Don't confiscate my identity as a human race-Chapter 1201 - 800: The Covenant of Melogas_3
A slender and pale hand reached out, her fingertips brushing over the surface of the door.
Miss Mei Luo Gas was full of curiosity about the intention of this Phantom Demon Race man, yet she maintained the Regent's dignity and vigilance.
The drawing room was located at the far eastern side of the palace, separated from Miss Mei Luo Gas's Regent King Hall by only a wall.
The huge doors inlaid with Crystal Stones from the Demon World automatically slid to the sides, revealing the interior of the drawing room.
Miss Mei Luo Gas made a sideways gesture, inviting him in, distant yet polite.
Lanci nodded slightly and stepped into the place designated by Miss Mei Luo Gas for negotiation.
His gaze swiftly surveyed the furnishings of the room.
The floor of the drawing room was laid with black marble tiles, the intricate silver patterns etched upon them mirroring the endless starry sky of the Demon World. In the center of the room was a long table carved out of Magic Dragon Bone, covered by a dark-colored velvet tablecloth.
A meal had already been prepared on top, including tea as well as crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside Hell Magma Bread accompanied by Magical beast cheese and a jam brewed from Naikarisu black roses. The mere scent was enticingly sweet.
Lanci took a seat on the sofa, while Miss Mei Luo Gas bent down to sit across from him.
Miss Mei Luo Gas shifted slightly, adjusting the position of her round buttocks and moving her scorpion tail behind the chair back, the sharp tip not pointing towards him.

"Speak, what business do you have with me?"
Miss Mei Luo Gas looked out to the garden through the floor-to-ceiling window, saying this absently.
"It's not, why is she so normal?"
Talia called to Lanci in his heart, full of doubt.
In her memory, that night Blasphemous Lord Mei Luo Gas was a pure lunatic.
Yet today, she seems so impeccable, completely a cold and rational Regent of the Demon Race.
Couldn't be that this bitch is putting on an act of propriety in front of Lanci, pretending to be a lady?
"You seem to harbor too much malice towards Mei Luo Gas."
Lanci mentally responded to Talia, laughing.
"I absolutely despise her! Don't let her appearance deceive you!"
Just thinking of Mei Luo Gas made Talia feel extremely uncomfortable.
If it wasn't for Lanci coming to ask for Mei Luo Gas's help, she would definitely not want to see her.
Even now, hiding in Lanci's body and not seeing Mei Luo Gas face-to-face, Talia felt very uneasy.
"Master, don't worry. I will deal with her, you don't have to step in. Miss Mei Luo Gas really is the strongest of this era, I need her power."
Lanci reassured Talia.
"..."
"Why do you use honorifics with her, but you never called me 'Miss Thalia'?"
Talia suddenly noticed the discrepancy.
"Master, the sense of your presence is different, as is our seniority. It wouldn't be fitting to address you that way."
Lanci replied with impeccable manners.
"I, I!"
Hearing Lanci's sincere words, Talia wished to pin him down on the sofa right there and then. But she dared not appear before Mei Luo Gas, nor did she want to reveal her magic power and let Mei Luo Gas detect her scent.
Why on earth did Mei Luo Gas seem younger than her in Lanci's mind?!
Talia was filled with resentment in her heart but faced a dilemma, having no outlet for her irritation.
She was so frustrated!
She had caught Lanci in a bug!
Outside the window, the moist air garden was planted with rare Demon Plants. There were blood-red roses that could devour magic power, violets that could release hallucinogenic poison, and mandrakes that could pry into people's hearts. A few Demon World butterflies fluttered among the flowers, and occasionally the sound of insects reached the drawing room.
Miss Mei Luo Gas waited for the Pope's response, unobtrusively picking up the teacup and taking a delicate sip.
"Mei Luo Gas, could you lend me a hand?"
Lanci clasped his hands and placed them on his knees, asking her earnestly.
"Ah?"
Miss Mei Luo Gas slightly tilted her head in melancholy, as if she didn't understand his words, her dark hair silently sliding off.
She had never thought that the Saint Polante Pope's first visit would be to ask for her help, which left her both surprised and a bit unamused.
The Saint Polante Pope, in need of help from other Demon Race members?
"I need your help."
Lanci repeated, his gaze fixed on her, to confirm.
"That won't do, for I am the Regent of the Demon World, and I cannot betray the Demon World just because of your request, you - even if you take it by force, I won't agree."
Blasphemous Lord Mei Luo Gas sized up his attitude, looking somewhat dissatisfied with his direct request, her voice even taking on a hint of hostility as if she was ready to break into a fight the next second.
The Pope personally coming here to talk to her, asking for help, no doubt meant he was about to make some exceedingly excessive demands, such as asking them to exempt the Holy Polante Theocracy from tariffs or to borrow an exorbitant amount of debt or even directly taking away technology and resources from them.
"I am also a person of the Demon World, how could I ask you to do something that harms the Demon World?"
Lanci, finding Mei Luo Gas to be too nervous today, asked her with a helpless smile.
"Uh."
"The Demon World is my second home, without it, there would not be me today."
"Then I believe you."
Miss Mei Luo Gas found the Saint Polante Pope to be quite sentimental, with such a sense of belonging to their Demon World.
She felt somewhat reassured.
And a bit secretly disappointed.
She had already wildly imagined a process where, after her defeat, she was humiliated by the Saint Polante Pope in all sorts of ways.
And now it seemed that would never happen.
"What exactly do you want me to do?"
When Miss Mei Luo Gas had pondered for a while, she lightly tapped the rim of the cup with her index finger, seemingly asking casually.
After all, it was probably to strengthen the cooperation between the Demon World and the Holy Polante Theocracy, rather than an unfair unilateral treaty.
She now came to terms with it; as long as it wasn't a treaty infringing upon the Demon World, even if the benefits to the Demon World were next to nothing, she might just agree to it. After all, who would force her with her being weaker, she could only endure the humiliation and seek to defeat the Pope one day to take back what was hers, with interest.
