Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law-Chapter 773 - 776 What’s the situation?
Fu Ya rolled her eyes the moment Liu Ergou spoke.
"What do you think?" she said irritably. "Of course, I told my dad. How else would he know!"
However, she sighed right after.
"Ah, I really didn’t want to tell my dad, but Shuang Yue let it slip. There was nothing I could do; he found out." She pouted. "If he didn’t know, I could have just quietly gone with you. I could have stayed for as long as I wanted without anyone being the wiser!"
Fu Ya put on a theatrical look of anger, but Liu Ergou knew she wasn’t truly upset. She was just talking, so there was no need to worry about Lu Shuangyue. They dropped the subject and chatted about other things instead. Time flew by as they talked, and before they knew it, the sky was pitch-dark.
Seeing it was about time, Fu Ya rose from Liu Ergou’s embrace to freshen up and change her clothes. Liu Ergou did the same, and once she was ready, they stepped outside.
Originally, Liu Ergou had offered to drive, but Fu Ya refused. Her reason was simple: driving was boring. Didn’t he want to relive old memories?
At first, Liu Ergou was confused, not understanding what she meant. But his confusion vanished when Fu Ya wheeled her motorbike out of the garage. He immediately understood. "Reliving old memories" meant the time he’d given her a ride back to the village on a motorbike.
Come to think of it, he had only ridden one that single time and hadn’t touched one since. After buying a car, he had even less reason to.
While Liu Ergou was lost in thought, Fu Ya had already put on her helmet. She turned to him and said, "Er Gou, what are you spacing out for? Get on! We’re about to leave. Put on your helmet!"
With that, she tossed a second helmet toward him.
Liu Ergou scrambled to catch it, quickly putting it on before settling on the seat behind her. He wrapped his arms around her slender waist. Feeling his embrace, Fu Ya warned him, "Hold on tight. If you fall off, it’s not my problem!"
Liu Ergou just laughed in response, a clear sign that he was ready.
Fu Ya understood and twisted the throttle. Instantly, the engine roared to life. The next second, the motorbike shot out of the garage like a phantom, its powerful roar fading as it vanished in the blink of an eye.
The motorbike flew down the road at an incredible speed, overtaking four or five cars in a flash. This made Liu Ergou a little nervous.
"Fu Ya, are you sure this is okay? Never mind the traffic laws, isn’t driving this fast dangerous? If we’re not careful, we could both get flung off!"
Hearing this, Fu Ya just laughed loudly. "Hahaha, no way! Don’t worry, you’re an Ancient Martial Artist. I’m sure you know how it is, so I don’t need to say any more! Besides, Er Gou, it’s only been a short while. How did you get so timid? You’re even less brave than Shuang Yue! When she rides with me, she doesn’t worry at all. In fact, she complains I’m going too slow!"
A bead of sweat trickled down Liu Ergou’s forehead. He glanced at the speedometer and saw the needle was already past 120. That made him sweat even more.
What a joke! We’re already going 120, and Lu Shuangyue thinks that’s too slow? Any faster and we’d probably take off right here on the spot!
Liu Ergou couldn’t help but swallow hard, though he kept his mouth shut. The speed is certainly fast, but for someone like me, it isn’t a huge deal.
Thanks to Fu Ya’s breakneck pace, it only took them a little over twenty minutes to arrive at Fu Yan’s home, a detached villa in the city center.
When Liu Ergou saw the villa, he felt completely unfazed. A villa in the city center... It’s not such a big deal anymore. I could afford one if I wanted to.
The thought surprised him. I can’t believe I’m even thinking this way. Before, I was sweating bullets just to contract a piece of wasteland for a few hundred thousand. But now, I don’t even bat an eye at a villa in the city center. It seems I’ve really changed a lot.
This thought made Liu Ergou smile, a reaction Fu Ya didn’t miss. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"What are you smiling at, Er Gou?" she asked curiously.
Liu Ergou shook his head. "Nothing. I was just thinking that I haven’t seen Uncle in a long time. I guess I miss him, so I felt like smiling!"
Fu Ya clearly didn’t believe his explanation, but she didn’t bother to press the issue. Instead, she grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the villa.
Soon, they were in the living room. The moment they entered, Fu Ya called out, "Dad! Dad! Where are you? I brought Er Gou back! And Aunt Yue Hong!"
A voice immediately drifted down from the second floor. "Coming, coming!"
As the voice faded, a lean, middle-aged man wearing glasses came down the stairs. When Liu Ergou saw him, he couldn’t help but stare.
His stare only made the man laugh heartily. "Hahaha, I told you that you wouldn’t recognize me now! Yaya didn’t believe me either!" the man said, quickly striding forward to sling a friendly arm around Liu Ergou’s shoulders.
But Liu Ergou was still completely bewildered, unable to recognize the man. Seeing his confusion, the man shook his head with a helpless sigh.
"You kid, I’m at a loss for words. It’s only been a few months, and you don’t recognize your uncle anymore? It’s me, Fu Yan! Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten me completely?"
Hearing that, it suddenly clicked for Liu Ergou. He scrutinized the man again, and after a careful look, he could indeed see traces of Fu Yan in his features. The realization left him utterly shocked.
After a full thirty seconds of stunned silence, Liu Ergou finally asked, "No way, Uncle Fu, what happened? How did you lose so much weight all of a sudden? You didn’t look like this before!"
