They walked to a large grassland where there was a huge persimmon tree. Ah Jiu, holding Wufu’s hand, leapt up the tree, found the sturdiest branch to sit on, facing west.

"Others just watch the sunset. You even have to climb a tree." Wufu said, side-eyeing him.

Ah Jiu brushed off a fallen leaf from her head, pulled her into his arms, and said, "This way we won’t be disturbed by those little brats."

Wufu lowered her head and chuckled.

Ah Jiu watched her with arched eyebrows and felt joy from deep within just sitting with her like this.

Wufu looked up, saw him staring, her eyes sparkling, her face a bit flushed, and said somewhat uncomfortably, "What are you looking at?"

"Looking at you."

Ah Jiu’s lips moved slightly, he cupped her chin, leaned closer, slid his hand around her waist, and his lips met hers.
