Divine Convenience Store-Chapter 135: Setting up a Duel
Jiang Jianxin met his gaze and firmly nodded, her hand moving to the hilt of her sword.
Even with only that gesture, her sword intent was already visible around her. Many weaker cultivators stepped back, afraid to be cut unknowingly.
"Indeed. Since the Ironclad Blood Sect cultivators believe that strength dictates respect, why not settle this with a proper match? That way, we can determine whether they have the right to look down on your store’s rules."
The scar-faced cultivator let out a scoff. He crossed his arms, sneering at the suggestion. "Hah! You think a mere match will change anything? Besides, why should I waste my time dueling some soft-spoken sword fairy? You think your flowery sword techniques can match real battle experience?"
The surrounding crowd gasped. The audacity of this man to speak so dismissively of Jiang Jianxin, one of the most well-known sword prodigies in the entire Eastern Abyssal Domain was baffling.
Jiang Jianxin remained composed. "Oh? If you’re so confident, then this match should be over in an instant, no? I’ll even give you a handicap. Go and pay for what you bought. You’re free to use anything in our match."
A murmur rippled through the crowd. The confident tone of the Sword Fairy suggested that despite their similarity in cultivation level, the scar-faced cultivator from the Ironclad Blood Sect was no match for her.
Lin Mo’s sly grin was growing wider, hidden under his features. He’s already calculating how much this will net the store.
"Boss! Leave the betting stall to me." Liu Xiaoyu sent a voice transmission. When he glanced at her, she made her usual playful gesture.
"Alright. Have Xiao Ya take your place there. Then go ahead and move to the multipurpose hall to prepare."
Liu Xiaoyu immediately darted away, bringing back the young girl to take over the cash register before she dashed away to the [Divine Arena & Exhibition Hall].
Turning his attention back to the brewing commotion, Lin Mo clapped his hands together.
"Alright, I like this idea. Since the Ironclad Blood Sect cultivators seem so convinced of their strength, why don’t we make this interesting? The Divine Convenience Store will host this duel in our [Divine Arena & Exhibition Hall]."
Lin Mo didn’t mention how disrespectful the gray-robed cultivators were anymore. All he had in his head was to profit from them. Just like how he extorted at least 10 high-grade spirit stones from each Silver Lotus Hall agent.
The regular customers who had witnessed the two exhibitions that had been shown for the past two days started buzzing in excitement.
"The Divine Arena? We’re going to have another show! Ready your spirit stones! I’m betting all-in on the Sword Fairy."
"No one has dared to rent it yet, but the Shopkeeper had to open it to deal with the troublesome customers. It doubles as showing them how wonderful this establishment is! We’ll see if they can still look down on the Divine Convenience Store after it."
"Fairy Jiang! We’re all rooting for you!"
The gray-robed cultivators all had a sour look on their faces as everyone seemed to side with the Sword Fairy. They hissed and grumbled while making scary faces as if they’re trying to intimidate everyone.
Alas. They’re not that scary.
Not minding everyone’s reaction, Lin Mo continued, his expression making everyone praise him for his forbearance.
"As this was going to be an official match held under the store’s facilities, there will be a stake involved."
He turned toward the Ironclad Blood Sect cultivators.
"If your Elder wins, I will allow exemption for your group to cut in line as much as you want and not be reminded to behave within our store’s premises. However…" His smile deepened as he shifted his gaze to Jiang Jianxin. "If Fairy Jiang wins, then the Ironclad Blood Sect members must abide by the store’s rules in absolute silence. No complaints, no snide remarks, and certainly no looking down on our store or any of our customers."
"Otherwise, I will have to ban your whole sect from purchasing any products offered by our store. I will be revoking the ’Convenience’ that even the Poison Demon Cult gets from us. I hate to see it, you see? That a member of the Neutral Faction is going to get the ban first instead of the member of the Evil Faction."
The scar-faced cultivator’s eyes narrowed. He had initially scoffed at the idea of a duel, but the way Lin Mo said those words had already put their sect’s reputation down the drain.
They’re getting compared to a ’cult’! A part of him was regretting his choice to look down on the store and provoke them.
But he couldn’t back down anymore. He just had to win the duel, right? The Sword Fairy had a similar reputation as him when it comes to strength. She was simply well-known because of her beauty and elegance.
The scar-faced cultivator, Elder Hu, scoffed. "Hmph, fine! I’ll humor this charade and crush this so-called Sword Fairy in front of everyone."
He turned to his fellow sect members and barked, "Pay for our things. I’ll show these self-righteous fools the might of the Ironclad Blood Sect."
One of his subordinates reluctantly fished out some spirit stones and settled the payment at the counter. At this, the customers let them cut in line to make sure that it would be done quickly.
As the Divine Convenience Store had its own way of ensuring transactions were honored, no one dared to make trouble at the cash register.
Jiang Jianxin’s lips curled slightly. "A fair wager. We’ll leave this to you, Shopkeeper."
Lin Mo spread his arms. "Well then, since both sides agree, let’s move to the [Divine Arena & Exhibition Hall]."
Upon saying that, he began guiding them to the double door located at the innermost part of the store.
The massive doors gleamed with an otherworldly luster that could never be seen anywhere in the realm.
Lin Mo pushed them open, a vast, magnificent space of the grand multipurpose hall was revealed within.
A surge of energy swept over everyone present. Aside from those who’d already stepped inside the hall previously, even the arrogant Ironclad Blood Sect cultivators found their expressions shifting, feeling an inexplicable weight pressing upon them. Sword Fairy Jiang Jianxin and the rest of the Cerulean Cloud Sword Sect also couldn’t help but stare in awe at the magnificent space that sprawled before them.

They were hit with not just the grandeur of the place but also the feeling of stepping into a domain beyond their comprehension.
"Welcome to the [Divine Arena & Exhibition Hall]," Lin Mo announced with a casual smile as his sharp eyes scanned the crowd for their reactions.
