DESTINY GAMES-Chapter 216: Unmet Expectations.
He felt safe out here in the wilds, so he was in the mood to appreciate the chaos from afar.
But Wrath shook her head and said, "Unfortunately, you are not going to get your wish. A demigod won’t come out or move into action because of some small fry."

"What’s the worst thing that can happen? It is that the four kings will be killed. But that’s fine because the city will remain. As long as the city remains, everything is fine. The four kings will be replaced, and everything will continue as normal."
He thought about it and agreed. "You’re probably right. The death of one of the kings doesn’t seem to have changed anything."
Wrath said indignantly, "Of course, I’m right. Besides, all of this drama will only make the city more popular, which will help the demigod accumulate more popularity."
Then she chuckled evilly and said, "As for the girl, she is going to go down, and she will bring down a lot of people with her. I can’t wait to see it."
It was his turn to let down her expectations. He said, "You might not get to see it. We are leaving for the battlefield in two days."
She cursed, "Damn it. It is just my luck."
He consoled her, "Don’t worry. I’m sure there will be a lot of excitement on the battlefield."
She was slightly appeased. She said, "I hope so. But if the battlefield is exciting, it might not be a good thing for you."
Kelvin chuckled. "Right. I forgot about that."
The two of them became silent as they watched the situation from his phone. Lady Dimitri was really kicking up a storm. She wasn’t willing to take no for an answer. She was on TV every day saying how she had to get her District 419 or heads would roll.
Many people had a lot to say about that. Heroes decried giving another villain a major influence in the city like that. The people of the city were also threatening to riot if her demands were met.
The people of the city were the most angry about this. But many corpos had joined in too. The two sides chose to cooperate because they had been used in her scheme to get to the kings.
To that, Lady Dimitri had said, "You are all weak, so I used you. You’re just pawns. You should shut up and know your place."
The people were incensed, and the corpos were about ready to move their forces to bring her down. The only reason why they hadn’t moved is because the kings hadn’t done anything.
The kings didn’t admit that one of them died. They didn’t even act like they knew about her threats. She appeared to be a random barking dog off its leash.
Wrath loved every moment of it. She said, "I have to give it to her. She knows how to be fun. I’ll say a few words when she dies."
Kelvin thought about it and said, "If she dies, it is likely that the kings die too. At least, their identities will be exposed. If they die, how will the demigod select new kings?"
Wrath replied absentmindedly, "The kings will probably come from the families of those who sponsored the demigod before he or she became a demigod. Bar that, anyone can be selected."
She wasn’t really paying attention to him. Her gaze was focused on his phone. She didn’t want to miss any exciting moment of the roller coaster.
Unfortunately, nothing big happened before it was time for him to leave.
A silver hourglass clock flashed briefly at the edge of his vision. Then the white world of the Tower of Destiny also flashed several times to inform him that it was almost time to go.
He took the warnings seriously and decided to return to the city to put away things he couldn’t take with him, like his phone. He couldn’t leave it out in the wilds as he doesn’t even know when he will be back from the foreign battlefield.
He made his final preparations quickly. Then he waited nervously in his room.
He was nervous because of the large uncertainty involved in what he is about to do. Anything could happen at all, and he might not be able to return.
His nervousness was not helped by the fact that the army had provided information about his destination to him. That information has actually made things worse.
He thought to himself, "I blame the Yggdrasil civilization for being too open with information about our enemy."
He would surely have been nervous if he didn’t know anything about the Lignum world. But his nervousness wouldn’t be so bad as it is right now because of the knowledge that there are many demigods in the Lignum world.
Those demigods won’t take kindly to his presence in their world. They also won’t be like the demigod below New London who doesn’t care about small fries like him.
These demigods will try to kill him as soon as they get the chance. This is why he is very nervous.
But being nervous more than usual is a worthy trade for being prepared. He is only complaining because he wants to preoccupy his mind with something else other than the thought of demigods wiping him off the face of their world like a fly on a windshield.
In fact, he is grateful for the information. This way he won’t be caught off guard when a demigod appears to kill him. At least, he won’t freeze and might be able to do something to preserve his life.
Unfortunately, his attempts to stop thinking about different types of gruesome death didn’t work. His mind decided to be extra imaginative. It busied itself with conjuring various images of his death.
He was thinking about how long it would take him to die if a demigod punched him when his body was suddenly yanked away from his room.
