Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Looking for Someone

"Mika, don’t tell Tristan about this." With that, Caleb Grayson hung up.

She didn’t get a chance to ask her dad where Maggie was. Looking at Tristan, she didn’t know whether to help him or not.

Tristan’s expression was grim, a complex look in his eyes. He snatched the phone from her hand and dialed a number. "Henry Archer, find me the best brain cancer hospitals abroad. Right now!"

"Yes."

If treatment had been an option, he would have taken Maggie to get it long ago.

By doing this, his dad was clearly using the hospital as a way to indirectly harm Maggie.

Along the way, Mika watched as he made one phone call after another, barking out orders.

Watching how frantic he was, Mika felt for the first time that she truly was an unforgivable villain.

’If it weren’t for me, maybe his parents wouldn’t have sent Maggie away to keep them apart.’

At that thought, she grabbed Tristan’s arm. "Tristan, take me to see your parents."

"What are you trying to do? I don’t have time for your games right now." Tristan shook her hand off in disgust and said coldly.

"Tristan, you’ve got it wrong. I just want to ask your dad which hospital he sent Maggie to. That way, you won’t have to search for her blindly."

"You’d better not be lying to me."

「One hour later, at the Grayson villa.」

"Dad, please just tell us. Which hospital is Maggie in right now?"

Caleb Grayson sat on the sofa, reading his newspaper, and didn’t even look up.

Seeing that Caleb Grayson was immovable, Mika turned to her mother-in-law. "Mom, you know, don’t you?"

"Mika, I don’t know anything." Mae Lynch shook her head, her expression grim.

"Mom, Maggie is sick. She needs Tristan by her side. Please, just tell us. Tell us which hospital she’s in."

Mae Lynch couldn’t help blurting out, "Mika, are you a fool? Tristan is your husband." ’This daughter-in-law of mine is just too naive,’ she thought. ’Her husband is cheating on her, and she’s still defending him.’

Hearing his mother’s words, Tristan couldn’t stand it any longer. He walked over and yanked Mika back. "That’s enough. Stop with the act." ’And to think I actually believed she could get the hospital’s address out of them.’

"Tristan, what is that tone? How dare you speak to Mika like that." Hearing this, Caleb Grayson erupted in anger.

"Dad, how I speak to her is our business. It’s none of yours."

"Do you even recognize me as your father anymore? As long as I’m your father, your business is my business!"

Tristan scoffed. "I’m asking one last time: where is Maggie? Are you going to tell me or not?" ’I already gave in once three years ago. Did they really think I’d keep compromising forever?’

"Son, don’t mention that woman again. I’m begging you. Your grandmother isn’t well right now; she can’t take another shock."

"Mom, stop bringing Grandma into this." ’Grandma’s been in a coma for days. How could she possibly know anything?’

"Tristan, can’t you just wait until after your grandmother passes...?"

Mae Lynch tried to reason with her son, but Tristan cut her off. "Mom, it doesn’t matter if you won’t tell me. I’ll find Maggie sooner or later." With that, he grabbed Mika and left.

Watching her son leave, Mae Lynch collapsed onto the sofa and burst into tears. "What kind of spell has that woman cast to have our son so utterly bewitched?"
