Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 15: Detective Lunar
Inside the building was an old woman who looked at them like they had three heads. More specifically Meggie.
The woman outstretched her hand and touched Meggie’s face. Meggie was confused but she did not pull back.
" You haven’t aged a single day." The woman whispered with a reminiscing look. " How long has it been?" She asked.
Meggie took the old woman’s hand. " I’m sorry but I’m not the person you think I am. I think that’s my grand mama.
I’m her granddaughter Meggie." The old woman looked saddened but turned around walked inside.
" Follow me." She didn’t say anything else to Meggie until they reached a locked room. She took out an old black key and opened the room.
Adrian immediately caught a scent similar to that of Meggie inside, infact the scent was almost identical but it was faint.
Whoever used this room had been gone for a long time. The room was dusty with books and scrolls everywhere.
The woman went to a safe and took out a key and gave it to Meggie. "I was told to give this to you should you ever come back." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
The old woman said, she still thought Meggie was her grandmother. " I’m really not the person you think I am.
I know it’s hard to accept but grand mama is gone, I’m not her." The old woman didn’t answer.
She turned around to leave the room, she turned and looked at Meggie before closing the door.
Meggie used the key to open the safe, there was a pin lock after. She took out an envelope.
It had a letter from her grandma, the letter was confusing but on it back there was a code of numbers.
She punched them in and the safe opened, inside it there was only a red book. Adrian sniffed it and got interested.
The book smelled a little like Meggie yet also completely different. The scent of the book actually seemed to diverge from Meggie when he tried tracking it.
It was as if it was refusing to be tracked back to her. ’ Witch stuff.’ he thought then turned around and walked off.
" I’ll be back later." He told Meggie who didn’t seem to be the bit interested, she continued looking at the red book.
Adrian left then took out the missing poster in his pocket. The poster was of a little girl about 10 years old.
There was a cellphone number on the bottom. He went to a phone booth and dialed the number.
An agitated voice came through, " Hello." A voice of a woman came through. Adrian took a deep breath.
He was trying to make his voice sound deeper. " Hello, Mrs Palmer, it’s detective Lunar, it’s about your daughter."
The voice grew quite then he heard her talking to somebody. He heard a voice of a man through the phone.
" Detective Lunar, what happened to detective Sanchez?" The man asked having taken the phone from his wife.
" The case was transferred to me sir, now I’m informing you that I’ll come over to your house to discuss the details of your daughter’s disappearance."
He hung up before the man could respond, in the Palmer house. The couple looked at each other.
The man frowned, " Strange, we talked to detective Sanchez yesterday, he said nothing about the case being transferred."
He told his wife, " Who cares, it’d been four days and he hasn’t found anything yet, if this Lunar can help then who cares?"
She sounded angry, her husband did not argue with her even though he felt there was something wrong here.
Adrian went back into the house and looked around for something. He found an old wallet, " This will do." He turned and ran off.
Meggie saw him, " Where are you going?" She asked.
" I’ll be back later." He shouted as he ran out the door. He didn’t know where the Palmer household was.
He asked around and since the couple had just recently lost their daughter, they were still a hot topic around.
It didn’t take him long to find the house on one of the residential buildings around. He knocked on the door.
He heard footsteps and the door was opened by a beautiful woman in her 30’s, behind her was a husband.
He was a tall guy who looked like he hit the gym. They looked at him with confusion, " Who are you?" She asked.
Adrian smiled, " Detective Lunar, don’t mind the way I look I have good genes, I’m a real detective with experience."
He used compulsion on both of them, the woman opened the door letting him in. He looked around the house.
He caught three scents inside but one was a bit faint meaning it had been a while since they were here.
" When was the last time you saw your daughter?" He asked. The couple looked at each other.
" We’ve already gave that information to detective Sanchez officer." The man replied.
Adrian continued walking around slowly with his hands in his pockets. " I need you to tell it again."
" Her room." The mom answered, " She was there when he went to bed then the next morning she..she.." she started crying.
Strangely Adrian felt nothing for her tears, infact he was only doing this because he always thought being a detective was cool not because he cared.
" Take me to her room." The father led him upstairs to his daughter’s room. " Leave me." Adrian ordered.
The man hesitated but eventually closed the door. Adrian could still smell him standing behind the door.
He sniffed the room and the girl’s scent was stronger here but beneath it he sensed something else.
Something more disgusting and vile. He frowned, the aura led out the window. He took the girl’s t-shirt and left.
" I promise I’ll find your daughter, dead or alive." He told the parents which made the mother cry even more.
He wondered why she was crying now, he just promised to find her daughter. He only realised after he left why.
" That was probably sensitive wasn’t it?" He whispered to himself then shrugged and walked off.
He sniffed the t-shirt and followed the scent, it led him to the sewers underground. He continued walking further.
It was dark but that was not an issue for him and being here strangely didn’t make him want to throw up.
After walking for what felt like kilometres he saw a deep hole that led even further down, he jumped down.
He came out to an underground lair that was quite large. It walls were covered by a sticky green sludge.
However that was not what caught his attention. It were the multiple humans trapped by that sludge that did.
He saw human bones on the floor and said a silent prayer to them then started freeing the others.
