Depraved Hero's Path: Enslaved Monster Girl Harem In The Apocalypse!-Chapter 11: First Boss Monster
Chapter 11 - First Boss Monster
"Well..." Marianne muttered, glancing at the staircase. "That actually went well."
"Did you think it wouldn't?"
"Yeah." She admitted. "Wait, how come you let that big guy and Chloe go?"
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know. I feared you would..." She raised her hand, showing the Slave Mark on her wrist.
"They can take care of themselves."
"So can I!"
"Time to prove it then." Elijah said as he turned towards Keith. "Well?"
"No more Goblins on the ground floor." Keith nodded. "Chloe is still making rounds, entering each Safe Zone."
"Good." Elijah nodded. "I just got a super super cool idea."
The words made Marianne flinch.
"So I have a job for you two."
"What do you have in mind?"
"Why would you ask that? The creep should keep his ideas to himself!"
"Mean." Elijah noticed Chloe exiting one of the Safe Zones. "Do you think I'm a creep?"
"Huh? Um... No."
"I see. So it's a you issue."
'Of course she wouldn't think so! You're tall, handsome, strong, and actually kinda courageous. And most importantly... You didn't turn HER into a Slave!!'
Sigh-
'I'll have to trust him for now. Can't figure out how to get this off, so...'
Marianne rubbed her eyes for a moment.
"What's the job?"
Keith's eyes narrowed as two shadows appeared from behind Elijah.
[Owned Slaves: 6/10.]
"This is Goblin A, and this is Goblin B. They'll help you."
Keith walked closer before crouching.
"They have the same tattoo as Marianne."
"They do." Elijah nodded. "I want you to go to the next area and do... Basically, what we did here."
"Without you?"
"Yeah." Elijah pointed at the staircase behind him with a thumb. "I'm going up."
"Hm..." Keith scratched his chin for a moment. "You're the stronger one here, so I'm sure you'll be fine."
"Take Chloe as well. She can make rounds while you clear the area."
"Alright." Keith nodded, turned around, and started walking towards the Safe Zone that Chloe had entered.
Elijah turned towards the stairs, but didn't go up.
"What are you waiting for?"
"You're going to fight the Boss Monster alone. I didn't think a creep could also be a Hero."
"Ha." ELijah chuckled. "I'm a special type of Hero. In any case, can you stop with this creep word? Keith is in his thirties, with no affiliation to this University."
"So?"
"So a thirty-year-old working out at University's gym...?"
"Wha-" Marianne's eyes widened with shock. "I didn't even think about it! Of course, he would follow you! Creeps attract creeps!"
"In that case, the fact that I... Nevermind." Elijah shook his head.
"What? Were you going to make some kind of joke about being attracted me, indirectly calling me a creep as well?"
Dejected, he could only stare at the staircase.
"No."
"Tsk. Being a minor is working both to my advantage and disadvantage." Marianne sighed. "My birthday is in two weeks. Relax."
"I'd rather not." Elijah started climbing up the staircase. "Go do your job now." He threw a piercing gaze at the Goblins. "Goblin A, Goblin B. You do absolutely everything that Marianne tells you."
The two Enslaved Goblins gulped, nodded repeatedly.
"Ready to go?" Keith asked a minute later.
Elijah had already disappeared up the staircase.
'Another creep... Two disgusting creatures to babysit... What did I do to deserve this?' Marianne shook her head. 'Alright, time to prove I don't need his help... Though it's tough to call it help with this Mark on my wrist. Ugh!'
She walked right past Keith and Chloe.
"Let's just go. Goblins, stay in front of me."

Meanwhile,
'There were Goblin corpses scattered. Some that weren't defeated by Keith or us. Someone else is fighting.'
Elijah tried to focus on his sense of hearing, but there didn't seem to be anything happening on the first floor.
"Oh..."
Only at the top of the staircase could the corpses of little less than three dozen Goblins be seen.
Additionally, on the other side of the floor was the only door in the whole building that was found closed.
"Is... Someone there...?" A pained voice muttered.
Elijah's lips curled upwards as he walked past the Goblin corpses.
Beyond them, she lay on the ground, surrounded by a puddle of her own blood.

"Did you kill them all?"
"..." Between haggard breaths, "Is... Everyone okay?"
"Yeah, thanks to you..." Elijah looked around, counting the number of dead Goblins. "And me."
"Good..." She coughed, causing more blood to taint her face.
Behind her lay a Spear.
Elijah crouched in front of her.
"That's a deep wound."
"Y... You think?"
He smiled at her ability to retort despite the pain and situation.
"Shall I heal you?"
"..." She stared at him with eyes that were losing more of their light by the second.
Completely unable to move, she couldn't even manage a nod.
"It'll cost you though."
"W... What... Exactly?"
Elijah let his chin rest against his curled fist and smiled.
"Shall I heal you?" He repeated.
Another cough. The pool of blood around her only grew.
"Y... Yes."
Countless images passed through her mind. It was too early. Much too early.
"Anything... You want... Just... Please..."
"Haha." Elijah chuckled. "You've got yourself a deal."
"Aaah..." She gasped.

Elijah pulled his hand away from her wrist and towards her stomach.

"How's that?"
"Be... Better..."
"Alright." Elijah stood up, wiping the blood off his hand. "The Mark should do the rest."
"Where... Are you going?"
"I'm going to make a new friend." Elijah waved as he walked away. "Have a nice nap, Katherine."
"..." She tried to sit upright, but had far from enough strength to do so. Her wound still hadn't healed enough to ease the pain either. "How... Do you know my name?"
Elijah turned towards her without stopping.
"Good question." He smiled.
A minute later,
Knock- Knock-
"Is this the Boss Monster's room?" Elijah asked as he knocked. "I'm sort of new here, so..."
It was the kind of door that had a long rectangular piece of glass embedded in it.
Disturbed by the knocking, the Boss Monster came into view.
"God, you're ugly." Elijah muttered to himself, staring at the Boss Monster from outside the room. "Will you attack even though I'm outside? Or will you wait until I enter the Boss Room?"
Seconds later, he was convinced of the second option.
The door handle was pushed.
[Warning!]
[You are entering the Boss Room!]

"I didn't come here with the 200 Participants allotted to you but..." Elijah walked right in. "Hope you don't mind."
