Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Confidence

"Be my guest..." Archie Summers squinted, a dangerous smile playing on his lips as he stepped aside to let Tristan Grayson pass.

Just as Tristan Grayson reached the doorway, Archie suddenly moved to block the entrance again. He glanced down at his watch and sighed with feigned regret, "My, my... It’s gotten so late... Midnight already... Mika is probably asleep by now..."

At Archie’s words, Tristan Grayson took another step forward, closing the distance between them. His voice was utterly frigid. "You dare to mess with me?"

Archie’s smile didn’t falter. "I wouldn’t dare. It’s just that Young Master Grayson has come at a bad time. How about you come back tomorrow? Prepare some lavish gifts and you can take Mika home bright and early."

"Heh... When I, Tristan Grayson, decide to take my wife home, no one can stop me!" Saying this, Tristan Grayson took another step forward.

Just as they were about to collide, the smile vanished from Archie’s face. He scoffed, "Young Master Grayson, this is hardly the place for you to be throwing your weight around." As he spoke, he took a subtle step back, and Howard Rhodes immediately put out an arm to block Tristan Grayson’s advance.

At the side, Sheldon Rhodes saw this and also began to step forward, items in hand.

Tristan Grayson, however, just smiled and shook his head at Sheldon Rhodes. "No rush. Mr. Summers is right; it really is very late tonight." ’The reason he stopped Sheldon,’ he thought, ’was that he’d spotted four bodyguards coming out into the villa’s courtyard. With just the two of them, they’d likely be at a disadvantage, and he, Tristan Grayson, was never one to take a loss.’

"Good. As long as Young Master Grayson understands that. And another thing, Young Master Grayson. I don’t care how you treated Mika in the past, but from this day forward, if you show her even a shred of disrespect, I, Archie Summers, will make you realize that there are things in Tridell that even you, Tristan Grayson, can’t control."

Tristan Grayson was unimpressed. He mocked, "Such confidence, Mr. Summers?"

"I, Archie Summers, am always confident in myself."

Disdaining to waste any more words, Tristan Grayson turned and left in a huff with Sheldon Rhodes.

Watching Tristan Grayson’s departure, Archie’s expression turned grim. He spoke to Howard Rhodes. "How are things proceeding?"

"We’ve already gained control over some of their people. It shouldn’t be more than a few days before we have their company’s key figures completely under our thumb."

"Good." Archie nodded and turned to leave.

Mika Summers saw her parents return to their rooms to rest and was about to find a guest room for herself, but just then, her phone chimed.

She checked it and saw it was a message from Tristan Grayson: "Well done. If you’re so tough, don’t ever come back."

Mika froze in place.

’Tristan knows I didn’t go back to his house? And from the sound of it, he’s furious?’

Her composure shattered instantly. Clutching her phone, she paced back and forth in the living room, extremely anxious.

’What should I do? What should I do? Knowing Tristan’s temper, he might just storm over here in the middle of the night, chew me out, and possibly even force me to pay the penalty fee for breaking the contract.’

’That’s two hundred million! Where am I supposed to get my hands on two hundred million? Plus, Mom and Dad don’t even know about... What am I going to do? What am I going to do?’

Archie had actually returned from outside a while ago. He leaned against the wall, watching the endearing woman before him. ’More than ten years have passed,’ he thought. ’Aside from her looks, she hasn’t changed one bit.’ "Mika, what’s with all the pacing?"

"Brother, you’re back!" At the sound of his voice, Mika snapped her head up and exclaimed excitedly upon seeing Archie.

Archie couldn’t help but tease, "No need to be *this* excited to see your big brother, Mika."

"Brother, stop teasing. I have to go back. You have to take me back."
