Chapter 13: Ch 13 - supreme dragon system

As Klaus walked quietly through the silent streets, the faint blue screen stayed in front of his eyes. It was thin, almost like a ghost, but it was there.

The words "SYSTEM INTEGRATION IN PROCESS...." glowed and stayed like that for the whole walk back to the inn.

He felt the cold air on his wet skin. He could feel the small wound on his back. The strange experience with the Dragon God, the fight in the sewers, it all mixed. He just needed to get back to his room.

He slipped into the inn. The lobby was empty except for a few watch guards. He moved silently up the stairs, his new agility making his steps light. He reached his room, unlocked the door, and stepped inside. The room felt safe. He closed the door behind him and leaned against it, breathing out slowly. He was tired. His mind felt like it had been stretched too far.

As he stood there, the blue screen in front of his eyes flickered. The words "SYSTEM INTEGRATION IN PROCESS...." flashed once more, then vanished. A new set of words appeared, bright and clear.

[Supreme Dragon System: Activated]

Klaus blinked. The words settled in his mind. Supreme Dragon System. It sounded grand, even in its simple text form. He felt a faint energy roaring deep inside him, like a new engine starting up. The system was now fully active.

Immediately, a flood of basic information about the system and its functions flowed into his mind. It wasn’t a voice but more like knowing, a direct download of data.

He got to know that the system was semi-sentient. It had some intelligence, but it was not like a person. It would only talk to him directly if his questions were about the inheritance. Other times, it would just give information or respond to his thoughts.

A main panel appeared, stable and clear in his vision. He could see several tabs listed on it.

[Status] [Laws] [Skills] [Quests] [Draw] [Inventory] [Sacrifice & Fuse]

He looked at each one. The meaning of each tab, and its purpose, became clear in his mind as he focused on them.

The [Status] panel, he understood, would give him a quantitative analysis of his powers. It would list all his basic information, like his name, age, and physical condition. It was a summary of his current being.

The [Laws] panel was for the elemental laws. This was where he would track his progress in inheriting the powers from the Dragon God’s children. It was where his journey to become an elemental god would be shown.

The [Skills] panel was simple. It would summarize and organize all his skills, both the ones he absorbed and any he might gain later. It would list their ranks and effects clearly.

The [Quests] section, as its name suggested, would give him tasks. These quests would be assigned directly by the system, guiding him toward specific goals related to his inheritance.

The [Draw] feature was exciting. It would let him get a special item from the Dragon Treasury. It was a lucky draw, meaning he wouldn’t know what he would get. He felt a quick surge of curiosity about what treasures a "Dragon Treasury" might hold.

The [Inventory] was simple but powerful. It was a storage space, and the information told him it was infinite. He could store anything he wanted there, without limit. This was useful.

The [Sacrifice & Fuse] tab had two parts. The Sacrifice function would let him get lucky draw points. He could sacrifice equipment, artifacts, or any other treasures he found. The more valuable the item, the more points he would get.

The Fuse function would let him combine items. He could fuse artifacts or skills if certain conditions were met. This meant he could potentially make his existing powers stronger or create new ones.

Klaus absorbed all this basic information. He felt a mix of happiness and alertness. He had been given a lot of power. This system, combined with his Origin Absorption (Divine) skill, felt like an unstoppable force. But it also meant more responsibility and more danger. He was already seeing the darker side of this new world.

A thought formed in his mind, directed at the system. "Why was I chosen? The Dragon God said I was weak."

The system’s response was direct, appearing as text on the panel and as a clear thought in his mind.

"The system detected that the host possessed a Divine Absorption Skill. This skill is one of a kind. Such a skill can facilitate and help many hidden features of the system. Additionally, the system had a higher chance of nurturing a being possessing a Divine Skill into a god rather than a common person, even if they were of a superior race like dragons themselves."

Klaus felt a new question bubble up.

"Then why was the Dragon God mocking me for being weak and fragile, despite my Divine Skill? He called me ’weak’ multiple times."

The system replied, again with cold, factual clarity. "Because even the Dragon God did not know about the Divine Absorption Skill. Only the system was aware of its presence, true nature and potential."

This answer hit Klaus with a new wave of confusion. "Didn’t the Dragon God make you? How could he have not detected its presence" he asked as if it didn’t make any sense.

The system’s reply was simple "No host, the dragon god didn’t make me, and what you interacted with was only a small projection of the dragon god which is billions of years old in itself that is why it failed to detect your skill otherwise the real being would have identified it from even light years away"

Klaus’s head started to throb again. It was getting overloaded with questions. The sheer scale of every answer he got from the system was too much to digest.

A divine skill, a semi-sentient system, a Dragon God, elemental inheritances... It was all too vast, too grand, too dangerous. He felt a familiar urge to just understand everything, to dig for all the answers.

But then, the memory of the demon worshiper flashed in his mind. The fear, the desperation, the raw brutality of the fight in the sewers.

Had barely survived. Understanding the universe’s biggest secrets wouldn’t help him if he was dead. He needed real power, here and now, to avoid being in that situation again.

He decided to curb his curiosity. He pushed down the urge to ask more. He should just get stronger. That was the most important thing.

He took a deep breath. He then focused on the main panel. He needed to check his current strength. He chose the [Status] panel.

The screen changed. The new status panel was different from his previous, simple one. It was more detailed, showing new categories.

---------------

1.[STATUS]

Name - Klaus

Age - 20

Bloodline - Human (Devouring dragon bloodline (Unawakened)

Realm - Mortal

Grade - C

------------------------------

Klaus read through it slowly.

Name, age... okay.

Bloodline....?

This was new. It confirmed that the Dragon God’s words were real. He now had a locked Devouring Dragon bloodline. Klaus remembered the dragon god telling him that he was called a devouring dragon famously.

Then came ’Realm’ and ’Grade’. He focused on these words, sending a silent question to the system.

"please explain this panel a bit"

The system immediately explained, flowing directly into his mind.

"Bloodline indicates your genetic heritage and any powerful legacies within it."

"Realm is the stage of power a being is in. It is a universal measurement, applicable across all realities. It defines the overall strength and comprehension of universal laws a being possesses. The people of Earth, for example, are currently stuck in the Mortal Realm only."

"Grade is a subdivision of a Realm, indicating your precise power level within that Realm. In the mortal realm, Grades range from F to SSS.

The highest grade of the Mortal Realm is SSS. After a being reaches SSS Grade in the Mortal Realm, a new Realm of power begins, signifying a fundamental leap in strength and cosmic understanding."

Klaus processed the information. So, he was a Mortal, Grade C. He had a long way to go.

SSS in the Mortal Realm, then a new Realm entirely. The scale of power was vast, extending far beyond the ranks he knew. He was just at the beginning of an impossible journey.

Klaus sighed collecting himself together. He first cleaned himself up and then changed into his clothes.

[ DING !! Congratulations host, A newbie gift pack has been awarded ]

Klaus looked at the notification with hazy eyes he was quite tired from the battle and everything that had happened so far.

So he decided to rest for a minute and then open the gift pack, and with that, he laid back on the bed which now felt a million times more comfortable than before.

[ Auth-note - first an absorption cheat then a dragon system, it may all sound stupid to some but trust me, everything has a reason]
