Douluo: Transforming Xiao Wu into a Zerg Queen Was Just the Beginning-Chapter 60 - 61 – Truth or Deception? Chrysanthemum Douluo’s Wrath!
Chapter 60 - 61 – Truth or Deception? Chrysanthemum Douluo’s Wrath!
Chrysanthemum Douluo quickly turned to look at Snake Lance Douluo, his previously casual gaze sharpening instantly.
He locked eyes with him.
"Snake Lance Douluo, when you were here last time—did you encounter the Titan Giant Ape?"
Snake Lance Douluo shook his head, but then something clicked in his mind.
He replied uncertainly, "I didn't encounter the Titan Giant Ape... but I did come across a group of strange soul beasts."
"I'd never seen anything like them before. They didn't give off any soul power fluctuations, yet their attacks were quite strong."
"If not for their sudden ambush, the Saintess and I wouldn't have been exposed."
Chrysanthemum Douluo exchanged a glance with Ghost Douluo, his brows furrowing deeper.
If someone had been secretly scheming against them from the shadows, that would've been manageable.
But if soul beasts were involved—then things had just become far more complicated.

ROOOAAAR!!
Another roar echoed through the forest, this time drawing rapidly closer.
Ghost Douluo slowly withdrew the black mist he had spread, his voice low and grim.
"It's the Titan Giant Ape. But there are others following behind it... odd soul beasts."
"They look just like the ones Snake Lance Douluo described."
At those words, Chrysanthemum Douluo's frown eased slightly.
He asked, "Is the Azure Bull Python with him, Old Ghost?"
Ghost Douluo shook his head.
"Hmph! If both of them were here, I might show a bit of caution. But just one Titan Giant Ape? Don't insult us."
Snake Lance Douluo's eyes glinted coldly. His aura surged, sharp and unrestrained.
"Let me handle this—I must make up for my previous failure."
Ghost Douluo nodded but gave a final warning:
"Be careful. These soul beasts are acting strangely. I suspect something's off."
"Don't worry! Even if both soul beasts came together, the three of us Titled Douluo wouldn't fear them!"
As they spoke—
The ground began to tremble.
BOOM—!
The massive figure of the Titan Giant Ape descended from above, crashing down heavily in front of them.
Buzz!
All three immediately summoned their martial spirits.
—A shadowy wraith,
—A towering golden chrysanthemum,
—A long spear entwined with twin golden serpents.
Each martial spirit radiated brilliant light, manifesting behind them as spiritual projections.
At the same time, nine soul rings began to rise one after another:
Yellow, Yellow, Purple, Purple, Black, Black, Black, Black, Black!
All three had identical configurations of nine rings, exuding immense pressure that bore down on the Titan Giant Ape.
Though the ring composition was the same, Snake Lance Douluo's presence was clearly weaker than that of Chrysanthemum and Ghost Douluo.
Ghost Douluo's aura was the most oppressive—his body enveloped in swirling black mist that radiated pure destruction.
But despite the imposing display, the Titan Giant Ape showed no signs of fear.
He had sensed their presence a kilometer away.
But with the Zerg swarm relentlessly on his tail, he had no time to change direction.
He had no choice but to charge straight through.
His mind spun rapidly, clinging to a simple but audacious plan.
He slowly raised his arms to show he meant no harm.
His massive, bronze bell-sized eyes stared at the three with wary tension—but no hostility.
Chrysanthemum Douluo and the others exchanged confused looks.
What was the Titan Giant Ape playing at?
Then, slowly and clumsily, the beast began to communicate with them telepathically.
A deep, rumbling voice echoed in their minds:
"Humans... help me reclaim the Star Dou Forest."
Reclaim?
That word caught the trio's attention immediately.
They all frowned in unison.
Chrysanthemum Douluo asked, "What do you mean? Weren't you and the Azure Bull Python the overlords of the Star Dou Forest? Who could possibly challenge you?"
The Titan Giant Ape shook his head slowly. For the first time, a trace of grief appeared on his savage face.
"Big Brother... is dead."
"It wasn't humans—it was soul beasts. A terrifying, mysterious kind. They're hunting us down like prey!"
"Dead?!"
All three were stunned, eyes wide in disbelief.
The mighty Azure Bull Python—one of the undisputed kings of the forest, a 100,000-year soul beast—was dead?
And not at the hands of humans, but killed by other soul beasts?
This news, if made public, would rock the entire continent.
100,000-year soul beasts were already incredibly rare. To have one die silently—and it was that one? The strongest and most troublesome of them all?
Chrysanthemum Douluo couldn't help but ask, "Then what about you? How are you still alive? What kind of soul beast could possibly force you into this?"
"I... I escaped," the Titan Giant Ape said heavily. "My brother went out alone and was ambushed. I led the survivors away, but we couldn't win. So I ran."
RUMBLE—!
As he finished speaking—
The ground beneath them shook violently, as if the heavens themselves were collapsing. Trees all around trembled and swayed.
The three Douluo felt as if they were aboard a ship in a storm, tossed and drifting.
The Titan Giant Ape's eyes flared with savagery. He pounded his chest and roared:
"They're here again!!"
"Humans—help me!!"
The trio scanned their surroundings, expressions grim. Soul power surged through their bodies, ready to be unleashed.
Chrysanthemum Douluo asked, "Old Ghost, have you ever heard of soul beasts that can create tremors like these?"
Ghost Douluo hesitated, then replied uncertainly, "If a horde of Burrowing Demon Spiders were migrating underground... maybe."
Chrysanthemum Douluo shook his head.
"Not unless they're all 10,000-year-old Burrowing Spiders. And if that's the case... we might be in serious trouble."
BOOM—!
Suddenly, the earth around them split open, forming massive, bottomless black holes.
From within, waves upon waves of grotesque, chitinous creatures surged forth like a black flood!
They screeched and roared.
The sound of carapace scraping against carapace, the scuttling of limbs, echoed throughout the forest—shattering the silence completely.
The air was now filled with their chaotic cries—shrill, wild, maddening.
In the stunned gaze of the three Douluo, the world around them—
Was swallowed by an endless black sea.
Layer upon layer of Zerg completely surrounded them—thick, suffocating, leaving no escape.
It was as if the entire forest had been dipped in black ink.
"What... are those things?"
Chrysanthemum Douluo looked around in a daze, taking in the countless red-eyed, grotesque "soul beasts."
Just as the Titan Giant Ape opened his mouth to speak—
ROOOAAAR—!
BOOM—!
The monstrous tide ignored him entirely and instead surged past him—rushing straight toward the three Douluo.
Like a dam bursting open, the black tide rushed toward them in wave after wave, threatening to swallow them whole.
The Titan Giant Ape froze.
He looked at the Zerg army sweeping around him, stunned.
What's going on?
Why aren't these disgusting things attacking me?!
Chrysanthemum Douluo's eyes bulged with fury as he glared at the massive figure beyond the swarm.
In an instant—he understood everything.
"You damn Titan Giant Ape!!!"
"I'M GOING TO SKIN YOU ALIVE!!!"
