Destiny Mission of game 'Star Ring'-Chapter 1527 - 1211: Intel (First Update)
In the cage in the distance, the exhausted Karn was locked up with the elders of the clan.
They sat against the iron bars, eyes dull and lifeless, giving off a feeling akin to dead wood.
This was not abnormal; being captured and kept here was no different from being livestock.
Everyone knew they couldn’t be saved.
They were stranded here, in this deadly place where no one could find them; even Li Ruiqi was struggling to survive.
Each day they watched as these monsters dragged away their companions, one by one.
They were powerless, unable to resist even if they wanted to fight desperately, which was truly tragic.
Su Mo carefully maneuvered the mecha forward, and then, taking advantage of the Blade Mutants’ momentary distraction, quietly rolled a small round communication ball with a sponge shell into the cage.
The plastic communication ball rolled directly in front of Karn.
With his head bowed, Karn saw the ball appear in front of him and his eyes widened.
In that instant, his dormant heart leapt.
He quickly grabbed the communication ball and hid it, then looked around.
Everything outside was normal, no anomalies appeared.
But the elders beside Karn sensed his unusual behavior and looked at him, puzzled.
"Clan Leader? What’s wrong?"
Karn suppressed his excitement and quietly said to them.
"Listen to me, do not show any signs of anomaly."
Upon hearing Karn’s words, all the elders nodded quickly.
"Move closer, help block the Blade Mutants’ view. Inform me immediately of any disturbance, we might have a chance for rescue; look at this."
Karn whispered as he unveiled a small portion of the communicator in his hand.
The elders’ faces couldn’t help but display a joyful expression, but they were experienced and quickly hid their reactions.
They began to discreetly move, shielding Karn.
Karn then picked up the communication ball, his heart filled with anxious excitement, and tried to speak softly.
"Hello?"
"Master Karn, it’s Su Mo."
Su Mo’s voice came from the communication ball.
Hearing Su Mo’s words, Karn was astounded, feeling incredible disbelief.
"Su Mo? How are you here?"
How Su Mo located this part of the galaxy and infiltrated the Blade Mutants’ lair were both unfathomable feats.
He wondered if he was hallucinating.
"Listen to me, let’s set aside those questions. I’m here to rescue you, and now I urgently need information about this place. How much do you know about this lair?"
Su Mo spoke directly to Karn.
Upon hearing Su Mo, Karn quickly replied, "You mustn’t take rash action, the number of enemies in this lair is beyond your imagination. Though it seems the Blade Mutants aren’t many, the monsters they raise are innumerable."
The more Su Mo listened, the deeper his frown became.
"Furthermore, the enemy’s combat power is extremely terrifying, with even V-Peak beings among them. You must consider whether you can defeat them."
Karn didn’t just urge Su Mo to save them, he explained the situation.
"Are you referring to the V-Peak Alien they are raising?"
"No, no, I’m talking about their leader, the Silver Mutant. That guy’s strength is V-Peak."
"Hiss, he’s V-Peak too?"
Su Mo gasped at this information, realizing he had encountered another formidable opponent.
"Yes, and the Silver Mutant differs from normal Blade Mutants; it’s highly intelligent and articulate. Frankly, we’re still alive because it wants to torture us into despair, both physically and mentally, to thoroughly break us down. Partly to use us as evolutionary materials, and partly to extract knowledge."
Karn elaborated to Su Mo.
Hearing this, Su Mo found the situation increasingly complicated; intelligence made things tricky.
For a while, Su Mo didn’t know what to say.
Seeing Su Mo silent for a long time, Karn gritted his teeth and told him, "Su Mo, if you really can’t save us, don’t force it. Just give us a swift end."
Hearing this, Su Mo was deeply affected, and he said to Karn, "Don’t say such things; I won’t abandon you. I’ll find a way to rescue you soon."
"Alright."
Karn replied, his eyes moist.
"I won’t talk to you further now, I’m going to scout the rest of this lair. Try to stay hidden and don’t provoke the monsters."
Su Mo advised next.
"Alright, we know what to do, be careful."
Karn continued to urge with concern.
"Okay, no problem."
Su Mo cut off communications.
The Creator·Swallower then asked in a low voice, "What do you plan to do next? According to that old man, rescuing them won’t be easy."
"Where there’s a will, there’s a way."
Su Mo’s eyes glinted, replying calmly.
"Oh? What’s your plan?"
The Creator·Swallower grew more curious.
"Karn indeed provided an important piece of information: the Blade Mutants raise a massive number of monsters. So why haven’t we encountered large groups of monsters during our exploration? There is only one possibility; the monsters they’re raising are locked in caves used as combatants when needed, and as food when not. Hence, we need a comprehensive scout of this lair to mark all the Monster Caves where the Blade Mutants imprison monsters, then figure out how to tackle it."
Su Mo explained to the Creator·Swallower.
"The difficulty is significant, given that you’re scouting alone, and any slip-up will alert the enemy."
The Creator·Swallower replied gravely.
"No matter how hard it is, it must be done. Let’s go, we scout."
Su Mo didn’t waste any words.
"Alright!"
The Creator·Swallower nodded.
Seven days later, Su Mo stood in a corner of a cave, facing countless monsters confined in giant cages, with his brow furrowed.
The monsters roared fiercely, baring their teeth.
The guarding Blade Mutants acted as if they hadn’t heard their furious roars, seemingly accustomed to it.
