Lenny was mesmerized by the fact that the term shadow familiar was known to the Great House Night and even to their archenemies.

Yet it was kept a secret from him.

He knew it wasn’t because he wasn’t at the right age to know about this secret but it was kept deliberately from him.

But regardless of what had happened.

Lenny wouldn’t let himself be overwhelmed right now, not when there’s an assasin in front of him.

Ready to kill him at any given moment.

He was facing against a Rank 2 Fallen Regulator, the heiress of the notorious Den of Thieves.

He could tell what her Fallen Rune abilities were.

It could steal both Fallen Runes and rune classes. Personally storing them and using them how she wanted.

And after watching her fight, he knew one thing was certain.

She was still a Rank 2 Fallen Regulator and deeply restricted by her Fallen Rune.

She can’t use two Fallen Runes at a time.

One had to be deactivated but he was different.

There were no such rules for him, he could use all his Fallen Runes simultaneously.

Lenny had deeply hidden his strength while battling this thief initially.

Only revealing his Rune of Revival.

He was yet to reveal his Rune of Mindcraft, keeping that one for a sneak attack.

There was still one empty slot.

This time he exposed his shadow familiar.

X stood firmly, a Level 1 Wanderer rank Apocalypse creature.

Although it couldn’t talk yet but it could think like Lenny, scheme like Lenny and act like Lenny.

X was a living entity on its own, although still linked to its original.

X opened the dimension storage and brought out the pair of Myraid Shooters.

This was the Fallen Relics it was mostly familiar with, while Lenny was skilled with the Sandel Crimson Dual Daggers.

Lenny breathed in deeply, his eyes flickered.

Crystal watched everything while unfazed, she stepped forward.

Bang!

X fired his first shots, Crystal was quick as she sliced through the bullets with ease.

She superspede, launching a direct attack against the shadow familiar but X using Lenny’s sharp instincts evaded the slash.

It fell back, responding with more bullets.

Meanwhile Lenny launched a sneak attack from behind, directing his grade 2 Fallen Relics against her.

Crystal sensed it, two summoning magic circles appeared simultaneously, a loud roar tore through space.

"What the...." Lenny frowned slightly, he did a backflip, evading the metallic club swung against him.

Crystal had used her sorcery to enchant two summons in a split second, bringing forth two Level 6 Wanderers.

Crystal glanced at X once again, she wanted to destroy this Familiar first before the real body.

She dashed forward, closing the distance between herself and X when she swung down her blade.

X staggered back, evading the grade 5 Fallen Relic.

The air shook vigorously.

And X was sent flying by the intense pressure that tore through space and time.

Grade 5 Fallen Relics were not ordinary or easy to handle, this certified Crystal’s willpower.

And determination to crush Lenny.

She hesitated not for a second as she launched another attack, she blinked.

Her summons vanished the second she teleported behind X, giving Lenny time to recover.

Lenny’s lips curled into a dark grin, he chuckled.

He had initially imagined the Rune of Flames but only transferred it to X when it was necessary.

X felt it’s original’s gifts and it’s lips curled faintly.

Crystal’s eyes widened in shock the moment she sensed something was wrong.

X fell back, creating distance between itself and Crystal when it opened fire once again.

But this time.....

Things were different.

The bullets were augmented by intense pressure, the Rune of Flames increasing it’s lethality.

Crystal swung her blade against the slice through the bullets when a collision occured.

A vast explosion shook the chamber.

Crystal was sent flying by the impact, "Finally, an opportunity" Lenny grinned evily.

He stretched forth his hand.

RUNE OF MINDCRAFT!

Not giving Crystal the chance to recover, he unleashed his Fallen Rune, flooding her brain with Informations.

Incapacitating her for a minute.

Lenny may possess a Divine rank Fallen Rune but he was still undoubtedly a Rank 1 Fallen Regulator.

Heavily restricted by his rank.

Just stepping into the middle stage after countless kills from whatever had occured outside of his knowledge.

But Crystal is no doubt a Rank 2 Fallen Regulator, a Rank above him.

She wasn’t only faster but stronger than him, her intuition and senses were more heightened.

Even in this incapacitated state, she could still think.

’This is dangerous’ She growled, ’I underestimated this bastard’ Her gaze slightly tilted.

She saw him rushing.

Lenny’s eyes flickered with determination to kill her.

He wasn’t going to show mercy to who wants him dead.

Seeing that the distance between them were still far and he only had a few seconds while she was frozen.

Lenny clenched onto his dagger and he unleashed it directly, the air shook vigorously.

Lenny threw his dagger with precision against Crystal, "Keeuuukkk" Crystal coughed out blood from her mouth.

The dagger strucked her chest, just an inch away from piercing deep into her heart.

This was also one of her Fallen Runes.

Belonging to the Hidden Path.

The Rune of Luck!

She had stolen this Fallen Rune when she was ten years old, forced to hunt her age mate who possessed this Fallen Rune.

She had used this Fallen Rune to augment her luck and narrowly evade death.

But she wasn’t able to escape the pain, Crystal was sent crashing on the ground.

Struggling to suppress the pain when Lenny appeared before her, he grabbed her by the face.

Slamming her head on the wall, Crystal gritted her teeths, she swung her blade without care.

Lenny lost an arm, causing him to stagger back.

He quickly fell back, creating distance between them.

His eyebrows furrowed, Lenny bled profusely having lost an arm but he wasn’t showing any signs of weakening.

His Rune of Revival had already began making its move.

Crystal took a deep breath, she softly exhaled "I must confess" She paused for a second, "I truly had underestimated you, the last descendant of the Great House Night"

"I thought since you simply had a shadow clone and self regeneration, you wouldn’t be much of a threat"

She stepped forward, she also had a Rune of Revival in her arsenal.

Her eyebrows furrowed "I know everyone has their own secrets but I never expected yours to be this huge"

"You aren’t a Child of Shadows, Lenny Night"

"You are an Unknown, aren’t you?"
