Divine Artifact in a Scientific World-Chapter 138: Got it bad
Chapter 138: Got it bad
Hot Damn! I wonder what her non-vanilla fantasies are?
He thought about to asking her what kinds of fantasies she had about him, but decided to wait, since he still needed to finish his current line of questioning. He was also pleased because it seemed like she’d been hot for him for a long time, well before his soul was strengthened.
"Can you tell me why you had, have, a crush on me? I obviously didn’t have a harem back then. So what was it about me that attracted you?"
Usually, it was the girl asking the guy this kind of question. But he wanted to understand her motivations so he could at least try to set aside his concerns about soul strength interference.
"I...Um...It’s hard to describe. There’s just this, um, intense seriousness about you. And the way you organized your notes, or asked question in class, or just seemed to not care at all about the opinions of others, or...the way you looked at me, or the way you would roll your shoulders, or run your fingers through your hair, or scrunch your eyes when you think something is bullshit, or...just a million other things."
"Damn, girl, you got it bad," muttered Miranda.
Samantha glanced at Miranda while saying, "I know, right?"
Then, looking back and Jack, she said, "I was really upset when Madison told me she and you were together. I...I had to get my mom to call the principal so they could rearrange my classes so I didn’t share any with you, otherwise it would have been torture. I even tried going out on a few dates, like my mom suggested, but everything they did just reminded me of you. When you actually called, I almost screamed in joy."
She paused for a moment. "I...there were times when I wished I didn’t feel like this. And now that I’m finally here, with you, I..." she sighed. "I dread this day ending."
This was some heavy shit. She sounded a little like Madison, but didn’t seem crazy-obsessed, just craving him intensely. From the way she described things, she had wanted him intensely for a long time and any effect his soul strength was having on her was buried under her existing desire for him.
What really hit home for him was that she was the first girl he knew, excluding Madison, that had clearly wanted him long before Genesis Heart changed his soul. It was intensely flattering and soothed some part of him that Miranda’s attention hadn’t reached.
If he offered her a soul bond, without even talking to her about it in a simulation, he was almost certain she’d accept.
After some thought, he decided he would offer her a soul bond, but only after talking to her in a simulation. It was the only way to tell her about how to make the bond stronger. But there was no need to rush.
He reached over and patted her leg, then gave it a quick squeeze. "Buckle up."
As soon as she was buckled up, he pulled away from the curb.
They drove in silence for a few minutes before Samantha said, "Hey, what was that you said about leg humping?"
Miranda snickered.
Jack told Samantha about his encounter with Wendy at Club Velvet, finishing with, "Then a club manager showed up and told us to cool it or we’d get banned."
"Wow, that’s hot. I wish I was there to see it."
"Can you explain why it’s hot? I mean, usually girls are jealous and possessive. So why are you so turned on by Miranda being with me and girls humping my leg?"
"Hmm," she thought for a moment, then said, "You know how confident guys don’t mind their girl getting ogled? How instead they’re like, ’Yeah, look what I got, aren’t you jealous?’"
"Sure, I guess."
"So, it’s a bit like that for me. Only it’s more of a ’Ooh, my guy makes all the girls wet, but he chose to be with me!’"
"But doesn’t him being with multiple girls just make it worse? Wouldn’t you rather have him all to yourself?" asked Miranda.
He knew Miranda was just playing devil’s advocate with her question.
"Why would I want to be with a guy that can only hold down one girl? What’s it say about me if I’m the only girl he can attract? I’d much rather be with a guy that can hold down multiple girls and still want to be with me. The fact that multiple girls are willing to tolerate sharing him just means he’s extra quality. And if he can have any girl, then him choosing me means he thinks I’m extra quality."
"Okay. But isn’t that true for most rich guys? They all could have multiple girlfriends if they wanted," he asked.
"But do they? How may rich guys out there can actually flaunt a harem? Even most of the billionaires seem to only have one wife. Besides, you’re not rich and you already have four girlfriends. That’s extra hot."
Miranda choked on a laugh when Samantha claimed he wasn’t rich.
Samantha glanced back at her, then looked at him and said, "What?"
He glared at Miranda through the rearview mirror, then said to Samantha, "Private joke, just ignore her."
"Uh huh." Samantha didn’t sound convinced.
Changing the subject, he asked, "So, tell me a bit about yourself. All I know is that you are friends with Katie, read papers on quantum tunneling, and have a huge lady boner for guys with harems."
Miranda giggled at his last comment.
"Um, okay," said Samantha. "Where to even start? Um... Okay, my dad died when I was two and mom’s been raising me alone ever since. She works for a housecleaning service, and never managed to save enough to pay for my college, so it was a real stroke of luck when I was awarded a scholarship to NSU."
He’d been thinking of hiring a service to clean his mansion once they moved in. Maybe he’d look into hiring Samantha’s mom.
And he doubted it was not luck that got her that scholarship.
"Do you think your mom would object if she found out you’re dating a guy with four other girlfriends?"
