Dragon King: Throne of Demons and Gods-Chapter 155: Destruction’s Genesis
Chapter 155: Destruction’s Genesis
The battlefield looked completely different now.
From the bloody ground and broken bodies, new creatures began to rise.
[Type: Drake (Lv.1) | Rank: Lesser Demon]
[Type: Lindworm (Lv.1) | Rank: Lesser Demon]
[Type: Drake (Lv.1) | Rank: Lesser Demon]
Dragon-shaped demons. Strange and powerful. Born from death.
The first to step forward was a big creature standing on two legs. Its black scales looked like armor, rough and sharp.
It was a drake, about twelve meters tall, with thick limbs and a long tail that moved like a whip.
Next came a lindworm, long like a snake, with no legs. Its seven-meter body was covered in shiny blue scales and gave off a cold mist.
Even without legs, it lifted its head high and proud.
More followed. Ten dragons in total.
Three drakes. Five lindworms. Two huge wyrms, about twelve meters long, horned, with thick bellies and wings folded against their sides.
And then came Novaria.
They all stood behind Bel, with Novaria next to him. Around them, dead monsters that couldn’t handle the dragon blood lay twisted and dried out.
They were proof of what happened to those who failed to become something new.
Bel looked ahead, eyes fixed on the boss monster and the creatures rising from the fire. But his thoughts were on the dragons he had just made.
He noticed something strange. Novaria started as a wyrm, which was the weakest dragon type. Yet the others had skipped that stage. Some became lindworms or drakes from the beginning.
He could feel their power. Each one was stronger than Novaria. But...
Novaria shone brighter. Her light stood out.
Bel narrowed his eyes. They were all his demons now, but none had needed a name. Maybe that meant they were finished, complete. But Novaria wasn’t.
She felt different. Her connection with him was stronger. Her potential was bigger. She could grow more.
"So that’s how it works," Bel whispered to himself.
If he gave his blood to many, they became strong. But if he gave his full essence and used the Mark of Destruction first...
He smiled.
"You’re more special than I thought," he said quietly.
Novaria heard him. She turned her head, eyes glowing, and smiled. She didn’t fully understand, but it filled her heart with pride.
Bel turned his eyes back to the enemy.
The boss roared.
A new wave of monsters came.
"Now," Bel said. "Impress me."
The air cracked.
[Voice of Dominion]
His aura burst out. freёwebnoѵel.com
All the dragons roared together.
The monsters ran at them.
The battle began.
The drakes charged first. Their claws cut through enemies like paper. One smashed a beast into the ground, making a hole. Another swung its tail, knocking three more flying.
The lindworms breathed fire, ice, lightning, and water. They moved like snakes, twisting through enemy lines, biting and burning.
The wyrms stomped forward. Huge and heavy, they crushed anything in front of them. Their wings didn’t lift them but acted like big shields or clubs.
Novaria stood out. She didn’t have the strength of the drakes. But she was faster. Smarter.
Her sword flashed. She dodged easily, countered with skill, and used her fire better than any of them. She didn’t destroy, but she slowed enemies down. Cleared space for others.
Bel watched everything closely.
The wyrms were losing.
The lindworms were holding, but just barely.
The drakes? They were dominating.
He narrowed his eyes.
These power levels made sense.
If he had to compare with humans standards, the wyrms were D-rank. The lindworms? C-rank.
The drakes?
B-rank. About as strong as a mithril ranked human adventurer.
"Good," Bel whispered. "I need more of them. And stronger... And my first test..."
He looked at the boss.
The massive beast, covered in rock-like armor, holding a huge mace, growling at him.
"Let’s see what you’ve got," Bel said.
Then he moved.
The boss struck first.
Its mace crashed into the ground, splitting stone. Shockwaves flew.
Bel dodged, sliding across the dust, then blasting upward with a wind burst.
He blasted a torrent of fire, a storm of frost, but the boss stepped through it, ignoring the cold.
Lightning followed, then flame, then compressed air blasts.
Nothing stopped it.
It pushed through everything.
Bel narrowed his eyes. He was about to unleash frostfire, his hybrid breath, when he paused.
"Wait... I don’t want to kill it."
He tanked the next hit instead. The mace slammed into him. He flew backward, crashing into a rock wall. Dust filled the air, but he rose instantly.
"... No damage? That confirms it. With my current level, it’s too risky to use my full power."
He needed a new approach.
His hand lifted. The void orb appeared, then changed shape, forming a short hammer.
The boss roared again and swung, creating another shockwave. Bel focused.
[Sky Predator]
[Bolt Mode]
Combined with the Chrono Spiral Relic, the world paused for Bel.
He surged forward, faster than sound, twisting mid-air, dodging the path of the shockwave, lined up the strike.
[Lightning mastery]
[Meteor Smash]
[Piercing Strike]
[Earthquake]
All combined into one devastating move.
The hammer struck the boss’s shoulder.
BOOM.
A thunderous shockwave erupted from the point of contact, shaking the battlefield like an earthquake.
Cracks split the ground, loose rocks exploded outward, and monsters nearby stumbled or were knocked clean off their feet.
The air itself seemed to ripple from the force, echoing with a sound like thunder. Even Bel’s dragons paused, turning toward the source.
The boss howled. Its arm dangled, useless. But, at least, it was still alive.
Bel appeared again beneath it, smashing down into the leg.
Another blast. The beast fell to one knee, groaning.
Bel landed behind it.
"I know, hard to fight smaller enemies, right?"
He lunged again, aiming for the boss’s back, speed blurring his figure. But just as the hammer met the beast’s flesh, something shifted.
A strange force surged out from the boss’s body, raw, wild energy. The moment his weapon made contact, a shockwave burst forth, not like the ones before.
It wasn’t just a push; it was a rebound. An exact mirror of his own attack, sent back at him with the same strength.
Time snapped back.
Bel’s eyes widened for a moment, he was launched upward like a projectile, spinning in the air. Dust and wind swirled in his wake.
Novaria gasped, eyes wide as she tracked him flying into the sky.
But up above, Bel was perfectly fine. He kept rising, but he wasn’t hurt.
He was curious.
His eyes narrowed as he stared down at the boss.
"Hm... Oh, that must be that..."
A low frown followed.
"Yes... this is what Mammon did... I get it now. It returned my force... stronger. A reflection ability?"
He turned slowly in the air, watching the ground drift farther away beneath him.
The sky was quiet up here, calm enough to analyze the situation. Bel narrowed his eyes.
The beast had returned his attack, same impact, just stronger. It wasn’t just a counter.
It was like the boss absorbed the force of the blow and mirrored it back, doubling it in intensity. A living shield, not by blocking, but by reflecting damage like a twisted echo.
It explained why the creature seemed indestructible. Each strike only met a mirror, or punished those who struck it.
But... that wasn’t the full truth.
Bel’s eyes locked on the ground again. The beast was still moving, barely. Its massive body struggled to rise.
On its back, a massive wound pulsed with dark blood. Crushed bones jutted, and deep gashes split the thick hide, showing organs and shattered muscle through its skin.
It was alive, but internally, it was a mess.
Bel floated higher, the wind carrying him upward like a feather. He smiled, and then, he stopped his ascent.
He hung still in the air, calm and steady. His eyes glowed faintly as he raised his left hand.
From his palm, the Void Orb appeared and spun. It changed shape, growing longer and sharper until it became a large lance, dark with purple edges.
Below, the boss struggled to rise. Its leg was broken, one arm twisted uselessly. Blood soaked the ground.
The beast vomited again and forced itself upright, shaking with rage. Then it roared.
A red glow burst from its body, spreading like a wave. The other monsters reacted instantly. Their eyes glowed. Their muscles bulged. They screamed.
They had gone berserk.
The battlefield erupted in chaos. One of Bel’s drakes was tackled by three beasts at once.
A lindworm slammed into a wall, stunned. A wyrm was buried beneath a swarm of monsters, screaming as claws tore at it.
Even Novaria was hit. A giant ogre-like monster grabbed her from behind, crushing her in its grip. She coughed blood.
But then, she roared.
Fire exploded from her body. The flames burned the monster’s hand. Her wounds closed quickly. With a fierce scream, she broke free, burned the arm, and slashed off the monster’s wrist with her sword.
Up above, Bel watched everything in silence.
He frowned slightly.
Unlike Novaria, the others couldn’t match her regeneration and after taking too much damage, they died.
Bel however quickly noticed something.
[Stamina: 124,276 / 135,000]
His stamina had dropped, even though he wasn’t doing anything exhausting.
He then realized. The connection, it was Novaria’s healing that was drawing from him.
She was connected to him, and she could directly tap into his power when hers wasn’t enough.
"Hm? That’s how it works?" he said. "Once I mark them, they can use my strength. They’re really a part of me."
That meant he had to be careful. Marking too many at once could drain him. He had to make them able to fight by themselves.
But even then, it was a category B dungeon, and Novaria and the drakes were doing a great job.
His lance began to spin in his hand, pulling in wind and energy. The air thickened around him, heavy with pressure. The sky darkened.
Clouds swirled above. Lightning flashed. Thunder cracked.
The Void Orb pulsed, changing again. The lance grew longer, sharper, and brighter. Sparks crawled along its surface.
Bel took a deep breath. His grip tightened.
"Just one strike. No more."
Lightning struck him, the energy flowing into the weapon, charging it.
He lifted the lance high. Wind whipped around him. The clouds roared.
Then Bel moved.
He fell like a meteor.
No hesitation. No wasted motion. A perfect dive straight from the sky.
The lance tore through the air, cutting a path of energy. The battlefield below turned bright as daylight.
Then... Impact.
A flash of blinding light.
A roar louder than anything before.
The impact shook the world. The ground cracked. A massive crater formed. Lightning shot in every direction.
Wind blasted through the battlefield, knocking down monsters and dragons alike.
For one long moment... nothing moved.
A heavy silence fell across the battlefield.
A massive crater had formed where Bel landed. Cracks ran across the ground, steam hissed up, and flickers of lightning still danced around the edges.
At the edge of the crater, something large twitched. The boss.
Its right side was completely destroyed. One arm was crushed and useless.
The injury was deep, broken bones, exposed organs, and blood pouring across the cracked ground.
Even so, it was still alive. Barely. It let out a weak groan.
Bel stepped through the dust, moving slowly, each step crunching broken rock underfoot.
He stopped next to the wounded beast and looked down at it. The creature’s life force was fading fast.
Bel sighed.
"I really didn’t want to kill you," he said quietly. "You’re strong. Stronger than most. Letting you die would be a waste."
The smell of burnt blood filled the air. Steam rose from the open wound. The boss let out another rattled breath.
Bel glanced at his system.
[Demonic Essence: 1,903 / 2,000]
Not full, but he could feel his flowing in him.
His Authority was usable.
The boss didn’t have much time left anyway, so there was no time to hope.
Bel lifted his hand.
The Mark of Destruction appeared. It glowed purple-black and pulsed with strange, powerful energy.
Bel stepped closer and knelt by the boss’s side. The creature’s body was still warm,
"You’re not going to die here," Bel said. "You’re going to become something greater."
He pressed the glowing mark against the beast’s chest.
As soon as it touched, everything changed.
The mark sank into the boss’s body.
It convulsed, muscles jerking wildly. Its back arched. Black lightning exploded upward in wild bolts, shooting high into the sky.
Dark purple flames burst from the creature’s body.
The boss’s aura grew stronger, wild and thick, almost alive. The mark spread like glowing roots, burning symbols into its skin and into the ground.
Bel backed away. The ground shook under his feet. His eyes glowed as he watched.
The glowing symbols pulsed, then burned so bright they looked white.
Then everything went silent.
The monster collapsed.
Black lightning flickered, then faded. Smoke drifted through the air. The ground stopped shaking.
For a moment, it looked like the beast had died.
Then...

Bel’s mouth curved into a smile. His eyes narrowed.
"Vauldron."

The creature twitched.
It trembled.
The purple aura flared up again, brighter than before. It wrapped around the boss like a thick cocoon, hiding it from view.
The cocoon caught fire. The body inside was torn apart, but it wasn’t dying, but changing.
Bones cracked and shifted. Flesh twisted. Old skin burned away. New muscles formed. Stronger bones grew. Horns stretched longer. Wings burst from its arm, shaped like blades.
The aura spun, then rushed inward, disappearing into the beast’s new form.

Then turned to face the new creature before him.
