Depraved Hero's Path: Enslaved Monster Girl Harem In The Apocalypse!-Chapter 21: Falling In Love?
Chapter 21 - Falling In Love?
Following the path that had been shown to the Candidates, Elijah and Marianne exited the building.
Léa and the pink-haired student were standing a dozen steps apart, waiting.
"Are you sure about that one?" Marianne asked with a whisper.
"Don't worry about it."
Léa walked closer upon noticing them.
"Before getting to it, I have some demands."
"Demands?"
"Yes. There are conditions that I want to set."
"Ha." Elijah chuckled. "I don't remember saying that conditions were a part of this."
"I know."
He remained silent for a moment, smiling.
"You waited until I turned down everyone before talking about conditions, huh?"
"Yes." Léa nodded. "It seemed like the logical thing to do."
"You're sneaky. I like that." Elijah walked past her as he nodded. "We'll talk about conditions later." He only turned around once he was standing next to the pink-haired girl.
She was standing rather awkwardly. Marianne liked her outfit. It was pretty simple. A black shirt and a black shirt, each of pink hues, which suited her perfectly and worked in unison with her pink hair.
'Still, there's something creepy about her.' She sighed.
"Conditions weren't a part of it, but neither was this final test."
"Final test?" Léa frowned.
"Um... Excuse me..." The pink-haired girl whispered.
"What is it?" Elijah asked as he turned towards her.
"I'm..." Almost collapsing to the ground, Elijah extended his arm towards her at just the right time and she took it. "I'm... I don't think I'm doing okay."
"What's wrong with her?" Marianne complained.
"I feel like I'm going to faint..."
"Hm." Elijah thought for a moment. "Not sure we can do something about that."
"Oh." Léa exclaimed. "Do you need something from the infirmary?"
"The infirmary... Yes, maybe I'll find something there..."
"Alright." Elijah nodded. "Can you go alone?"
"I... Don't think so. I'm scared that I might pass out, and with those Monsters around I..."
"Ugh, fine." Marianne sighed. "I'll take you there."
The pink-haired girl held his arm a bit tighter.
"No, I'll take her to the infirmary." Elijah said.
"Huh? I bet you don't even know where it is."
"Do you?" He asked the woman holding on tight to his arm.
She slowly nodded.
"Good. Then we'll go to the infirmary."
"But-"
A sentence suddenly resonated inside Marianne's mind.
'Stop being a cockblock.'
"A what...?" Marianne frowned. "Fine, you two go." She shrugged. "I don't even care."
"Good. Come closer."
Marianne was suspicious, but she still walked closer.

"On the second floor of the sports complex, you'll find this vending machine that acts as a Local Shop."
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Just go there and get yourselves something. After that, head north and help Katherine."
"Katherine? My gymnastics coach?"
"Exactly. And hey, Marianne."
"What is it?"
"Make sure she fights."
"Yeah, alright. She didn't seem like the scaredy-cat type anyways."
"I... I can hear you..." Léa whispered.
"Alright, later."
"Yeah, whatever." Marianne sighed. "Léa, let's go."

"Does this happen often?" Elijah asked as they walked through campus. "Fainting?"
"Sometimes. When I haven't eaten in a while."
"When's the last time you had anything to eat?"
"Honestly... Feels like it's been an eternity."
The two walked with her arms wrapped around his right arm.
Elijah could feel her huge breasts pressing against his arm, but he did his best to ignore that.
"Are you a student here?"
"Hm... Ah, yes."
"What are you studying here?"
"This and that. I don't really go to my classes..."
"Yeah. It was the same for me, until I dropped out."
"I see."
"Where's the infirmary?"
"Right after that corner."
"You can probably let go of my arm now."
"I would rather not. I might still faint."
They arrived in front of the infirmary's closed door.
"I'm scared, you know? Incredibly scared..." She whispered before raising her gaze to meet his.
Her chin was resting on the upper portion of his arm.
"What are you scared of?" He asked.
She didn't answer.
Instead, her right hand moved up his arm and lay on his cheek.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Do you..." Her glittering eyes shone pink. "Think I'm pretty?"
She was leaning forward, blushing.
Her eyes and face were glistening, and she was breathing heavily.
The hand that lay on his cheek made Elijah's skin tingle.
"I think you're really pretty." He answered after a short silence.
"Yes?" Her lips curled upwards, and her left hand went to his right cheek. "I'm happy... I'm... So happy to hear that." She whispered, staring deep into his eyes.
He felt a sudden hot flash as he stared into her eyes. His body heat was quickly increasing.
Her hand moved down his cheek, neck, shoulder, and arm, sending shivers and tingles up and down his arm.
"Let's go inside." She whispered, wrapping her hand around his.
For a moment, Elijah felt as if the air around her had been tainted by the pink color of her hair. As if everything around him was turning into a shade of pink.
Her smell was intoxicating, and her smell was quickly corrupting the air all around them.
"Are you coming?" She asked as she lay a hand on the door handle.
Gulp-
"Yeah." Elijah answered a second later, as if in a daze.
As he stepped into the infirmary, System messages appeared, but no matter how much he tried, he found himself unable to read them.
[Congratulations!]
[You have reached the location of a Special Event!]
"Huh? Special..." Elijah suddenly stumbled. His hand found the wall, which was the only reason he didn't fall to the ground. "I feel... Kind of weird."

"You do?" She asked, turning around with a beautiful smile. "In that case, focus on my voice. On my voice and my voice alone." She pulled him closer, still holding his hand. "Focus on my voice, my face, and my body."
"I might... Be the one... Who's going to faint... Now..." Elijah muttered, barely able to keep his eyes open.
"That's because you're not looking at me." She whispered with her seductive voice. "Look at me." Her hands were placed over his cheeks again. "Do you know why you're feeling this way? Do you know how this feeling is called?"
"I don't..."
The dizzy Elijah was brought to an infirmary bed, and she took a seat next to him.
"What is... Happening...?"
Staring deep into his eyes, she answered with the most innocent smile.
"It's love, my dear."
Sitting to his right, she placed her left hand on his thigh and her right one moved to his left cheek.
"You're falling in love, maybe for the first time in your life."
