Chapter 317: Killing machine

One could think that, when surrounded by a group of people using guns, it is impossible to pull through. In fact, when you are a normal human, without high speed, good reflexes, or amazing strength, that’s generally the case.

Casper was aware of this fact from the start. However, now he had the power to overcome this.

The soldier had enough speed to close the distance between him and the Frelsi and begin his rush among their lines. It was easy to deal with various armed enemies that were in a closed place like the throne room when one could short the distance before being shot. This way, they wouldn’t be able to open fire on him, because they would surely target an ally once they did so.

After injecting Berserker in himself, the White warrior gained a boost on his body. Berserker didn’t give the person more strength than he already has, but it makes your brain push your muscles to their peak, making you reach the kind of power that you wouldn’t naturally or intentionally use not to harm yourself.

After all, humans can’t always be at their 100% while using their physical capabilities, because the brain interprets that it would be bad management of energy and a huge physical worn.

Berseker broke these boundaries that our minds naturally imposed on our bodies, and the result was a boost in strength, speed, and other capabilities of one’s body.

As for the exhaustion that came while using all your power at once and for long periods, it was also nullified for Berseker. The drug raised the adrenaline in someone’s blood until all their body became numb and no pain or exhaustion was felt. Also, it disabled some parts of your nervous system, canceling any discomfort caused by injuries.

Besides all these points, this drug was responsible to trigger certain parts of your brain. When these parts get overstimulated, the person will become like a ferocious animal. They wouldn’t think logically anymore, nor be aware of their surroundings. This person would just become a hunter that would kill anything in front of him.

Nevertheless, Casper was different from that. He was completely conscious of what he was doing and that’s why he got so powerful. Now, his mind could keep up with his body, creating the most perfect and deadly killing machine among those in that room.

Even though the Frelsi were changing their strategy in order to fight Casper in close combat range, and others were expecting the right time to shoot him, they weren’t capable to catch up with the relentless attacks of the White warrior. Not in that state.

Nonetheless, as time passed, the soldier got more and more harm. Even though he didn’t get any blow that could knock him down, some scratches here and there were appearing.

Those three minutes that Yanke assumed to be enough to teleport them seemed like three hours now.

Canute, who could only watch everything amazed but not doing anything, felt like an entire day had passed.

Things became difficult at some point for the White warrior. Even though his body didn’t diminish his pace, the Frelsis were getting bolder and landing on him better blows. They weren’t just standing up there and waiting for that beast to come at them, they were fighting back, and it was working even though so many were dying in the process.

The white marble of the throne room was covered with blood at that point. Limbs were spread on the ground as Casper’s swings seemed like a scythe reaping a plantation.

’Where is she? Where is she!? I killed so many people already, so why isn’t she showing up!?’

The soldier decapitated another Frelsi, before getting his gun and a grenade from his body swiftly. He wasn’t reloading his guns at all, just stealing his enemy’s weapons and using them as he pleased.

He opened the grenade with his teeth and threw it in the ground randomly, killing numerous Frelsis in the process.

His legs never stopped to work. He knew that he couldn’t cease his run. If he did so, he would become an easy target. Also, the Frelsis were splitting into groups, trying to create some space so they would have more advantage over him, which made Casper need to travel between each group as fast as he could not to lose momentum and being targeted.

His eyes moved through the battlefield as if he was just darting around, but the adrenaline in his blood was making his mind work at 220%. In truth, he was analyzing the situation, making the best decision possible, and entering into action.

He reached another group of Frelsis, moving his blade around and shooting to all sides. It was not a random attack, though. All his movements were well calculated. In a matter of seconds, he killed a group of 8 people.

A nearby group aimed their guns at him, seeing an opportunity. However, the soldier again threw another grenade, letting go of the pistol he got and stealing another one. He also needed to change that machete to a knife of one of the Frelsi, because its blade was getting dull.

’My right arm has a deep cut. Someone pierced through my trunk two times, probably there are organs harmed. Both my legs, my back, and my left arm were targeted by bullets. My body still works as it should, but at some point, it will collapse...’

’You don’t need to worry anymore, Master. Time is out.’

Casper bit his lips in frustration.

’I still didn’t find her. I still couldn’t make her pay for everything! I can’t just leave now!’

’Sorry. I can’t obey you, nor comprehend your feelings right now. I know that you are feeling frustrated, though. Anyway... there are more important things.’

The soldier got what he meant, glancing at Vick and Canute who were still lying on the ground.

’Okay, Yanke. Please, take us out of here.’

’As you please, Master.’

Suddenly, a blinding light engulfed Casper, Vick, and Canute. In the last moment, before he could be teleported, Casper saw Camilla finally appearing among the crowd, and joyfully showing to him something. It seemed like a card, a white card.

Then, they vanished.
