DESTINY GAMES-Chapter 234: A Quick Turn.
The mushrooms are the new biological weapon that the elves have deployed. They took advantage of the absurd rate of plant growth by spreading the spores everywhere.
So the mushroom grows very quickly and grows everywhere on the battlefield. With the armor of soldiers scrapped, their force field can’t protect them from the hallucinogenic effect of the spores.
If inhaled too much, the spores can lead to poisoning of the soldiers. So the mushrooms have to be eliminated.
Unfortunately, increasing the reward for destroying them can’t eliminate them. They are practically everywhere and are constantly growing. Plus, finding them is difficult.
Only people like Kelvin, who have an advantage in identifying them and destroying them en masse, have been able to put a significant dent in the supply of the mushrooms.
This and the rarity of spiked trees is why he is contemplating going mushroom hunting instead of trying to bring down giant worms.
Life Core makes it too easy for him to kill weak living things with fragile existence, so he doubts the rate at which he takes down a giant worm can compare to the rate at which he wipes out mushrooms.
But he decided to have concrete data before making a decision. If only for the fact that his squad will become useless if he decides to remove mushrooms full time.
They won’t be able to render him any help, which will be a waste of their strength. Command is highly likely to take them away from him, which is something he doesn’t want.
So he began running in the direction of the giant worm. The treants sensed his movements immediately. They arranged themselves into a thick wall of plant muscle.
Actually, they had been paying attention to him because of the number of soldiers he had with him. Now that he had moved to attack them, they prepared themselves for battle.
The royal elf on the giant worm turned to look at him. She was a female with a slender figure and green vine hair that was longer than she was tall. She truly looked like nobility.
Even before the two sides clashed, the elf had already thrown out seeds to replenish the treants that she would lose. She was taking his attack seriously.
He smiled to himself and said, "Two can play at this game."
Then he used Life core to siphon the life force of the fragile seeds. He snuffed out the life in them before it could take root. This caused the royal elf to frown.
But things only got worse from there. The two sides clashed. Powerful, giant, walking trees collided against a powerful assortment of creatures. The earth shook and the air roared as multiple entities crossed the speed of sound.
Kelvin was caught in the middle of all of this. He was tiny compared to the enemy they were facing. But one slash with his diamond blade ar. was all he needed to bring down a treant.
The treants are big and strong. But they lack two things. They lack speed and defense.
Their speed is abysmal. It is directly opposite to their great strength. Especially when the treants root themselves to the ground. At that point, their speed becomes almost zero, but they also become nearly impossible to defeat then.
Their defense is better than their speed, as they can resist most of the weaponry available to the soldiers of Yggdrasil. But their defense might as well be paper in front of him.
What’s more, they can’t use their excellent regeneration against him. One cut is enough for him to gain access to their existence and begin draining them of their life force.
Despite being small on the battlefield, his presence alone was enough to decide the outcome of this battle. Because of him, any injury that the enemy acquires is exacerbated and becomes nearly fatal.
Of course, he faced his fair share of problems. The major problem is that he mustn’t be hit at all.
A punch from a S-rank giant won’t kill him. But it will send him far away from the battlefield. It will literally catapult him into the distance if the punch doesn’t nail him into the ground.
He has a defense at the S-rank and attack power at the S-rank too, but he lacks physical strength and body mass needed to withstand the force of a wall sweeping him off his feet and throwing him into the distance.
Fortunately, he has Extraordinary Perception and can see around him with his 360 degrees vision. He can even see enemies behind obstacles, so avoiding sweeping hits is doable for him.
Apart from that problem, everything else is fine. At the rate at which his squad was making progress, they were going to destroy the worm in less than a minute. It was a good thing.
But then he sensed a lethal threat approaching. He stopped whatever he was doing and ran in the opposite direction.
The soldiers in his squad didn’t ask any questions even though they were making good progress and were sure to destroy the worm. They didn’t say anything as they joined him in rushing in the other direction.

It was a few moments later when the light of the moon increased greatly.
He didn’t notice that since the light of the moon didn’t affect the efficacy of his infrared vision. Besides, he had the rising dread in his chest to deal with.
There were better things to concern himself with than the increase in the intensity of moonlight. Unfortunately, this phenomenon is related to the danger he had encountered.
A small, naked, and blue figure had appeared silently in the shadow of a tree. She was very small compared to everything around her.
She was just one meter tall, so she was smaller than even Kelvin. Yet, he was running away from her as if being alive counted in it.
Her small size and her ability made it very difficult for others to notice her existence. She was sure that it would be easy to sneak up to a weakling like Kelvin. But even before she made her move, he was already running for his life at his top speed.
