Chapter 1239: Chapter 1239: The Just Execution

Hanging in the cave, pieces of human skin fluttered in the breeze. The sound of waves crashing against the rocks echoed inside, mingling with the ghostly white moonlight, creating a ghastly and terrifying scene.

Human bones could be seen everywhere in the cave. The deeper you went, the stronger the stench became.

Chen Nan couldn’t hold back any longer; just as he was about to make a move, his Divine Sense suddenly swept ahead and discovered a few cultivators still alive deeper inside the cave, though now bound in place.

They must have also taken the Immortal Extinction Powder, appearing extremely weak and powerless. Despite being cultivators, they couldn’t even break free from a single rope.

"It’s you, you beast! We pitied you and used you as a guide, yet you dared to harm us!" Among the restrained cultivators, the only female shouted angrily upon seeing Lin Feng.

Lin Feng wasn’t irritated at all; he simply tossed Chen Nan beside them and chuckled, "My apologies to you all. Master Jiao Yan is in a good mood today, and he might just eat you all tonight, granting you some form of release."

"Pah!" The woman was full of fury. "Is it a release you want? You traitor deserve death; if you kill me, my father will not spare you!"

Lin Feng sighed, his eyes filled with mockery. "Girl, save your energy; no matter how foul your curse, you will not escape being eaten."

Chen Nan pondered quietly. Listening to the woman’s words, it seemed they had also chosen Lin Feng as a guide, and their process was much the same: tricked with the Immortal Extinction Powder and subsequently sent here as blood sustenance.

The island’s seemingly warm attitude toward outsider cultivators now made sense—just a means to keep them around.

Realizing this sent chills down Chen Nan’s spine. This island was like a complete operation chain where any cultivator stepping foot was merely a meal for the Demon Clan!

The young man with a gentle face sitting beside the woman tried to remain calm. "Lin Feng, I know you are being coerced. We are disciples of Sea Wave Island. Release us and you shall be greatly rewarded!"

"Oh? You have such a high standing?" Lin Feng feigned surprise.

The woman proudly raised her head. "See our power now? Let us go quickly, or when our sect arrives, you shall all be eradicated!"

Pretending to be unconscious, Chen Nan couldn’t help but roll his eyes. This woman was extraordinarily foolish, missing the sarcasm in Lin Feng’s words entirely.

Clearly, they were sheltered flowers, pampered and unaware of the true cruelty of the Cultivation World, deluded by self-indulgent dreams.

Indeed, Lin Feng burst into laughter after hearing them. "Missy, you’re too naive! Would I really release you to invite trouble for myself?"

"Do you know why I chose you? Because you look so stupid that I almost feel sorry deceiving you."

These words were like daggers, causing the woman to struggle madly. "Shameless scoundrel, I’ll kill you!"

"Hmph, just wait to die while I go claim my reward. To me, you’re nothing but walking Spirit Stones."

Laughing, Lin Feng walked out of the cave, but not without provoking the woman one last time.

After he left, the woman couldn’t hold back her fear any longer and burst into tears. "Wah! Senior brother, are we really going to be eaten?"

"Rest assured, junior sister, our disappearance cannot go unnoticed, and our sect will surely come to save us!" her senior brother tried to comfort her as best as he could.

Chen Nan ignored them, quietly lying on the ground, waiting.

After a long time, the woman cried herself to sleep on her senior brother’s shoulder, but he had no intention of sleeping, his eyes bloodshot with fear.

His comforting words to his junior sister were only to console her. Even if their sect discovered their absence, it would be difficult to trace them here. If no surprises arose, they were doomed.

Just then, footsteps could be heard approaching the cave entrance, growing clearer and closer.

"Haha, I can’t wait to feast. Let me see which one to eat first?"

The manager’s voice came, yet unlike his previous respect and humility, now replaced with smugness.

Gazing hungrily at the captured human cultivators, he couldn’t help but salivate.

Chen Nan’s sense proved correct: the manager was indeed a member of the Demon Clan, seemingly from the Jiao Long Clan, exactly who Lin Feng referred to as Jiao Yan.

The woman was startled awake, helplessly watching Jiao Yan pick one of her fellow sect members and sink his teeth into his neck. Blood sprayed out, splattering on her face.

Jiao Yan reveled in being doused with blood and began gnawing at the human with great enjoyment.

"Ah! Don’t eat me, don’t eat me..."

The sight petrified the woman, paralyzing her with horror, until she finally shrieked, utterly terrified, even losing control of her bladder.

Chen Nan sighed faintly within, remaining still.

Seeing the woman wet herself, Jiao Yan lost interest, waving a hand disdainfully to fan his nose, turning to look at Chen Nan, who remained "unconscious" not far away.

"I’ll eat him first, then. Judging by his robust vitality, perhaps he can make me stronger!"

Jiao Yan reached Chen Nan, casually grabbing him and opening his cavernous mouth wide to bite down, intending to devour Chen Nan’s head first.

At that moment, Chen Nan suddenly snapped his eyes open. With a deadly glare, the Sword Chenyuan mysteriously appeared in his hand, its blade enveloped by lightning serpents and burning with flames. He slashed fiercely toward Jiao Yan!

Swish!

Two streaks of cold light flashed, striking Jiao Yan’s chest from such close range that evasion was impossible.

Blood spurted out, and Jiao Yan staggered back, an "x" shaped wound opening his chest almost to his entrails.

Though Chen Nan quickly retreated, his face was solemn, for he felt immense resistance when his sword struck Jiao Yan.

If not for the Sword Chenyuan’s hefty weight combined with his astounding strength, breaking through Jiao Yan’s defense would have been impossible.

"You damn human, daring to wound me? Die!"

In a furious rage, the injured manager’s body began to swell, transforming into a massive serpentine creature over five zhang long.

Along his underside were four dragon claws, each robust beyond measure, while his massive tail lightly swiped, reducing struck stones to dust.

Most significantly, he was covered with a layer of dark scales, hard as armor, and his face morphed into that of a menacing and majestic Jiao Long.

The cave seemed to tremble under his enormous form, rocks shifting and shaking, as Jiao Yan opened his gaping maw, viciously lunging at Chen Nan!
