Chapter 4365 - 3458: Midnight Sons (20)

The group arrived at the space station. It was also Shiller's first time visiting the repaired space station, and it looked the same as before, with no noticeable changes.

However, there were noticeably more people working here. Everywhere you looked, you could see staff in uniforms. Moreover, there were quite a few aliens who obviously weren't staff, and some people who worked in other parts of the Solar System.

After entering, they first passed through the security check. The staff were accustomed to their odd attire, activated a machine to scan them, and then checked the weapons they held—primarily focusing on the long wand in Shiller's hand—before letting them proceed.

Upon entering the space station, even Stark was a bit confused. There were eight passages in the main hall, and he didn't know where to catch the shuttle, so he randomly grabbed a staff member to ask.

"Which station are you heading to?" asked the male employee holding a vacuum cleaner. "There's one shuttle to Neptune today and another to Mercury. The Neptune shuttle is about to depart."

"We want to go to Jupiter..."

"Then you should take the shuttle to Neptune. Go that way, hurry, it's departing in about ten minutes..."

Stark quickly rushed in the direction pointed out to him, with Shiller and Peter following behind. After running through the passage for a while, they entered a new hall. Here, every staff member had a staff badge hanging from their necks.

"You're here to catch the shuttle, right? Follow me! This way!" A staff member came running, leading them in a certain direction and saying, "The teleportation portal closes in five minutes, hurry up!"

They raced through another passage, turned a corner, and in a room with "Neptune" written on it, they saw a teleportation portal. The group hurriedly entered the portal and found themselves on a closed platform floating in space.

Looking out through the window, it was clear they were neither in the space station nor close to Earth. This was likely a platform specifically built to dock escort ships.

Shiller recalled that the Kree escort ships had very advanced gravity cancellation systems which generally didn't affect surrounding celestial bodies. However, even the most advanced human space stations were too small and outdated compared to Kree Empire technology, and a gentle touch could dismantle them. Positioning the platform further away was likely for safety reasons.

The spaceship decelerated from afar, and it took about five minutes to dock after appearing. The announcement sounded oddly familiar.

"Hello, arriving at the next stop—Earth Space Station. Please take your belongings and exit through the backdoor, thank you."

The first announcement was in Chinese, followed by English, Latin, and the official Asgard language, ancient Norwegian.

The cabin door opened, and the floating platform moved directly towards the entrance beneath the escort ship.

Shiller had thought they were the last to arrive, but unexpectedly, an expert appeared. Just as the teleportation portal closed, a silver flash streaked by, and a figure carrying bags upon bags appeared on the platform.

"Phew... made it just in time."

"Pietro?" Stark turned back in surprise and asked, "How are you here too?"

"Oh, heavens, that's a question I should be asking you. Where are you headed?"

"We're going to Jupiter. What about you?"

"Neptune Star Port. I have to deliver something there." Pietro lifted the items in his hands and said, "The Chinese people need to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, but they can't make mooncakes there. For some special ceremonial reason, I have to deliver mooncakes to them."

"Is this some method to maintain employee psychological health?" Stark asked, shaking his head in slight confusion. "Are those mooncakes really necessary?"

"That I don't know. It's my job," Pietro sighed, "Luckily, I made it in time, or I would've missed it."

By this time, the platform's doors were already open, and they all walked inside. Pietro pointed in one direction and said, "The cabins for mid-journey disembarkation are that way. I'm going to the terminal station cabins, so I'll head off first. Goodbye."

Stark glanced in the direction Pietro pointed and saw quite a few people leaving from there, probably getting off at their stop.

While walking towards the cabin, Shiller examined the internal structure of the spaceship. He had only been on board once when acquiring these ships, but it was completely different back then.

Nowadays, you couldn't even tell that this Kree escort ship was a non-human civilization creation. The thing looked like an oversized cruise ship, with similar decor and cabin structures.

Upon reaching the cabin door, Stark and his group presented their identification documents. After verification, they were about to proceed when staff stopped them.

"Sorry, sir, the mecha you brought exceeds the cabin's volume limit, and they need to be sent to the cargo hold. Would you like to take them there yourself, or should we help you move them?"

"Why is this so troublesome," Stark couldn't help but complain. "These aren't much bigger than humans; just let them sit in the cabin, can't you?"

Before he could say much, two kids rushed out of the cabin, screaming at Stark.

"Iron Man! It's Iron Man! Oh my gosh, we're seeing Iron Man on the spaceship! Quick, give us an autograph!!"

Stark was also quite surprised and said, "Why are there kids on the spaceship? Aren't family members not allowed in space work?"

A couple hurried over too. Upon seeing them, Stark understood—they were Asgardians.

Human minors were indeed not permitted to participate in space work, not even mutants. But Asgard didn't have this restriction. Although tourism from Earth to Asgard was still not open, many Asgardians worked in Midgard. They were allowed to bring family along.

"You know me?" Stark asked.

"Of course! You are the most famous Earthling! I even saw your mecha in the Fairy Palace museum! Please give us an autograph!"

The two kids obviously grew up on Earth and were deeply influenced by Earth culture, shouting for Stark's autograph and wanting to touch his mecha.

If it were ordinary human children, touching wouldn't be a big deal, but these kids were of the God Clan. Stark didn't quite dare let them touch the mecha. Although the mecha's structural strength was decent, it couldn't withstand Divine Power. These kids pinching the mecha's arm would probably be like pinching a cookie.

"Sorry." The mother hurried over and pulled the kids back, saying, "Is this Mr. Stark? We're diplomats from the Midgard Embassy. These are my son and nephew."

The admiring glances from the two kids greatly satisfied Stark's vanity. He asked the staff for paper and a pen, signed autographs for them, and even gave out a small drone with the Iron Man logo. The two children cheered and ran back.

Stark went to send the mecha to the cargo hold, while Shiller and Peter entered the cabin.

"Doctor, I wanted to ask earlier, why are you dressed like this?"

"Keep your voice down, address by job title when working. Call me Moon Knight."

Shiller didn't expect to hide his identity from Peter anyway. After all, Peter was present when the Superhero Registration Act was filed. He knew Moon Knight's real identity.

Even if he didn't know, as the superhero who spent the most time with Shiller, Peter would undoubtedly be able to recognize him as soon as he spoke.

But Peter was likable precisely because of this. Even if he realized it, he didn't make a fuss and expose him on the spot, rather waited until they were alone.

Shiller briefly explained the plan to him. Peter nodded and said, "So after persuading the majority of superheroes not to be superheroes, you're planning to become one yourself?"

Shiller suddenly found Peter not as likable.

Stark soon returned, entering the cabin and sitting down. The cabin was quite spacious, but also looked somewhat familiar.

On the side near the porthole were single-person tables, and next to them was a walkway. Across the walkway were sleeping berths. Yet, instead of a wall on the other side of the berths, there were two facing rows of double tables, followed by another berth row, repeating this pattern further down, so Shiller couldn't clearly see how many tiers there were.

Since they were getting off mid-journey, they chose one of the middle double tables to sit. There wasn't much to see during cosmic flight.

This spaceship capable of superluminal travel was truly overkill for cruising within the Solar System. Without warp, it wasn't traveling too fast. It took just over an hour to get from the Near-Earth Space Station to Jupiter.

Shiller even started pondering the necessity of that Asgardian couple flying on a spaceship. He had seen Thor's usual flying speed, which was about twice as fast as this ship. They could have arrived sooner by flying themselves, probably bringing the kids to prevent them from flying around wildly.

When disembarking, Stark had to go to the cargo hold to retrieve luggage. Shiller and Peter got off first and then boarded a small ship at Jupiter's moon Outpost.

Yet unfortunately, the small ship was quite uncomfortable, not only cramped but also very bumpy. Halfway through, the trio couldn't stand it and just flew out themselves.

Fortunately, the docking point wasn't far from Jupiter's moon, and there were no speed limits, reaching it in just a few minutes. The Outpost was located near Asgard Impact Crater Plain, with nothing much to see but countless craters and ridges. There was a thin atmosphere, so visibility wasn't far, and it was desolate as far as the eye could see.

Peter stomped his foot and tapped the ground beneath him, saying, "The view of Jupiter's moon from this angle is indeed quite peculiar."

"I've been saying, you should get out more," Stark replied while walking and looking back, "Those experiments are important, but there's nothing like firsthand field research."

"I'm not exactly an astronomy expert," Peter spread his hands and said, "If I could, I'd want to see inside cells."

"Then go ask Dr. Pym for equipment," Stark said, knocking on the Outpost's door, adding, "By the way, how has he been lately?"

"He's been involved in the Andromeda Galaxy's large Cerebro construction, not sure if he's back," Peter shook his head and said, "Once he's back, we'll probably have to hear him boasting for months about the newest breakthroughs."

The Outpost door opened, and the person coming out was evidently surprised, not understanding why these people hadn't come by ship. But upon seeing Stark, they wore a look of sudden understanding.

"We've received your message," the staffer said, shaking hands with Stark, "Please come in. Would you like a tour of the Outpost?"

"Absolutely," Peter said with enthusiasm, "I remember there should be an Outpost satellite here that I helped design, let's go check it out."
