Death… And Me-Chapter 4175: Interesting Proposal
"Do you expect me to say something?" Mamato didn’t take long to understand the situation he was in. "I’m sorry to disappoint you. But my soul has a seal to prevent this very kind of thing."
"Ah, don’t worry. I’ve removed that already," Rean said, patting the beast’s head as if he were a pet.
"Uh?!" Mamato was taken aback and quickly checked his soul. Sure enough, the seal wasn’t there anymore. He didn’t even know when Rean removed that. "How’s that possible..."
Well, the twins’ group actually had two options. The first was simply using Sister Orb while inside the Dimensional Realm. The other was Rean and Roan’s Light and Dark Elements. Rean had done similar things before. What mattered was that the seal was already gone by the time Rean healed Mamato.
Then...
*Tud!*
Mamato dropped his head on the floor. "Please, help my race! I’ll do anything!"
Roan narrowed his eyes. "Help? Can you see this puppet here? He needs a new body."
Mamato looked at the puppet, and only now that he paid closer attention did he understand. "You... You are an Abyssal Beast!"
Aby confirmed. "Yes, although only my soul remains. I need a body, and you are on the way."
Mamato thought about it for a moment, and a look of determination appeared on his face. "I’m willing to just leave my body on my own for you to take it. I will not fight back when you try to possess me. You can even devour my soul for all that I care. I just ask that you help the rest of our race once you do it."
Aby found it strange. Back in his time, the Abyssal Beasts didn’t care that much about each other. "What exactly are you, some kind of martyr? Why would you care about the rest?"
Mamato showed an expression of surprise. "It’s my race, and we are imprisoned by the Werdlem Empire. It is only natural that I want to help them! Shouldn’t you want the same thing?"
"Hmph! Nice try. You couldn’t care less about other Abyssal Beasts. That’s in our nature," Aby didn’t buy it even for a second.
However, Roan did. "He is not lying."
"What? Were you the type to believe these sob stories?" Aby asked back, still not believing.
Of course, Roan relied on no such thing. "Whether you want to believe me or not is up to you. But I can guarantee he is not lying. Of course, I’m not saying you shouldn’t take his body. You absolutely should, as we need you for our plan to work."
Roan then turned to Mamato. "This thing about helping your race is not part of our plans, but it could indirectly help your race. How much do you know about the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble?"
"The Bubble?" Aby was confused. "It’s the thing that protects us from the threats from outside, isn’t it? What about that?"
Sure enough, Mamato only knew the official story available in the Werdlem Network. It didn’t matter, though.
"Our plan is very simple: take the Werdlem Empire Bubble down. It could lead to your race being rescued, it could lead to its destruction, we don’t know. But it is a fact that once it is down, everything in the Werdlem Empire will change forever," Roan explained. "So, what we need to know from you is if there is any information you can give us that could be of any use."
Roan had no intention to go out of his way to release the Abyssal Beasts. In fact, he already had a plan to get a fragment of Aby into the Great Void Black Hole. However, extra information never hurt anyone. Mamato wouldn’t leave the Celestial Soul Realm anymore either. At least not until they are done in the Werdlem Empire.
Mamato found it hard to believe that the twins’ group could really pull it off. But then again, the entire Werdlem Empire seemed desperate to deal with them, so perhaps... "There is one thing that perhaps can help you. The hidden Abyssal Paths."
That immediately caught everyone’s attention. "Tell us more."
Turns out that the Abyssal Paths used with the Great Void Shifters weren’t the only Abyssal Paths available. Well, that was to be expected since the Abyssal Beasts were around for a very long time. Many of those paths were destroyed through orders of the Werdlem Empire. Only the paths that have or at least had Great Void Shifters before were kept, or some small ones that didn’t cross universes.
However, over the years under the Werdlem Empire’s command, the Abyssal Beasts worked on something else. Every time they were required to create a new Abyssal Path between Universes, they actually left fragments of themselves in other places. Once the Abyssal Path for the Werdlem Empire was created, they returned to their ’home’ in the Starway area.
From there, they worked on connecting with their fragments and created new paths that the Werdlem Empire didn’t know about. There weren’t many, though. Many fragments were left to create new paths, but doing such a thing under the Werdlem Empire’s nose was very risky, so even after all these years, only six were created. Each one led into a different-ranked universe, A, B, C, D, E and F. Since they all started from the Werdlem Universe, there was no need to create one in there.
"Wait!" Soltrex was the first one to understand what Mamato wanted. "Those paths... they lead straight to the Abyssal Beasts’ home, don’t they? You want us to go there and take them all with us!"
Mamato nodded. "Yes. Of course, I’m not saying you should do it for the goodness of your heart. There is a good reason you should take them and get rid of the seals in their souls. We have been preparing for a long time, you know? As long as you get at least a good portion of our race free, we can get all the Abyssal paths between the Werdlem Empire Universes to collapse! If you ever need to run away, the Empire definitely won’t be able to go after you without crossing the Great Void normally."
Roan was expecting some good information, but not that good. "That’s... a very interesting proposal."
