Chapter 557: I Suggest You Let Him Go

Liu Hui Ying was unaware of what was happening. She slept peacefully and woke up the very next morning. She felt a bit restless with the abundant yin energy flowing around her and couldn’t help but wonder how many lives these people might have taken for this village to have yin energy as strong as in the graveyard.

Slipping out of the bed, Liu Hui Ying walked over to the backyard and looked around. The more she looked around, the more she felt that there was something very wrong with this place.

"What’s the matter?" As the emperor, Zhai Tianyu was a very light sleeper and woke up right away when he felt Liu Hui Ying move. He got out of bed and draped his robe around him; he also knocked on the small memorials made for the three ghosts to wake them up.

"What—" and before Li Gang could lose his temper with him, he threw the robe that Liu Hui Ying wore to him and silently asked him to drape it around Liu Hui Ying.

Li Gang: "...."

He was so angry after realising why his sleep was disturbed that he almost cursed Zhai Tianyu’s mother, but when he saw the dragon energy around him, he knew that there was little he could do, so he pursed his lips and walked over to where Liu Hui Ying was standing and draped the robe over her shoulders.

"Su Tai..." Liu Hui Ying did notice the little actions of the men behind her, but she didn’t say anything. She pursed her lips and continued to watch the yin energy in front of her. "He was never destined to be a blessed person."

"Hmm? What?" Zhai Tianyu didn’t quite understand what Liu Hui Ying meant by those words. What did she mean by that Su Tai was never destined to become a blessed person? He was the magistrate of a small town; even if it was close to a village, his salary was good, and from the tax that he had implemented, he was making quite a lot of money. How could he not be blessed? If he were not destined to be a blessed person, then every poor person would end up shedding tears of blood.

Liu Hui Ying rolled her eyes and spun on her feet, ready to give the man a piece of her mind when —

"Watch out." Zhai Tianyu reached out to hold her, but Liu Hui Ying stepped back and glared at the man. "Are you trying to kill me?" She was severely allergic to men; if he touched her, she would end up breaking out all over her skin. It was a good thing that she stopped herself from falling into the arms of this man, or else she would have been rendered useless for the rest of the day.

Zhai Tianyu raised his hands in the air and said in a soft voice, "I apologise. I was just trying to help you since you were about to fall. I didn’t think about your allergy. I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me, hmm?"

Liu Hui Ying glared at the man before stepping away from him. She then said to him, "When I say that he is not destined to be a blessed person, I mean to say that he was not destined to become rich or powerful. He was supposed to be living a life of poverty, but he somehow managed to rise to a position of power. This means that he did something unnatural—something that goes against nature itself."

She raised her hand and flicked a talisman in the air, sending it curving in the air. The talisman arched and twisted before bursting into flames. As soon as the talisman exploded, Liu Hui Ying felt even more suspicious. "There is something wrong with the feng shui of this courtyard. Seriously wrong, and the fact that Su Tai was able to somehow manage to climb to the top with this feng shui behind him... how should I put it? Should I say that he did something simply too miraculous?"

"I don’t get—"

"The child is going to jump!"

When Zhai Tianyu and Liu Hui Ying heard this, their faces changed drastically, and they immediately rushed out of the courtyard. They saw a little boy around the age of eight or ten standing on top of the roof of the giant and majestic hall.

A lot of people had already gathered around the building. Some of the maids and the servants who worked for Su Tai were also trying to help the child get off the roof, but nothing seemed to be working. Every time they tried to reach the child, they would end up missing, as the child would dodge, which was weird because the child looked utterly panicked and was crying his eyes out. With how scared the child was, how could he dodge the countless hands that were reaching out for him?

Su Tai was also scared out of his wits. He turned to look at the celestial master whom he had called to deal with the troublesome things that were going around in his house. However, before he and the celestial master could deal with the troubles, his one and only son went up onto the roof. How? No one knew about it.

"What are you doing? Do something! Look at what is happening to my son. Hurry up and save his life. You must not let anything happen to him. He is my only son; what will happen to me if something happens to him?"

Cold sweat broke out on the celestial master’s forehead. Looking at the high building, he did his best to maintain his persona of a sage and started racking his brain. He said to Su Tai, "Magistrate Su, life and death is decided by the heavens. Maybe this is the sacrifice that heavens wants which is why your son is standing on the roof of the building. I suggest you to let him go."
