Demonic Skeleton God-Chapter 125: Taking Off the Mask
Chapter 125: Taking Off the Mask
The days passed, and Flain kept learning more and more at the Academy. His senses improved only slightly because he had to act like an average student. His offensive power didn’t increase much either, but he gained a few good combat experiences from fighting various students with very different fighting styles.
Professor Nyvar wanted to see everyone’s collection of techniques. Flain had only two and could only show one, which was Swift Cascade, a technique he liked quite a lot. Nyvar also announced that they would soon begin focusing on techniques, which pleased Flain because it meant he would get another technique for free.
In Magic class, Flain didn’t stand out because the entire class was still focused on learning the spell the professor had given them. freёnovelkiss.com
However, in Rune Magic, Flain made considerable progress. He managed to draw a Solar core, while the others could only manage half of it. Of course, Flain didn’t show it because that wouldn’t fit his role as an average student.
Finally, a week passed. The ownership of rooms had shuffled quite a bit, but the main five remained unchanged. Someone had even challenged Flain to an official match for a room, but Flain refused.
Lia Woldern and Akio Keshiru became stars, and every boy or girl kept asking them out on dates. Lia always turned everyone down, asking them not to show interest in her. Akio also refused, though not as harshly—he always apologized and said he wasn’t ready yet. They stood out mostly because of their beauty, status, and strength.
Flor was also quite popular, and many girls invited him out. But unlike those two, Flor accepted and tried to get closer to everyone in a friendly sense. For his plans, it was important to have good relationships with everyone.
Cru Enirt became Flain’s potential rival in the future because he blackmailed others with the help of his friends for Mana Crystals and became a typical bully. Every morning, he stood in front of the dorm section of the garden and demanded Mana Crystals. If someone didn’t give him any, he transformed into a werewolf and beat them up. Luckily, Flain always managed to avoid him—or rather, it was Cru’s luck, because if he tried to beat up Flain, his future would have vanished along with his life.
Cru’s biggest rival and enemy was Rey Zveroi. Even though Rey had a room one rank lower, their strength was nearly equal. He had every trait one would associate with the word "hero." He was honorable, honest, brave, and liked to protect the weak. That’s why he often stepped in to stop Cru. Cru hated him, and every time they met, they fought. But no one ever won or lost, since their strength was pretty evenly matched. That’s why Rey challenged Cru for his room: if Rey lost, he’d have to give 100 Mana Crystals to Cru, and if he won, he’d get Cru’s room.
This battle will take place in 2 days, and Flain looked at it with offensive intent since he would fight them in the future, and knowing what abilities they had wouldn’t be a bad idea.

It was the seventh evening since Flain had enrolled, and someone knocked at the Academy door—someone knocked on his own door. Flain knew who it was and was already looking forward to hearing Flor say that his job was done, so that Flain wouldn’t have to hold back anymore.
With a smirk, Flain opened the door, but was surprised when he didn’t see Flor standing there, but someone else. It was a tall young man with short curly hair and big eyes.
His name was Iagiro Huria, owner of room 15 and one of Cru’s five friends who always hovered around him.
"Great Cru demands 3 Mana Crystals for the privilege of being in his presence," he mumbled and looked at Flain.
Flain had just traded in Mana Crystals and gained a nice 36,000 EXP. That was a lot for a week, especially compared to when he trained in the basement, where he would’ve earned three times less. Once Flain starts winning room battles, the EXP gain will grow even more.
"Oh, right, you’re that guy who keeps hanging around Flor Wahraid. I don’t know how he can be friends with a weakling like you. You’re lucky to have such a good friend," he said and walked away.
Flain was already ready to draw his swords and go after that student without a mask. Flor had said he could act after one week, and the week had passed, so if anything went wrong, it would be Flor’s fault. Either way, Flain knew what he was doing and doubted anything would go wrong.
A few minutes later, someone knocked again. Flain hoped it was finally Flor. He’d be quite pissed if it was someone else coming to bother him with some irrelevant nonsense.
Standing at the door was Flor. "Hi Flain, I bring good news. What’s up? You look a little angry," he asked with his usual smile and stepped inside.
"Don’t worry about it. One of Cru’s buddies came to annoy me, but he got lucky and decided not to see me," Flain said.
"Alright. I’ve refined your and Itai’s pasts, and now there are no more errors. You can freely use your real strength, but keep flying and the Spine Stalker form hidden, because flying at your Stage is way too unusual, and I probably don’t need to tell you why you should hide your true appearance," Flor said.
"Glad to have you as an ally," Flain said, and they shook hands.
"Likewise," said Flor.
Flor was about to leave but added, "You can use the tail—just mask it as some kind of spell that drains a minimal amount of mana," he said and closed the door behind him.
It had occurred to Flain that he could present it as a spell, but for some reason, it hadn’t felt like a good idea at the time. Now that Flor had said it, though, it probably was a good idea.
Flain smirked and began training—tomorrow would be interesting...
