly, "In that case, I have a plan."
He patted his chest, awakening the slumbering King of Ten Thousand Gu: "Little snake, I’ll rely on you this time."
...
At the Island Master Mansion on Luoyue Island, an overseer arrived with a storage bag in hand, which contained the Spirit Stones excavated today.
"So soon today?" The guard at the door greeted the overseer, clearly familiar with him.
The overseer smiled and nodded, "Yes, I was afraid the Island Master would be impatient, and I have good news to tell the Island Master."
Quickly, the overseer arrived before the Island Master. At this moment, Luo Tuo was enjoying a massage from a beauty, sipping Jadescent Nectar, and eating Spirit Fruit, utterly at ease.
"Island Master, I have something to report."
Luo Tuo glanced at the overseer and nodded, "Go ahead, what’s the matter?"
"Replying to the Island Master, Li Songnian and Gao Xue wish to meet the Island Master. It seems they want to surrender," the overseer replied.
"Surrender?" Luo Tuo couldn’t help but laugh, "They finally realize that acknowledging me as their master is the right choice. A bunch of blockheads, only now do they see sense."
"Let them all come, since I’ll use them as dogs, I ought to put on a show."
"Yes, Island Master."
The overseer turned to leave but was called back.
"Hey, what about today’s Spirit Stones?"
Only then did the overseer remember, quickly handing over the storage bag. Luo Tuo took out a Spirit Stone, examining it closely, greed gleaming in his eyes.
"Alright, you may go." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
The overseer hurriedly left, but no one noticed a small snake, only about three inches long, appearing on the ground, inching closer to Luo Tuo along the wall’s edge.
Not long after, Gao Xue, Li Songnian, and the others arrived, still shackled, their chains clinking with each movement.
"Haha, you finally came around. I’ve been waiting for you for a long time." Luo Tuo stood up, presenting a warm demeanor.
When the former Island Master Zhong Fei was still around, Luo Tuo was one of his subordinates, so he was quite familiar with Li Songnian, Gao Xue, and the others.
But since Luo Tuo came later, there wasn’t much sentiment between him and Li Songnian, and he even sensed that Li Songnian and others looked down on him.
The expressions of Gao Xue and the others were quite unnatural, but they managed to force a smile.
"We used to be stubborn, hoping the Island Master wouldn’t mind."
Seeing those who once looked down on him now groveling, Luo Tuo felt a great sense of accomplishment surge within his heart, but he had no intention of unshackling Gao Xue and the others.
"Of course, I won’t blame you. Island Master Zhong Fei was so old-fashioned, stubbornly mining only a few Spirit Stones each year, how pitiful to watch."
"But don’t worry, as long as I’m here, I’ll share some of the Spirit Stones we mine with you."
When he mentioned Zhong Fei, the expressions of Li Songnian and the others turned sour, but Luo Tuo remained indifferent, turning back to his seat.
"I know you aren’t convinced by me, but I don’t care. From now on, your job is to find people to mine, strive to empty this vein sooner, then we’ll take others’ Spirit Veins."
"You’ll come to learn, in this world, only power is real, Spirit Stones are real, and as for emotions, they’re the most fake!"
Gao Xue and others saw a small snake crawling to Luo Tuo’s location, so they stopped pretending, their expressions suddenly becoming murderous.
"Luo Tuo, you traitor, utterly unrepentant, you’re just scum!"
Luo Tuo chuckled, "I knew you wouldn’t be so honest, but it’s alright, I won’t blame you. When I’ve made you mine for decades, you’ll see I am right."
"Even if you want to kill me, you should wait until I’ve unshackled you, right? You’re too impatient. You should learn from me; I hid under Zhong Fei’s nose for ten years before I could successfully ambush him!"
He seemed to wish to provoke Gao Xue and others, wanting to see them infuriated yet helpless, but soon his expression froze.
Because Li Songnian and the others lightly tugged, their chains fell off. Wearing them back was only to lower Luo Tuo’s guard.
Before Luo Tuo could react, he suddenly felt a pain in his arm and quickly looked down, seeing a small snake biting hard on his arm.
He could clearly feel the snake injecting venom into his body.
"Damn it, was this all part of your plan?"
Luo Tuo roared, tearing off the snake and tossing it aside, immediately summoning a Flying Sword, slashing towards the snake.
The blade struck the snake’s scale, only sparking a few sparks without penetrating its defense, astonishing Luo Tuo.
"Luo Tuo, you reap what you sow. You poisoned Brother Zhong Fei back then, and now it’s your turn to taste poison. This is karmic retribution!" Li Songnian stepped forward and shouted.
The turn of events was beyond Luo Tuo’s expectations. He snorted coldly, "With just you trying to kill me? Even poisoned, you aren’t my match. I’ve been far too lenient with you!"
Gigantic Mana roared forth, instantly forming a vast ocean above his head, crashing forward, where a huge whale surfaced in the ocean.
Luo Tuo pointed forward, and the whale opened its bloody maw, swallowing Gao Xue and others whole, the turbulent seawater battering their bodies.
Their cultivation was no match for Luo Tuo, and with their injuries unhealed, they were utterly powerless.
Yet, Luo Tuo didn’t continue attacking, instead turning to break through the roof, attempting to escape.
But what awaited him was a fist.
