Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Funeral

Meggie of course knew why, it was his mother’s funeral tomorrow and he must want to be there.

However those two would certainly expect him to be there.

She sighed, " I’m afraid you don’t understand Adrian, if you fall into their hands, you’ll be done for."

Adrian turned towards her, " I’m not leaving, stop the car." Meggie continued driving and Adrian just opened the door and jumped out.

He landed on his feet and the inertia only forced him to take two steps forward then he continued walking.

Meggie stopped the car, " Are you crazy. Get in the car right now Adrian Lunar, we’re leaving."

Adrian felt his anger rise," Who the hell do you think are? I told you I’m not leaving."

Meggie took out a small sack with while powder. Adrian felt his nose itch from the stench of that powder.

It was like a really really strong pepper, he growled, his eyes turned silver, his hair grew longer and turned silver as well.

Meggie grew tense, she could sense he was really strong but even while looking at him she couldn’t recognise his species.

She knew it wasn’t an esper ability like the Espara have, he was most definitely a Fayera but of a species he didn’t know.

What she did know though was that he was strong and underestimating him would be a mistake.

" Get out of my way lady before things get ugly for you." Adrian growled.

" Sorry kid, I made a promise and I have no intentions of breaking it."

Adrian pounced on her moving so fast he became a shadow. Meggie threw the powder his way.

Adrian ran into it and felt it effecting his mind almost immediately. He felt drowsy and was about to fall then he roared and continued lunging at her.

Meggie realised her sleep powder was not as effected and casted a spell to support it.

" Somnum." As a witch of the alchemy covenant, her specialty was creating potions and other elixirs but she knew basic spells.

Most witch spells were in the tongue of the first lady, a language created by the first witch but the more simpler spells were in Latin.

Like the sleep spell she had just casted, if she had used a spell of the witches she might’ve put him to sleep immediately.

Unfortunately witch spells were not so easy to learn even for a witch, especially if they’re outside your own covenant.

However what she had just done was enough and Adrian fell asleep, his hair and eyes turned back to normal.

She dragged him into the car and drove off.

----------------------------------------------------------

Wolf and Vestro realised that Adrian was gone, they went to find Meggie to ask her to find him.

However they found her house empty and knew immediately that she had ran off.

" Should we chase after her?" Vestro asked while sucking a lollipop.

Wolf shook his head, " No, the boy is our priority and I think we’ll see him again tomorrow." He smiled.

As Meggie had suspected, Wolf also knew it was Adrian’s mother’s funeral tomorrow and expected him to show up.

----------------------------------------------------------

Adrian woke up with a splitting headache and when he opened his eyes the first face he saw was that of a beautiful woman with glasses.

He growled and lunged at her but hit an invisible wall. He looked down and saw a circle drawn around him.

" Protection magic, well a reversed version, you’re trapped inside."

He punched the invisible barrier but all it did was ripple. " Let me out of here." He growled at her with rageful eyes.

Meggie sighed, " Kid, I understand your anger and I know denying you from going to your mother’s funeral would just make things worse.

However you can go on one condition, if I’m coming with you."

Adrian had no idea to how respond to that, it was not like he had ever told her not to go.

" What are you?" He asked. That question caught her by surprise.

" You don’t know? Did your mother not tell you anything?" The mention of his mother made him squint his eyes.

" What do you mean?" He asked her. Meggie sighed.

" I guess she didn’t tell you, I’m a witch and so was your mother. We were from different covenants but she was a sister."

Adrian looked at her like she was crazy, " A witch? You think my mother was a witch?"

He almost laughed at her but Meggie didn’t mind.

" Yes, she was a divination witch to be more exact, one of the strongest ones I knew. Anyways, go to sleep, you might need your strength tomorrow."

Adrian lay on the sofa but he couldn’t sleep, partly because he’s a werewolf and also learning his mother was a witch was a bit much.

He didn’t know what couldn’t accept it but he just couldn’t picture that woman who raised him as a witch.

He wondered, if she was a witch, what did that make him and his sister? Those were questions for later.

He rested until morning, Meggie removed the barrier and he went to take a shower, they were in his old house.

His mother’s blood stains were still on the floor, his sisters scent still lingered in the air. He wore a nice suit that used to belong to his father.

It fit him now, they went to the funeral, it was uneventful. He watched as his mother’s corpse was lowered to the ground and buried.

He swore in his heart that he will have his revenge no matter what. He didn’t even realise it but he was clutching his fists to hard his claws came out and duh into his hands.

His blood fell to the ground, he only came to when Annie whispered his name with a worried voice.

He looked at her and smiled but a tear fell down his eye, she hugged him. The funeral proceeded until it was over.

Everybody left except him, Meggie, Annie and two other people. He continued standing there watching the grave with Annie by his side.

Meggie stood behind them watching the two people who drew closer. She clutched a tiny red ball in her hand ready to throw it at any moment.

" Adrian Lunar, can we have a word?" The man called him.

Adrian didn’t even turn to address them, he looked at Annie, " Go, I’ll find you later, there are things I need to take care of."

Annie hesitated, Meggie dragged her away and told her to go for now and so she did.

Adrian turned to address the two people, " Wolf and Vestro I presume, what can I help you with?"

Vestro played with a knife and grinned at him, " You’ve caused quite a ruckus here kid, we can’t have that."
