Divine Emperor of Death-Chapter 4482: A Temporary Reunion
Chapter 4482: A Temporary Reunion
"They’re doing well..."
Davis let Clara go, taking a step back and answering with a comforting smile.
"In fact, they have even given me an Imagery Stone that has their thoughts and wishes for you in case I was able to meet you somewhere in my adventures, although I’m pretty much grounded by your master at the moment..."
He chuckled, holding out an expensive Imagery Stone, a Luminarch Memory Veil Stone.
Clara stared at it, appearing to be stunned.
The Heaven’s Warriors had almost neared them in order to break them up, but seeing the Divine Emperor of Death let her go, they stopped in their tracks, pointing at him with expressions as though they had eaten something sour.
How could an evil being touch their goddess?
It didn’t matter if they were siblings before. Now, they were in totally different worlds. They couldn’t help but feel it was atrocious!
However, when they turned to look back at Venerable Knight Lussandra, thinking she would have something to say, she didn’t even look at them, keeping an eye on the sealed portal to the Nether Dimension.
The Heaven’s Warriors were confused.
Was she not afraid that the Divine Emperor of Death would take this chance to kill his little sister since he tried to claim her life back then, even with a full-powered attack when they saved her from him? Was it because of the Covenant that disallows him from killing Heaven’s Warriors?
They were from the Greater Realms, so they couldn’t understand heads or tails.
They had just set out from their respective organizations in order to accompany Clara, but to see them interacting with Divergents like this was some kind of vacation was completely new to them and, honestly, blasphemous that it short-circuited their minds.
Their learnings said that this clearly shouldn’t happen. However, their leader, Clara, was speaking with the Divine Emperor of Death so casually.
"Thank you, brother."
Clara was oblivious to her fellow Heaven’s Warriors’ emotions. She reached out her hand, wanting to take the Luminarch Memory Veil Stone from his hand, but Davis pulled it back.
"Come home."
Clara paused.
Davis added, "They want to see you badly. Mother probably cried day and night for a few days, and father might’ve been pissed, but they didn’t say anything to me, knowing I’ll feel bad."
Clara trembled ever so lightly, but she slowly took her hand back, "I’m sorry, brother. I can’t be that arbitrary in my actions. Even speaking to you in this close manner, I’m breaking many laws and virtues that a Heaven’s Warrior should have."
"I know, I know." Davis wryly smiled.
How could he not know when he had a Heaven’s Warrior at home? Occasionally, Fairy Runalise came complaining and investigating if he was up to something, but she never caught on to his plans.
"Fine, take it..."
Davis stretched out his hand and gave her the Luminarch Memory Veil Stone, forcibly placing it in her hand, "There’s also the recording of your siblings, sister-in-laws, and my children wishing you well during the time when we gathered together. Some of them don’t even know you, but they heard stories about you..."
Clara smiled, accepting it, but kept it in her spatial ring, "I’ll watch it when I’m alone."
Davis nodded satisfactorily.
He smiled, but there was a hint of sadness in his eyes. He guessed if they spoke more, then she might get in trouble. That’s why he didn’t use soul transmissions, either. Although he was confident that they couldn’t pry open the message, they could still sense transmissions. He couldn’t allow her to be bullied just because of talking to him more than necessary or being suspected of heresy by speaking with him secretly.
"Is that your new powers?" Davis pointed toward the seal, "Is it physique-based?"
Even at a glance, he could tell that it was extremely durable. His chaos-destruction attacks could break it, but for other attacks, he didn’t have the confidence. He was inwardly proud.
"Partly, yes."
Clara nodded to his question.
"It’s called Sealing Laws. I fused Mandate Laws, Ice Laws, Space Laws, and Time Laws in order to comprehend this Law."
"Fusion of Four Laws!?"
Davis turned to look at her with wide eyes. That should be a Top-Tier Supreme Law, at the very least.
"Indeed. It could be learned by those who mastered all four Laws, but my physique makes it more powerful. The heaven and earth move to my commands. My seals are absolute, both physically and mentally, even karmically. Even normal attacks that are two minor stages higher than the seal could forget about breaking it easily."
Davis gawked.
No wonder his little sister was so confident in dealing with the Nether Devils.
Still, power aside, he was worried about his little sister’s life. She was already three hundred and twenty-one years old.
He was not sure if she could be called his little sister anymore. Nevertheless, this brought him some life aspects that he wanted a hand in but couldn’t have a say in anymore.
He hesitated a bit but still asked, "What about marriage? Are you seeing someone?"
Clara blinked, "No, brother. Why would I think about marriage when my focus is to get stronger and vanquish evil?"
"I see..."
Davis nodded. He thought she would be getting a lot of proposals since she was the Celestial Transcendent’s personal disciple. News on her was hard to get since she’s in the Greater Realm. News about Heaven’s Warriors was much more tight-lipped unless it was their achievements about vanquishing calamities and obliterating invaders.
"I heard Heaven’s Warriors don’t marry unless they’re ten thousand years old at the very least. Is that true?" Davis asked, hearing it from Fairy Runalise.
"Yes," Clara lightly nodded, "In reality, female Heaven’s Warriors would marry much later. Some don’t marry at all. I know I’m the latter since I have no intentions to marry ever."
"Ah, don’t be like that. Mother would be sad if she doesn’t see her grandchildren from her first daughter."
Davis shook his hands, causing Clara to smile deeply as she imagined the scene of her mother begging her.
She had so many things to say... so many matters to share, but words wouldn’t come out because all she could feel was a sense of warmth that she liked to keep from fading away. She realized that she liked to just hear her brother speak incessantly, trying to see if everything was okay with her.
Davis tried to convince her that life wasn’t just practicing cultivation, but Clara didn’t say a word. He was worried about this child staying single all her life. He couldn’t be there for her, so he didn’t want her to be lonely. This child nearly cried in his arms when he hugged her. She acted cold, but he knew she was soft at heart. How could he let her be lonely?
"Where’s Xiaolan, that little lass? Is she keeping you company?"
