Chapter 4369 - 3462: Midnight Sons (24)

Finally arrived underground. Shiller heard the buzzing of the equipment. He thought his guess was right; the Energy system hub should be here.

The underground guards were very strict. As soon as Shiller stepped out of the elevator, he heard footsteps from the end of the corridor and quickly ran in the other direction. However, there was another patrolling Dark Elf there too.

Shiller hesitated briefly and just charged past the Dark Elf in front. The opponent immediately raised his gun and fired. Shiller transformed into a beam of Moonlight to dodge the bullets, leading the two pursuers around a corner to another corridor.

Just bursting into this corridor, Shiller realized something was wrong, because it was also a door at the end, and he didn't have a card key.

Shiller calmly rushed to the end, flipped over using the wall, and dodged the Dark Elf's stab. After jumping behind him, he punched the back of his head.

"Bang," with the sound, the opponent staggered, and Shiller took the opportunity to snatch the gun from his hand with a flash of light.

Just as he put his finger on the trigger, he heard two "beep beep" sounds, a familiar prompt sound came.

"Damn it!"

After cursing, Shiller smashed the opponent's head with the gun. A few "bang bang bang" later, the Dark Elf was completely motionless.

The Dark Elf who was chasing also rushed over. Shiller swung that gun tied with a flash of light, smashing directly onto the opponent's chest.

"Bang!"

The opponent staggered back two steps. Taking the opportunity, Shiller rushed forward, wrapped the cloak around him, and knocked him to the ground. Then, dodged in front, he smashed his fist onto the opponent's nose.

"Ouch!"

Having dealt with two Dark Elves, Shiller didn't forget to search for card keys on them. He managed to find three cards, but not one could open the door at the end of the passage.

"Do you think this might be one of the Dark Elf's defense methods?"

"I think you're just unlucky."

"Impossible, I'll definitely find it next time."

After speaking, Shiller returned to the previous corridor. As he heard there should be two patrolling Dark Elves in another corridor ahead, he quickly reached the corner of the wall and again when people turned the corner, extended his arm and tightly strangled.

After smothering another Dark Elf, Shiller searched him and found a card, but it was one he already had - an elevator card.

After dropping the other patrolling guard unconscious, he found two more cards but still couldn't open the door at the end of the previous passage.

Fortunately, among these cards, one could open the door to another passage on this level. After swiping the card to enter, Shiller had no patience to hide himself anymore.

He already decided that after completing this mission, he would blow this damned God's Temple up. As long as all the Dark Elves were dead, no one would know he ever infiltrated.

Finally, he entered the equipment room. There were many operation panels here. Shiller began to study which lever was the power cut-off.

This time, he didn't move recklessly because he had already discovered why this damned race could not break out from their dimension.

He should have realized long ago that any race that can evolve to be unable to tolerate stellar radiation can survive is due to Odin's intervention, not changing their crappy essence.

Shiller started taking photos of each operation panel and sent them to Loki for identification. Loki was becoming increasingly curious about what exactly Shiller was doing.

"Which one is the main switch to cut off the energy?"

"None of them."

"?"

"This should be their life-support system control room. Why are you here again?"

"Isn't this the Energy system hub???"

"No," Loki replied, "The elevator panel clearly states that the energy hub is on the 14th floor."

Shiller took out the photos he had taken before and took a look, and couldn't see where the sign was. So he sent another question mark to Loki.

Loki resent the photo he had previously sent him, and circled a spot next to it.

Shiller looked closely; wasn't this the floral pattern below the elevator buttons?

"This is the language of the Dark Elves," Loki seemed to know what he was puzzled about, and sent another message, "There are indeed quite a few turns."

Shiller zoomed the image to the maximum, looked carefully, and realized that these patterns indeed had some rules, not just for decoration but conveying some information.

Shiller sighed and took out the previously accumulated card keys that couldn't open doors, holding these cards in his hand as if ready to play poker.

This kind of security approach was simply low-end and crude. But just such a crude security approach successfully stopped him.

But he can't blame himself, agents are just that dense.

Upon carefully examining the card keys, Shiller discovered that below the threshold were also those types of vine-like words, which should represent numbers.

He didn't have the patience to compare each one, so he directly entered the elevator and pressed the button to the top floor.

At this moment, Loki sent another message: "Are you on Jupiter now? I'm done. Shall I come over to find you?"

"Don't come!" Shiller only sent this one sentence and accompanied it with three angry red faces emojis.

The elevator reached the top floor, Shiller walked out. There were quite a few guards here as well, and the temperature had risen significantly, signifying the energy hub was on this floor.

Shiller took care of two more guards, and found several more card keys on them, tried each one, but still couldn't unlock the passage.

"Where are you now?" he sent a message to Loki.

"On the way," the other party replied.

Just as the message was received, a magic glow appeared behind Shiller. Turning around, he saw a dark-haired girl in a white dress standing in the dark corridor.

"Quickly, get this damned door open!" Shiller pointed to the door beside him.

Slowly, Loki with hands behind his back walked over. He stood by the door, then shifted two steps to the right, placing his hand on part of the pattern on the door. A second later, it lit up, and the door opened.

"Doctor, is there a possibility that this pattern means 'press and hold to open'?"

Shiller was speechless. Looking at the card keys in his hand and then at Loki, he said, "What's going on here? What does that prompt sound mean?"

"Adjust the position and try again."

"What is the necessity of these card keys?"

"Of course there is. Mainly to guard against people like you who infiltrate."

"Well, they did guard against me."

After speaking, Shiller grabbed his long wand and entered the room. Loki followed behind him, asking, "Why did you suddenly want to become a superhero?"

"To adapt to my updated system and to investigate some matters. Also, don't call me Doctor."

"Alright. What's your codename?"

"Moon Knight."

"Moon Knight? Doesn't sound too auspicious. Aren't you trying to follow some knightly code?"

"Yes, more accurately, the superhero spirit."

"What is the superhero spirit?"

"Uh... it's just things like justice, resilience, unity."

"And thrift, simplicity, not seeking fame and fortune, not coveting wealth..."

"Well, the Prince of Asgard also requires fairness in law enforcement, integrity, diligence, so did you achieve it?"

Loki coughed twice and said: "Under normal circumstances, as long as nothing goes wrong, more or less, I did achieve it."

"Then I'll only be slightly greedy in certain extraordinary circumstances."

Shiller walked over to a central circular panel, saying, "Stop with the nonsense, come and see which lever can cut the power."

Loki came over, glanced at it and said, "None of them. But you can forcibly break, cut the lines connected here, which can cut off their life-support system's power supply."

"Really?" Shiller said skeptically, glancing at him.

Loki didn't waste words with him, a spell flew over, and the line was cut. Immediately, the entire base exploded like a boiling pot.

The shield disappeared, although the God's Temple's location wasn't directly facing the Sun, it was still subjected to stellar radiation. The Dark Elves, allergic to it, cried out miserably.

Furthermore, without cooling measures, the internal temperature of the God's Temple quickly rose to levels unacceptable to most carbon-based life forms. Shiller and Loki, possessing magic, were unaffected, but most of the Dark Elves had no means to maintain their temperature and soon began dehydrating due to the high heat.

"I must go outside and save those few humans who became monsters," Shiller said, heading for the door.

"You really plan to be a superhero, huh?"

"I need them to take down Roxen Corporation," Shiller said, entering the elevator with Loki following behind.

"Regarding the Dark Elf issue, Asgard has to bear a certain responsibility," Loki spoke, "Their technology basically comes from Asgard. Because at that time Odin needed them to fight for Asgard."

Shiller shook his head, "Asgard will never step in to annihilate the Dark Elves. In this situation, there's no need to pursue whose responsibility it is."

"I do not approve of allowing this race's expansion behavior. But Thor believes that Asgard should not excessively interfere with the Nine Major Kingdoms' internal civilizations' natural evolution, otherwise it might destroy the diversity of civilizations, and possibly make civilizations complacent and slacken their defenses."

Shiller glanced at him and said, "Are you specially here to explain to me?"

"Quite the opposite, I'm here to keep an eye on you," Loki said irritably, "Because neither I nor Thor approve of letting you be. Otherwise, the diversity of civilizations can't be maintained."

Shiller pouted and said, "I'm just an ordinary superhero who can't even press an elevator button..."

"Remember what you did when you said you were ordinary? Do you think I'd fall for your tricks again?"

"What did I do? Maintained the relationship between you and your brother, making you two the most affectionate brothers in all the Multiverse? Or did I help Asgard land smoothly, making Odin the only God King in all the Multiverse to peacefully retire?"

"Yes, yes, you did accomplish that, but let's not talk about how you did it, right?"

"And you did become the Prince of Asgard. As for how you became one, let's not mention it either."

"Was this Prince position something I wanted? Wasn't it because..."

"Seems like you want to be the Queen of Gods."

"I don't!" Loki shouted.

"Then maybe you want to inherit Laufey's throne, should I mention it to Thor?"

"I don't. I'm not familiar with Laufey!"

"Then Jotunheim will be mine."

"No, it's the legacy my dear father left me, what's it got to do with you?"

"Do you even know where your dear father's skull is?"

"...Huh?"
