Douluo: Transforming Xiao Wu into a Zerg Queen Was Just the Beginning-Chapter 21 – The Ferocity of the Zerg
Chapter 21 - 21 – The Ferocity of the Zerg
"ROAR! ROOOAR!"
The furious howls of the Titan Giant Ape rang out again and again, but they were quickly drowned in the overwhelming tide of the Zerg swarm.
Lin Fan stood in place, calmly holding Xiao Wu by the waist as they watched the scene unfold.
The howling wind whipped his robes into a frenzy.
By now, Xiao Wu's complexion had returned to a healthy flush. Her wounds had completely healed, and thanks to the energy crystal Lin Fan gave her, her spirit power was once again full and surging.
And surprisingly, after the intense battle, she realized her soul power had even risen by a level.
The Queen of Blades—a weapon of destruction born for war—thrives in battle. With every conflict, her power rapidly evolves.
Xiao Wu parted her lips slightly. "My Overmind... can we kill it?"
"Difficult," Lin Fan replied, eyes fixed on the towering figure still struggling within the swarm.
Though buried under Zerglings, the Titan Giant Ape's aura was steadily climbing—its vitality growing even stronger.
Right now, Lin Fan's swarm was still in the early stages of development. Their overall level was low, and they lacked true high-tier units.
Sure, a swarm of ants can kill an elephant...
But only if they're dangerous ants.
When the gap in strength is too large, numbers alone become laughably meaningless.
Lin Fan was never naive enough to think his current Zerg army was already invincible. These fragile creatures—even if they somehow escaped the Star Dou Forest—wouldn't make it far. They'd be torn apart by the first ten-thousand-year soul beast they encountered, leaving not even a single egg behind.
Underestimating the enemy is a death wish.
That's why Lin Fan had always developed his swarm in secret.
Lying low.
Avoiding confrontation with truly powerful enemies.
But with the Zerg's terrifying growth rate, it was only a matter of time until...
With a single gesture, he could unleash billions of Zerg across the continent, blotting out the sky.
That—would be the moment Douluo Dalu learned what fear truly was.
Xiao Wu's brows furrowed. She growled, "Then let me finish it off! If Er Ming manages to escape and tell Da Ming what happened, the Zerg will be fully exposed!"
Lin Fan smiled faintly. "I actually want it to report back to that Sky Azure Bull Python. This is just a lesson—a warning."
"And also, a bit of payback. For what they did to you."
Xiao Wu didn't quite understand, but she didn't ask further. The will of the Overmind was absolute.
She simply remained in Lin Fan's arms, quietly watching the war unfold.
This battle wasn't born of impulse—it was a carefully calculated move.
First, to demonstrate the strength of the Zerg to the rulers of Star Dou Forest. To show them what true terror looked like.
And the effect was explosive.
Whether it was the Overlord fleet overhead, the rapidly expanding swarm, or the rising forest of Spine Crawlers—everything was going exactly as Lin Fan had hoped.
He wanted this feeling—this suffocating, inescapable pressure.
Crush their morale before the battle even begins.
Second, he wanted to test the swarm's full-scale response in an emergency.
How fast could they mobilize?
And this was only the beginning.
So far, he had built ten emergency Hatcheries underground in this region. Over a thousand Overlords had only brought half of his current forces.
And already—this was the result.
The tide of Zerglings surged like a living black ocean, roaring as they crashed forward.
New units still rained down from the sky, leaping from Overlords like a deadly downpour.
It was breathtaking.
The saying "the Zerg are born for war" was no exaggeration.
No wonder they were considered one of the great scourges of the universe.
And Lin Fan... had only been in this world for half a month.
In such a short time, he had grown to this level.
Tell him—what so-called genius, what so-called sect or force could compare to this?
"ROOOOAR—!"
A furious roar rang out.
The Titan Giant Ape opened its mouth and fired a blinding golden beam of energy, sweeping through the swarm and clearing out all nearby Zerglings in a single devastating blast.
"Tch. Can't hold back anymore, huh?"
Lin Fan snorted coldly and waved his hand.

The next wave of Zerglings roared and charged forward again.
A flicker of fear finally appeared in the Titan Giant Ape's eyes.
These creatures were weak—individually laughable—but none of them seemed to have a sense of self.
They didn't feel fear.
They didn't feel pain.
He had already killed hundreds of them—yet the next wave came without pause.
Even the mutilated ones—missing limbs or with half their bodies crushed—still tried to drag themselves forward and bite him.
It sent a chill crawling down his spine.
But in his simplicity, he didn't understand the principle of "cut off the head to kill the snake."
Otherwise, he would've attacked Lin Fan directly by now.
Then, the sea of Hydralisks at the perimeter began to move.
Their crimson vertical pupils locked onto his giant frame.
They raised their heads ever so slightly as their venom sacs swelled and pulsed.
A moment later, waves of acidic venom came screaming through the air toward the Titan Giant Ape.
A green curtain surged across the sky—dozens, then hundreds of venomous projectiles, like a swarm of meteorites—but these weren't stars.
They were deadly acid bombs.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
The corrosive acid burst against the Titan Giant Ape's body. Though his thick hide offered some resistance, acid and venom have a way of adding up.
Even water, drop by drop, can wear down stone—let alone this.
"ROARR!"
The Titan Giant Ape gritted his teeth. It felt like being stabbed with thousands of needles—individually not deadly, but overwhelmingly irritating and painful.
He furiously swung his arms, smashing dozens of climbing Zerglings with each blow.
But when his eyes drifted toward the Hydralisk line, a trace of horror appeared in them.
These creatures didn't care about friendly fire.
In order to hit him, the Hydralisks were showering their own comrades in acid first—turning the crawling Zerglings into collateral damage.
And yet... they didn't hesitate.
They kept firing.
It terrified him.
Just what kind of race had he provoked?
Lin Fan raised an eyebrow. "Still standing?"
He raised his arm.
A kilometer away, ten Spine Crawler towers began to ripple.
Their black-glowing spikes retracted, as if preparing for something.
Beneath the Titan Giant Ape's feet, the ground trembled.
A deep, mechanical rumble echoed through the battlefield.
"What now?!"
The Titan Giant Ape's pupils shrank.
His entire body became coated in a layer of dark brown energy armor, glowing like molten rock.
BOOM—!!
One after another, massive spiked tendrils shot from the ground, spearing toward his body!
"ROAAAAAR—!"
Dust exploded.
Dozens of Zerglings were impaled in the attack, flung into the air like ragdolls.
Ironically, this attack cleared out the swarm around the Titan Giant Ape—giving him some breathing room.
But he didn't look any better for it.
His body was drenched in blood.
The brown markings on his skin were dim and fading.
The pressure he exuded had dropped significantly.
The Titan Giant Ape gave Lin Fan a tired, heavy look.
Then, with a powerful leap, he launched himself skyward.
A golden wave of energy blasted out behind him, clearing a path—and he escaped into the distance.
Lin Fan chuckled and waved his hand.
Two kilometers out, a hundred Spine Crawlers slowly ceased movement.
Their black-glowing spikes stopped loading.
"Hahahahahahaha!"
His laughter echoed wildly across the battlefield.
The Zerg... are about to rise.
