Chapter 101: Awakening Through Lust and Possession

Three kobolds rushed, their pickaxes raised to swing at the Heiress.

But their pickaxes sank harmlessly into the red fabric of her dress, no blood, no reaction, as the Heiress calmly raised her war axe.

Slash!

Two heads fell, one body sliced unevenly in half, an imperfect strike that made Rosana click her tongue.

"That’s twenty-three for me already," Rosana slung a waraxe on her shoulder, her gaze darting at Lila. "And you?"

Lila’s brows twitched, Mel’s presence lingered behind her like a gentle pressure as Lila raised her hand. "<Snow Lance>."

Not a shout, but with a calm, indifferent voice, three icicles of ice and snow shot forward, breeze howling of an early winter as they lodged into three kobolds’ heads.

As their lifeless bodies fell, fragments of ice spread as the icicles fluttered off like snowflakes, leaving behind faint traces of blood tinged with ice-blue.

"Eighteen." Lila squinted at the bloody arc beside Rosana left by her swing - a red crescent moon that matched her crimson dress.

She scoffed. "Don’t pollute my Mel’s eyes with your brute-like method."

"Oh really?" Mel’s eyes gleamed. "I thought the color matched perfectly. Impressive, Miss Rosana."

The Heiress raised a brow. "Oh, an empty compliment."

"It is, but it’s my aesthetic sense that counts." Despite Lila glaring daggers at the front, Mel’s lips curled into a foxy smile. "Don’t you think a hunter should know a prey’s taste from the inside out?"

Mel’s fingers brushed over her chest as a faint blush spread across her face. "So that she will properly be devoured later?"

Rosana’s eyes twitched, the kobolds screaming from behind as they rushed in for a sneak attack.

Yet in a smooth motion, she dismissed her battleaxe to summon a sword, before turning to swipe a perfect arc across the kobolds’ necks.

Three heads fell, this time to her satisfaction.

"Twenty-six." She muttered, voice low enough to hide her craziness, yet high enough for her prey to hear. "I’ll remember your words, Mel."

Only one this time, huh?

A serious thought crossed Mel’s mind, her strategic mind to capture targets put to use.

Throughout her ten years of courting Lila, when favourability for a target began increasing in a smaller interval, it usually meant she was nearing a cap.

Until the target’s route was further unlocked, with more of her past or trauma exposed.

Her eyes narrowed as she petted the grumpy Lila. "Relax, relax! It’s only praise here and there."

"You speak as if you didn’t praise other girls daily." Lila pouted. "Why don’t you praise me as well?"

Mel winked. "I’d do more if you screamed louder for me at night, soft and slow, just as you like it."

"Mel-"

Lila’s face flushed, her blush darkening beneath her watery eyes, as she waved her hand in the air.

Cold breeze stirred on their uniforms, as Maria, Rosana, and Mel collectively frowned-

Just before the wind cleaved through the air.

Strangely, it passed through them without cold, yet as they brushed against the remaining kobolds, ice consumed them in an instant.

Six ice towers stood firm, their rough hides swallowed by the frost, as the crystals on their bodies were coated in bitter chill.

Mel’s eyes widened slightly, before her expression softened upon meeting Lila’s again as she strode towards her.

Then, she stammered with her brows knitted together. "Try..."

Mel tilted her head, unsure whether to focus on Lila’s blush or how she dismissed her sudden display casually.

Did she even realize she hadn’t cast a spell, but simply released her ice mana and froze them without effort?

"Try?" Mel let out a chuckle.

"Try..." Lila fidgeted with her fingers, awkward under Mel’s cheerful gaze. "Try to keep bed matters between us next time, alright?"

Mel purred an amused hum as Lila’s murmur echoed in her ears.

"Hehe." She cupped Lila’s cheek. "As long as I’m still allowed to devour you in public, I’ll be fine with it."

"Mmm..."

Lila nodded with all her strength, and as if sympathising with her, cracks began forming along the ’ice towers’, like a tear slicing through frozen glass.

Then they shattered as Lila hung her head, still pouting with a dazed look.

"Lila?" Mel’s hands caressed Lila’s cheek. "Something wrong?" fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Her hand trailed from Lila’s cheekbone down to her chin, gently lifting it.

Their gazes locked with each other, one concerned, the other heated.

"I’m sorry, Mel..."

Lila’s memory was set adrift, of how Mel pulled her down as soon as they met again.

At the same time, the adrenaline of the burst of mana she had just realised set her lungs in shivers.

Her hearbeat raced, misty eyes narrowing against the spilled-out desire.

"Please..." She breathed out. "Please kiss me more..."

Lila asked, yearning to be embraced again.

As silly giggles slipped from Lila’s lips, Mel’s heart warmed at such a love-addicted Lila again.

Without words, her index finger tapped her chin before lifting her head slightly and leaning in for a tender kiss.

It lasted for a second without a tongue as Mel tilted her head back, their foreheads touching with their blushes smearing on their faces.

"Want more?" Mel nuzzled her forehead against Lila’s. "I’ll reward you more if you do well on this trip, as a bonus."

Oh, and also five. Can’t forget the punishment game.

Mel licked her lips as she leaned back, before staring back at the Knight and Senior, their figures shaded under the tree.

She blinked, a little exasperated.

She didn’t recognize the senior. The only one she knew of was the Second Princess-

And she imagined her with Selaria now, if she was as responsible as she believed.

But the Holy Knight was a different story.

The protruding bulge, that screamed insecurity beneath the steel armor, was all too recognisable for Mel.
