Destroying My Own World-Chapter 367 Trust issue.
Three days after the meeting, Mykel's name and popularity rose drastically. His personality and appearance were enough to charm everyone and became a hot topic. They started to dig up any information about him, but they got nothing, making them more interested and curious about him.
"You have a lot of fans out there," Elysande said as she came out of the bathroom in see-through lingerie. "Your speech moved everyone and I'm glad that you managed to do so," she hugged Mykel from behind, but her expression turned sour.
"Are you confident with what you said? That you will be able to clear the rift and defeat that demon?" Elysande asked as she rested her head on Mykel's back.
"Is that really what you wanted to ask?" Mykel held Elysande's hands on his chest. "You can say it and I will answer it truthfully," he said as he looked at the night sky through the window.
Elysande lowered her head to take a deep breath and then slowly and gently turned Mykel around so he could see her in the eyes. She slowly moved her hands around his chest, hesitating to say what she wanted to say.
"Are you planning to leave me once this is over?" Elysande asked as she stared Mykel in the eyes. "I have no worries about this whole situation because deep down I believe you can do it. I'm more worried about what you would do once it's over," she explained.
"I don't know," Mykel answered as he stared back at Elysande. "I want to stay here with you at this moment and spend my time with you for as long as I can. I won't be able to promise you that I won't leave, but I want you to know that I will see you again if I'm gone," he added.
"Is that why you never want to let it out inside me even though you have fixed me? You know you're going to leave me behind," Elysande frowned as she caressed Mykel's cheeks.
"That's not the reason why. I don't want to see my past repeat again. I want to do it once I'm sure that the past won't haunt me again. I hope you understand," Mykel answered and then kissed Elysande's forehead.
Elysande was surprised and looked at Mykel with pity after she knew the reason why he drew a line between them. She felt sorry and hugged him so tightly trying to comfort him.
"I understand. I will wait for as long as you want because I will be here when you're back," Elysande smiled gently at Mykel. "I love you, Mykel. From the bottom of my heart," she said and then kissed Mykel so passionately.
"I promise that I will come back for you, and only for you," Mykel lifted Elysande and put her legs around his waist as he carried her to bed. "Let's enjoy the moment we have and don't think about anything else," he put her down on the bed and removed his shirt while he was on top of her.
Elestria listened to the conversation from behind the door, and she had mixed feelings about it. Jealousy, anger, hatred, sadness, and loneliness, and then she left because she wasn't needed by her sister anymore. She didn't know what to do and how to get rid of those feelings knowing it would affect Elysande if she decided to send Mykel away from her.
Elestria didn't know why she ended up in a wine cellar on her own with two empty bottles on the table in front of her. She never thought she would do something so reckless and irresponsible like that, but when she was about to leave, she heard footsteps coming toward her.
"Who's there?" Elestria stood up, but she realized how drunk she was and could barely stand on her own. "So it's you..." She immediately sat down and sighed with relief when it was Mykel who came into the cellar.
"Sorry for my rudeness, Your Highness," Mykel wrapped Elestria with a warm blanket knowing that she only wore her sleeping dress.
"What are you doing down here? Are you planning to take some with you? Was it her that ordered you to come here?" Elestria stared at Mykel with her drunk eyes.
"I came because I saw you drinking alone and looked troubled. As your personal bodyguard, I believe I can at least stay by your side," Mykel answered.
Although Elestria was drunk, her mind was still as sharp as ever, and realized Mykel was plotting something. She then unwrapped the blanket and threw it to the ground, making Mykel look at the blanket with his eyebrows raised.
"You can't fool me, Mykel. Don't you dare to make the same move as how you did to my sister..." Elestria coldly stared at Mykel.
"I'm not planning to, Your Highness, I never was and never will," Mykel answered as he grabbed the blanket from the ground. "Do I look like someone who's thirst for power and authority? Do I look like that to you, Your Highness?" He looked at Elestria without showing any expression.
Elestria looked at Mykel's aura and he was being genuine with his feelings. It was gentle like water in the pond and it didn't show any sign of distortion, and his aura suddenly turned darker. She glanced at Mykel's face and wondered why he felt pity and it offended her that he was pity in her.
"You might get sick, Your Highness. I will wait outside and will guide you to your chamber once you're done," Mykel wrapped Elestria with the blanket again before he walked away.
"Wait!" Elestria grabbed Mykel's hand forcefully and she held it so tightly. "You're quite rude to not join me. Sit down and grab yourself a glass," she said.
Mykel dragged a chair as he held a glass in his other hand, and then he sat down across Elestria. He watched Elestria struggle to pour the wine into his glass, and then he put his hand on her hand to make it steady.
"I overheard your conversation. What do you mean you're going to leave? Who told you that you can leave?" Elestria asked.
"I still have unfinished business to take care of, Your Highness. It might take a while, but I'm asking your permission to allow me to leave," Mykel answered and drank his wine.
"Nonsense!" Elestria slammed her hand on the table and made the bottle fall, but Mykel caught it in time. "I will never allow you to leave even if you begged on your knees and your head on the floor," she emphasized.
Mykel was smiling as he went down to his knees after he put the bottle back on the table. He was kneeling in front of Elestria, and then he offered his hand to her. Even though Elestria hesitated at first, she put her hand on Mykel's hand.
"I never thought that Your Highness has this kind of side. It would be best if you stop drinking, and I will ease the discomfort in your body," Mykel pressed Elestria's palm gently with his thumb and made her sober a bit. It was a traditional way to ease dizziness and bloating, so he didn't use any of his power as the deal with Aevia.
"Do you think I was doing that because I was drunk? Do you think I'm that weak?" Elestria looked down at Mykel with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Then I will stay for as long as you want, Your Highness," Mykel said as he stood up while holding Elestria's hand. "It's getting late Your Highness, allow me to escort you back to your chamber," he pointed out. Read exclusive chapters at novelbuddy
Elestria took a deep breath and exhaled deeply before she decided to agree with Mykel's suggestion. They both then left the cellar and walked in the long alleyway with nobody around. She remembered that she was in the King's Palace and no wonder Mykel insisted on escorting her back to her chamber.
It was just silence all the way back to the Queen's palace, not a single word came out of their mouths. On the corner to Elestria's chamber, Elestria stopped following Mykel and just stood there.
"Did you lie about planning on staying here? Was it just to please me and would leave anyway?" Elestria asked. "I don't trust my power in front of you because you might be able to hide your intention and I will never know the truth," she pointed out.
"Then what I should do to make you believe my words, Your Highness?" Mykel asked.
"Impregnate my sister and make an heir with her. You're afraid of your past, so this will bind you here and make you unable to leave," Elestria answered with a serious expression.
"And threaten your position as the Queen of Faelethria? It's not I don't want to, but I wouldn't dare do such a thing to you, Your Highness," Mykel answered with a serious expression.
Elestria found that logic made sense and he wasn't wrong about it since the people had been wanting to see the future ruler of Faelethria. She then stared at Mykel with determination and pushed her into her chamber when they were standing in front of the door to her chamber.
"If that's the case..." Elestria locked the door behind her. "Let us make an heir. If you dare to leave, our child will bear the consequences and you will have the guilt for the rest of your life," she suggested as she undressed herself in front of Mykel.
