"So what you’re trying to say is an expedition party composed of two leading Rank 2 Fallen Regulators and four Rank 1 Fallen Regulators all perished in a single D-tier Dungeon"

"Leaving only a Rank 1 Fallen Regulator alive? And unscathed at that?" A loud baritone voice resounded through the office room.

This was Earth, and the headquarters of a top ranking Guild.

The Tempest Glory Guild.

Sitted in his office was the Grandmaster of the Tempest Glory Guild, a Rank 7 Lord titled Fallen Regulator.

Amyruis Hednegon.

A middle-aged Amyruis was draped in his blue suit, with a red knotted tie glistening in the sunlight.

His eyes flickered as he went through the reports he had received.

His eyebrows slightly furrowed, prompting him to raise his head a little, he glared at the entity who had tabled this report.

"Is this all true?" Amyruis questioned.

The entity, a Rank 3 Fallen Regulator nodded, he gulped, swallowing his saliva before summoning the courage to speak "ye....yes...yes your Eminence, we had confirmed with the source before reporting to you" He stammered.

He was putting on a jet-black trench coat and a half-top hat, his smiles beautiful yet nervous.

Amyruis breathed in deeply "I would have immediately dismissed this report if I hadn’t confirmed the name"

He lay back on his arm-chair, reminiscing, his eyelid twitched for a second "Lenny Night" He whispered.

"What exactly is that child’s Fallen Rune?" Amyruis questioned.

The Rank 3 Fallen Regulator hesitated for a second before answering "Based on the records received by the Regulator’s Association"

"Lenny Night is a confirmed Child of Shadows but also a healer since he possess a secondary Fallen Rune"

"A Rune of Revival" the Rank 3 Fallen Regulator explained.

Amyruis nodded "And what are their Fallen Ranks?" He asked.

"Both are of the Rare rank sir" the Rank 3 Fallen Regulator immediately answered.

Amyruis couldn’t help but sigh, he lingered for a few seconds "A Rank 1 Fallen Regulator with two Rare rank Fallen Runes"

"How was he able to survive in a Dungeon where Rank 2 Fallen Regulators died?" He asked.

The Rank 3 Fallen Regulator shook his head "I don’t know sir, I too have the same doubts in mind"

He hesitated for a second before continuing "Buijun Guild is a lower ranking Guild which controls only one Sanctuary"

"And they’re also our vassals as well, they have limited informations regarding the Regulator’s society"

"So it won’t be easy for them to uncover the truth regarding the incident" The Rank 3 Fallen Regulator stated.

Amyruis raised an eyebrow "Oh? What are you trying to insinuate? Pero" The Lord questioned.

The Rank 3 Fallen Regulator identified as Pero chuckled softly, his lips curled into a grin "Lord Amyruis, it’s been rumored that this was an assasination" He answered.

Amyruis observed Pero for a moment before sighing "An assasination attempt huh?" He chuckled, "That should be normal...."

"After all.....the target is Lenny Night" Lord Amyruis eyes flickered, "The Nights were a Great House whose existence remained unknown but their tyranny shook the world"

"Even the other Great Houses were relieved when the Nights fell" Amyruis stated.

"So tell me Pero, who was responsible for this assasination attempt?" Lord Amyruis asked.

As a titled Lord in the Regulator’s society, and a Rank 7 Fallen Regulator.

There weren’t many things capable of drawing his attention, he was closer to the peak.

Closer to Rank 9.

That’s what he cared about, those who were on his rank and higher than him.

Why should he care about a measly Rank 1 Fallen Regulator?

The only reason why Lenny still remained relevant in this Regulator’s society is because of his last name.

The Nights was a name which strucked fear in the hearts of every Fallen Regulator.

Silence reigned in the office room as Pero lingered for a second, "Although the Great Houses are yet to confirm"

"But it’s rumored that the Den of Thieves had unleashed their heiress to erase the name of the Nights" Pero explained.

Amyruis chuckled softly "The Cult of Greed made a move and yet they failed to kill one Rank 1 Fallen Regulator?"

"What about the heiress, is she still alive?" Lord Amyruis asked.

Pero nodded "Yes" He smiled, "But her condition remains unknown, but she’s rumored to have sustained injuries during the assasination attempt"

Amyruis gaze darkened the moment he heard Pero’s answer, "Then that means Lenny Night is no ordinary Fallen Regulator"

"It’s either he has someone backing him or he is in possession of a powerful Fallen Relic inherited from the Nights"

Amyruis couldn’t help but sigh "For now, keep observing the kid....."

"Let the Association handle the investigation regarding the deaths of my vassal members" Lord Amyruis had made up his mind not to get involved.

He wasn’t cautious about a Rank 1 Fallen Regulator but even in death.

He still feared the name of the Nights!

Lenny was silent as he observed Corinthian from where he stood, this caused Corinthian to raise an eyebrow "What?" He asked.

Lenny shook his head "Nothing, I’m just wondering where the hell were you this entire time?"

"Back in the Labyrinth of Ashura, I lost all connections with you, it was like you were erased from existence"

"Only uncle Lex showed his face, the rest didn’t even bother to appear, including mother and father"

Lenny sighed deeply "You all got me worried, I’m not going to lie"

Corinthian’s lips curled faintly "Awwww, you got me in tears buddy" He giggled.

Lenny’s eyebrows furrowed "Is that supposed to be a joke?" He asked.

Corinthian shrugged "I don’t know, you tell me" He smirked, "And besides like I told you, I was busy in the Labyrinth"

Lenny frowned slightly "You were in the Labyrinth as well? And busy?" he paused for a second, "What were you busy with?" He asked.

Corinthian stared at Lenny in disbelief, he slightly shook his head "You really are daft aren’t you? Didn’t I ask you to leave that lousy group to me?"

Lenny was stunned "Wait a damn minute, I found the boss monster dead, the K&B party dead as well...."

"Was that your doing?" Lenny asked.

Corinthian shrugged, "Sure, I made that filthy group pay for slandering the name of the Nights"

"And as for the boss monster, there’s no need for you to tha...." Before Corinthian could complete his statement.

Lenny burst into an uproar of laughter.

Corinthian frowned upon Lenny’s action, "Did I mention something funny?" He asked.

Lenny giggled, "Yeah you did, I still don’t get what’s the point of lying this badly?" Lenny asked.

Corinthian raised an eyebrow "Lie?" His eyelid twitched, "Why would a proud scion like me lie about something so trivial?" He growled.

Lenny sighed "I don’t care why you lied but all I know is that it’s a lie, there’s no way a simple hallucination like you could kill that party"

Lenny thought for a second, "But if I should recall, I did sense the aura of a Nightmare and a Titan in a D-tier Dungeon"

"Something was definitely wrong with that Dungeon" Lenny sighed.

Corinthian wanted to retort but all he could do was snort, Lenny was going to doubt him no matter how hard he tried to prove himself.

And the fact that Lenny still isn’t aware meant their parents still wants it to be kept a secret from him.

He withdrew from the argument, maintaining his silence while Lenny was in deep thoughts.

Lenny’s train of thoughts was quickly interuppted by a loud beep.

His phone rang.

A message alert, Lenny quickly as he grabbed his smartphone from the table.

He unlocked the phone, checking through the old messages he had received while away.

His lips suddenly curled up, Corinthian noticed his grin "What is it?" The young boy asked.

Lenny tilted his gaze, he glanced at Corinthian for a second, "A summon letter" He answered.

Corinthian couldn’t help but sigh "So it’s finally starting huh?"

Lenny nodded, "Its definitely the Great Houses who pulled this strings to investigate me"

"They’re still wary of me, and that’s because of our family’s undisputed name" He smirked.

"But that isn’t all, is it?" Lenny asked, Corinthian glanced at Lenny with a confused look on his face.

"What do you meant by that?" He asked, with his arms folded, Lenny sighed "I’m not dumb, Corinthian...."

"There’s a reason why the Great Houses fear the Nights despite being part of them"

"There’s a reason why the Den of Thieves are desperate to destroy me and erase our name"

"I want to know what that reason is"

"What is a Familiar?" Lenny questioned, Corinthian raised an eyebrow, he was dumbstrucked.

Unable to answer the question.

Lenny observed Corinthian before waving his hand, "You really do know what the Familiars truly are huh?"

"That meant it was only kept a secret from me, but why?" He asked.

Corinthian sighed softly, "That’s not a question I can answer"

Lenny nodded "I know that, that’s why I’m going to uncover the truth myself"
