Divorce Revenge System: Knowing the Future in Advance-Chapter 943 - 683: Embrace (Part 2)
She thought to herself that Jiang Nian was quite peculiar. He was neither very respectful to teachers nor particularly irreverent, constantly referring to them as if they were part of his routine.
He always maintained a facade of respect. So much so that even when he was being asked to do something, he'd haggle over conditions.
"I can't make it by one o'clock." He waved dismissively.
"There's a little Bai Yang selection, the Bai Yang Star," Lan Lan said, "The prize money is eight hundred bucks at once."
"But let's get back to it," Jiang Nian said, "Teacher, you know me well. I'm always a helpful and straightforward senior student, with an impeccable reputation for character and morality."
Lan Lan chuckled, thinking he was a straightforward person. Would a straightforward person notice what kind of stockings she's wearing upon entering the room?
"Well, do your best to make it earlier."
Jiang Nian nodded and asked further, "What are the requirements for this Bai Yang Star competition?"
It's better to share joy than to enjoy it alone.
Lan Lan said, "You'll need a sports meet medal, a three-good student award, and at least a year's volunteer experience within the school."
"Holy crap?" Jiang Nian was shocked.
He suspected Lan Lan was messing with him, "With such harsh conditions, besides me, how many people could get it?"
"There are, you know. It doesn't have to be a gold medal in the sports meet," she said, "Ranking in team events also counts as a medal."
"The three-good student doesn't specify which year. As for the in-school volunteer work, the student union members basically all qualify for the selection."
Jiang Nian thought over her words and realized she was right, then quickly reacted.
"Isn't this just for the student union..."
"Exactly." Lan Lan stretched, highlighting her upper body contours, "You do a good job, and the spot will come from me."
...
After the second evening self-study session, a group of boys from Class Three stood in the book-filled hallway, waiting for news about dismissal.
"Do we really have another self-study session?"
"They said nine twenty."
"Isn't it nine o'clock?"
"I don't know, Ji Ming hasn't come up yet." Liu Yang suggested, "Li Hua, why don't you yell that school's out."
"If Ji Ming blows the whistle, it means we really have another self-study session."
"Chi Shi!" Li Hua was speechless, "Why don't you yell, or let that bastard Jiang Nian go ask."
Jiang Nian squinted, "Why should I ask? I'm not in a hurry. Reading in the classroom is a kind of enjoyment."
"Damn!"
"Damn it, you pervert!"
"Bastard!"
His words were so pretentious it was like saying the hard times were better. The voices of critique rose continuously.
Suddenly, Lin Dong spoke up.
"By the way, did you know there's a stray calico cat by the teacher's apartment?"
"What about it?"
"Are you planning to adopt it?"
All the boys craned their necks, their eyes locking onto Lin Dong.
"Life insurance..."
"Ugh!" Lin Dong couldn't stand it, "Damn it, you bunch of byd bastards, you're real bastards!"
"Haha, no, buddy, just kidding."
"Really, life insurance..."
"I heard dolphins."
"Damn, I'm not adopting after the college entrance exam either." Lin Dong surrendered to this group of brutes, "Rumors are more dangerous than tigers."
"Don't be, it's just a joke."
"Exactly."
"I have an idea," Jiang Nian suddenly said, "Why don't you give the bottom one a perm and treat it like a cat."
As soon as he spoke, everyone fell silent.
Even Tao Ran...
"Chi Shi, that's too rough."
"Indeed."
"Hell, when it comes to perverts, it's got to be you guys. Perverts come, and we have to take notes."
Beep beep beep---!!!
The shrill whistle pierced through the chaotic night sky. Ji Ming's voice reverberated as he shouted from the third floor.
"Class has started, go back and study by yourselves!"
"Sigh!"
A group dispersed in a clamor and entered the classroom. Luckily, they only studied for over twenty minutes before being dismissed at nine.
Class Three entirely cleared out their books, according to college entrance exam protocols. Student union members went from class to class informing students to move their books.
"Do we have to move all the books back?"
"Yes."
"I'm not moving mine," Zeng You said, "I'll just leave them in the hallway. If they get cleaned up, at least I won't have to do homework."
Once someone leads, others follow.
A small number of boarding students chose to take their books back to the dorms. Like the mighty Wang Yuhe, who was eager to try.
"Are you dumb?" Jiang Nian patted her, "Leave them in the hallway. If our books are together, nothing will happen."
"Why?" Wang Yuhe's eyes widened.
Jiang Nian said casually, "Embassy."
"Right, you put them first."
"Why?"
"I want to put mine on top of yours so mine won't get dirty."
Wang Yuhe was furious, "No way! I want to be on top!"
Chen Yunyun didn't ask much, following Jiang Nian to place her books at a certain corner, looking at the book frames there.
It should be the sixth group's. The pink frame probably belonged to Zhang Ningzhi, and the white one likely belonged to the class leader.
She stared at them for a moment, then snapped back to her senses.
Jiang Nian returned to the classroom once, then came out with some isolation tape. He pulled it across, labeling the area as material for the psychological consultation room.
Chen Yunyun: "Huh?"
"What's up?" Jiang Nian turned back.
"Nothing…" Chen Yunyun looked at the makeshift isolation, "Will this really work?"
Jiang Nian pulled out a tarp and covered it up.
"How about that?"
Chen Yunyun pursed her lips, breaking into a smile.
"Yeah."
Unreasonable demands often just come from a leader casually blurting out. If they could get through tonight, no one would care tomorrow.
The Olympic class is taking exams, who'd come to clear the books?
Jiang Nian eyed his handiwork, feeling quite satisfied. He planned to take a picture as it could be the most useful lesson from Lan Lan.
By then, most people had already left.
The night outside the corridor was a mingling of yellow and black, the senior building was brightly lit. He thought for a moment, standing next to Chen Yunyun.
He flipped the camera, with the background showing the isolation tape.
"Three... two, one!"
Everything happened too quickly; Chen Yunyun barely had time to adjust her hair. She instinctively tilted her head, leaning slightly towards Jiang Nian.
With a click, the photo was taken.
The girl's face was youthful, her expression a bit flustered. A strand of hair hung at the corner of her mouth, and her glance was directed at a certain person.
"I look so sloppy, can we retake it?"
"Nope." Jiang Nian put away his phone, seriously saying, "Do you know what candid is?"
Chen Yunyun: "...."
From the end of the corridor, Wang Yuhe leisurely returned from the restroom.
"Shall we head back?"
"Yeah, let's go."
"Bye-bye." Chen Yunyun took two steps forward, then waved slightly at him, giving him a deep look.
Jiang Nian responded with a hum, waving his hand as well.
"Bye-bye."
Wang Yuhe came out of the classroom with her bag, and after joining Chen Yunyun, she excitedly chatted.
They walked to the stairway together, slowly heading down to the second floor.
"Yunyun, what's up with you?"
"Huh?"
Wang Yuhe widened her eyes, looking at her, "Since leaving the classroom, you've been distracted."
"Oh... I was thinking..." Chen Yunyun lowered her eyes, gaze falling on the floor, "I forgot something."
"Did you leave it in the classroom?" Wang Yuhe asked.
"Yeah."
"Then I'll get it for you. I'm really quick." Wang Yuhe volunteered eagerly, ready to spring into action.
"No... no need, I'll go." Chen Yunyun handed her the bag, "Only I know where it is."
"Alright then."
Chen Yunyun turned around, quickly climbing the stairs. By the time she reached the fourth floor, her chest was heaving, breathless.
She glanced at Class Three as she passed, and it seemed empty.
"Huff huff~~!"
Chen Yunyun bit her lower lip tightly, running all the way to the corner where the books were. Her heart filled with both anticipation and indecision.
Turning the corner, moving forward...
The space was deserted, leaving only the corners covered with tarps and a yellow isolation tape fluttering in the nightly breeze.
The people were gone.
She stood there, staring blankly at the stacks of books. Her chest rising and falling, her breathing fiery and intense like a broken bellows.
Suddenly, a voice sounded from behind her.
"Did you forget something?"
Startled by the words, Chen Yunyun's pupils dilated. Turning her head, she saw someone standing there, holding a roll of isolation tape in hand.
Jiang Nian said, "The classroom hasn't been..."
Before he could finish, he saw the girl in front of him quickly approach, then with a small burst of speed, she hugged him tightly.
Her arms encircling tightly.
