"And among them are the people coming for you. They won’t fear death. You’ll be doomed if you face them, fearing death like a weakling," the dark-haired Ryuk said from his throne, as Ryuk’s eyebrows furrowed.

’I guess you’re right then, Uncle Bob. They are truly coming for me, and if they won’t be fearing death, they must either be immortal or just really so strong that death isn’t even an option for them when facing me.’

’Is this what you meant by me having to grow faster than they can imagine?’ he asked in his mind, but then his gaze sharpened.

"You talked of my Will growing. What does it mean?" Ryuk asked the blue-scaled one, whose eyes flashed with a blue light.

Ryuk felt a strange silence descend on the room as he turned to look at the dark-haired one, who still stood where he was before.

His lips parted, widening to his ears, and he muttered:

"You shouldn’t have asked that, weakest one…" he mused.

Immediately, Ryuk focused his attention back on the blue-scaled Ryuk, who slowly rose up from his throne, his indifferent gaze boring into Ryuk’s figure.

"You ask me what Will is, young one?" The blue-scaled Ryuk asked him, his voice as emotionless as ever, yet this time, Ryuk felt a different emotion—the meaning of disbelief.

"Do you not feel my Will?" he asked Ryuk, whose face contorted as he watched the blue-scaled Ryuk slowly stretch out his leg and place it gently on the first step.

Instantly, Ryuk’s face changed.

The entire world seemed to shatter into pieces as a loud roaring sound filled Ryuk’s head.

The sound of the next step being taken was heard, and in the next instant, Ryuk’s head fully smashed into the ground as his hands lost their strength, and he remained on the ground, bowing then, his eyes flashing in horror.

"Can you feel it now? What Will is?" The blue-scaled Ryuk asked Ryuk, who felt it harder to breathe, the air seizing from the area as his head slammed harshly back into the ground, unable to resist the force any longer.

Just like a mirgae, all of it began fading away as Ryuk coughed out his lungs, turning and lying on his back, horror all over his face.

’So this is it. This is the power of Will. He was pressing his own Will against my Will!’

And he absolutely crushed me into nothing with his Will alone!’

Somehow, Ryuk felt the blue-scaled Ryuk had shown only a fraction of what his will was truly capable of.

Yet just that little was enough to send him lying face-flat on the ground.

"Rise!" the blue-scaled Ryuk commanded, and beyond Ryuk’s Will, he was forced onto his feet, only to fall down from the weakness of his legs.

But he managed to land on one knee instead.

"Your Will is too weak. You won’t survive when your Knulls come for your life," the blue-scaled Ryuk said, his indifferent gaze changing to one of concern, and a deep frown of anger crossed his face, causing Ryuk to go silent.

"You need more Power! More Will!" he said, and Ryuk couldn’t help but feel a sense of helplessness.

He had only arrived here because he had fought like a madman with the beasts.

He had been fighting his best.

All his life, he had been fighting his best.

All he ever got was that he was too weak, and he needed more.

It was nauseating. It was angering him.

Would anyone in this god-forsaken world ever notice his accomplishments at all? Will they ever see the hard work he puts in every fucking day just to get more power?
