373 Pray to your Gods

Hearing all Danny said, Silver couldn’t help but frown. He looked up to meet the silver eyes hidden within the mask before responding.

“Over ninety-five percent of the human race are Idiots and this is me taking a conservative approach. This world does not need new gods but loyal followers. Or would you prefer to see idiots running around with deviant abilities again? Or have you forgotten events of the past thousand years?” Silver asked with a frown and Danny frowned as well.

He could remember the early days of their life when they fought against humans for the sake of humans. They were fighting desperately to save a large number of people who would believe anything shown to them on the screen without doing proper research.

“My method is very simple. Most humans are stupid and lack purpose… I grant them purpose and the leaders amongst them will naturally resist and manifest… then we bring them into our fold and make them members of the nameless family… For a thousand years, I have achieved peace through this method. I don’t appreciate it when someone looks down on my work” Silver said sternly but Danny wasn’t moved.

“There are humans for a reason. Mortals with short life spans. I have no problem with you taking away their chances of awakening deviant abilities. I agree that only a handful of humans are worthy to wield such strength. My point is simple. You have taken away what made them Gods, so treat them like mortals and lower your expectations… kill one more crew member out of anger and I will be your opponent. This is not a threat but a promise” Danny said coldly before walking away.

As the eldest in the group, he had to keep everyone in check. If Alex were still here, Silver wouldn’t dare act recklessly around humans.

He didn’t blame Silver since he is not even human to start with anymore. He lacked emotions now and only has a strong sense of duty. But that doesn’t mean he would overlook his actions and let him do as he wishes.

“Even if these people are worthless and useless in your eyes, the fact they chose to follow you into battle is something. Don’t let them die meaningless deaths” Danny said finally before his body vanished leaving everyone stunned.

The atmosphere in the room became heavy as the crew members felt like the only thing stopping Silver from ripping them apart was gone but strangely, Silver only frowned for a while before looking away. He made no other comments on the matter and acted as if nothing happened.

.....

Who would have thought even someone like Silver still has to listen to Danny?

“You all heard him, take defensive positions, protect the center, and maintain formation. Leave the rest to your Gods” Silver said with an indifferent look and everyone bowed in response.

As the sole gods of this world, they are privileged to have the strength to subdue every race in their universe and turn them against the gods above. Silver is no fool and even without advancing he had a faint idea of how the power of fate works.

A human cannot battle a god but humanity can.

In the end, gods are simply leeches who feed off the power of fate belonging to humanity and all other races.

As long as he can completely obliterate their followers here, these people will have no other source of fate power. As long as Alex Briggs still lives in the higher world, he would be able to capitalize on this advantage.

“I will do my part on this end and you do yours on the other end, old friend…. I don’t know if we will ever be able to meet again but I trust you won’t lose” Silver said with a rare smile on his face. ƒ𝐫𝒆𝐞w𝗲𝚋𝗻૦𝘷e𝙡.c𝑜𝙢

He had tried having people pray to other gods and then pray to Alex. For some reason, he could detect the power of faith leaving them whenever they pray to the other, weakening their soul power but when they pray to Alex there is no reaction.

This originally led him to believe Alex was dead but a thousand years later, he detected the black flame power.

No form of energy could get past his eyes as he could see the world differently. He wasn’t sure how the rules of that world work but it seems Alex has yet to fulfill what it takes to accept the power of faith from people within this universe so the best he can do now is have them pray to him, Danny, Little Alex, and Creed.

Creed once asked if there was still a need for god and he responded positively. If you put a man in a desert and leave him all alone for a while, that man would carve a god out of a stone and pray to it.

Mortals have short lives and refuse to accept the realities of life. Most humans live in worlds in their minds and refuse to see the world for what it truly is. For that reason they need hope!

Hope is the reason why a man will pray for his entire life and still die poor and still be satisfied. Other humans see this yet they still dive into religion. Removing the gods entirely would make them create their gods which will still link back to the deities ruling this universe or they will pray to their fellow man, probably the most successful amongst them.

This is not something that can be changed, it’s just the way mortals really are.

People like him and Alex are considered anomalies in the normal world and rejected by many yet they are the ones standing at the top now. Since it can’t be changed he saw no reason for him not to take advantage of this trait and direct their prayers to the Gods who will actually go out of their way to protect them.

“If you will pray to anyone, it should be those who can actually protect you… look at that screen... Those are your gods…. Pray for their victory, so that you may live!” Silver said coldly as his voice boomed like lightning.
