Drift Of The Multiverse: [Marvel] [Resident Evil] [DC] [Bleach] [DB]-Chapter 214: The Metro Station in Budapest (BONUS)
Chapter 214 - 214: The Metro Station in Budapest (BONUS)
This group of vampires and werewolves, born from bloodline mutations, share the same "ancestor." According to the plot, these descendants have been running wild for hundreds of years without causing too much trouble for human society, mainly because their ancestor has been quietly cleaning up their messes behind the scenes.
It is not clear why the old man suddenly decided to stop doing so in the original story, but Ethan was sure of one thing. As long as he killed enough vampires and werewolves, Alexander Corvinus would eventually send out his men.
Once those people appeared, he could track them and find Alexander Corvinus's location.
"Thanks, Tony. I didn't expect the upgraded equipment to come in handy so quickly."
This time, Ethan had not left behind any of the gear he should carry. From changes of clothes to weapons and equipment, everything was prepared. The entire set of tools, originally made for him by Tony, did not include tracking devices. But after asking Tony for maintenance and upgrades this time, Tony simply scrapped the old set and replaced it with a completely new one.
The toolbox now included micro-robots for tracking and eavesdropping, capable of completing these tasks without anyone noticing.
Without such tools, finding Corvinus would have required much more effort. Now, it saved him a lot of trouble.
Leaning against a pillar on the platform, Ethan quietly observed Michael Corvin not far away. He put Corvinus aside for the moment. His current target had appeared, and he had no intention of walking away empty-handed.
Looking at Selene nearby, he recalled that, according to his memory, the two werewolves who wanted to capture Michael Corvin should be appearing soon. Then, after realizing there were vampires on-site, one of the werewolves would arrogantly pull out two Uzis and open fire in the middle of a crowded station.
Ethan had no intention of letting that happen again.
"After all, I'm a good person. I don't want to see such a bloody scene."
Ethan, speaking lightly to himself, watched as Michael Corvin slowly moved along the platform, seemingly choosing which subway car to board.
Just as Corvin walked past Ethan, checking the cars, he suddenly noticed a young man standing right in front of him.
The man had black hair and a decent appearance. He wasn't so handsome that it made people envious, but he had a kind face, the type who looked like an approachable, friendly guy.
However, Michael was certain he didn't know this person. Confused, he wondered why this man had stopped him.
Although the platform was crowded, there was enough space for people to avoid each other. The stranger clearly stood in his way on purpose. Judging by the man's clothing, he didn't look like a robber.
Just as Michael was feeling confused, Ethan suddenly opened his arms and greeted him enthusiastically, "Michael, I didn't expect to see you here!"
While Michael stood there baffled, Ethan had already stepped forward and hugged him, whispering into his ear, "You're being watched. Come with me."
"What?"
Michael's first reaction was that this was some kind of robbery or attempted kidnapping. He didn't believe he was being targeted by anyone. After all, he was just an ordinary doctor. Why would anyone be watching him? Instead, the person in front of him seemed even more suspicious.
But Michael quickly realized that his wrist had been firmly grabbed by the other party, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break free.
Ethan's strength couldn't compare to Diana's, nor to Loki or Logan's, but after years of training, his body had reached its peak condition. Long-term physical exercise had certainly made a difference. There was no way Michael Corvin could break free.
"I know you won't believe me."
Dragging Michael behind a stone pillar, Ethan pulled out a small mirror and handed it to him.
"What's this?"
"A mirror. Don't tell me you don't know how to use it."
Ethan demonstrated briefly, and Michael realized he could use the small mirror to observe the platform while hiding behind the pillar.
Although he still didn't believe he was being targeted, the stranger beside him had done nothing but restrain him and even provided a mirror so he could see for himself. This made Michael hesitate. He began to believe Ethan just a little.
Unfortunately, after watching for a while, Michael didn't see anyone suspicious. Just as he started to doubt whether Ethan was playing a joke on him, he suddenly noticed a tall black man pushing his way anxiously through the crowd, clearly searching for something.
"A... tall black man?"
Ethan didn't bother looking at the platform. Instead, the plot of the movie played back clearly in his mind. He was reviewing the details to make sure he hadn't missed anything.
"And a white male."
The specific features were hard to describe, especially in a station full of white people. But Michael's intelligence was still intact. All he had to do was look for those moving aggressively through the crowd, as if searching for someone.
"Are they looking for me?"
"Yes." Ethan pulled out a special device, also provided by Tony, which was particularly useful at this moment.
Michael had no idea what Ethan was doing. He was too focused on observing through the small mirror and didn't notice when Ethan pressed the tubular device directly against his arm.
"Ah!"
Caught off guard, Michael dropped the mirror and reached out to shove Ethan away, but he couldn't move him at all. He could only watch as the strange device drew a tube of blood from his arm.
"What the hell are you trying to do?"
Ethan was simply playing it safe. He remembered that Michael would be bitten by the werewolf leader Lucian as soon as he got home.
What Ethan wanted was Michael's pure, uninfected blood. Once the werewolf virus contaminated it, it would be useless to him.
Tony's device worked like an injection gun. Once pressed into position, it could quickly draw a tube of blood within a few seconds.
"Saving you." With the sample collected, Ethan did not abandon Michael. He had only taken his payment in advance as insurance. He wasn't the type to take the benefit and then ignore the person's life or death. "I'm just collecting my fee early."
Michael had a string of curses on the tip of his tongue, but after watching the strange device disappear from Ethan's hand, all his words were swallowed back in shock at the magical sight.
"Did I just... hallucinate?"
"Better not, because the real trouble is coming."
The two of them stayed hidden behind the pillar. Although the werewolves couldn't find them immediately, Michael had already thrown the small mirror and shouted loudly earlier, which had made him an obvious target. The black werewolf quickly quickened his pace and rushed toward him.
At this point, the werewolf still didn't suspect any real danger. In his eyes, Michael was just an ordinary human. All he had to do was grab him, show his weapon, and the man wouldn't dare resist.
"Vampire!"
Just as the black werewolf was about to grab Michael, his companion shouted. The werewolf immediately pulled out two Uzis from inside his coat and fired without hesitation upon spotting his target.
The sudden burst of gunfire echoed throughout the subway station. Michael, still clueless about being the center of this conflict, stayed calm enough to hide behind the stone pillar to avoid stray bullets while observing the situation.
"What the hell is going on?"
Michael didn't expect anyone to answer him. The scene in front of him looked like two rival gangs having a shootout in the middle of a crowd.
But Ethan gave him an answer that left him stunned.
"The big guy and his partner are after you. The other group is after them." Ethan leaned calmly against the stone pillar, watching the shootout play out. It felt like watching a live-action movie scene.
In Michael's eyes, Ethan's behavior was reckless to the point of being suicidal. While Michael was curled up behind the pillar, Ethan was just leaning casually against another, arms crossed, looking as if he had nothing to worry about.
At this rate, stray bullets could easily hit him. Or either group of gunmen might decide to put a few rounds into him just because he was standing there so conspicuously.
"What are you doing? Get down and hide!"
Before Michael could finish, a ripple suddenly appeared in front of Ethan, like a stone dropped into calm water. Michael felt as though the scene before him was just a reflection.
But as the ripples faded, everything returned to normal, making him wonder if it had just been his imagination.
"What was that?"
To his credit, Michael showed the toughness expected of a male protagonist. Even in the middle of a gunfight, he still had the presence of mind to reach out and check what had just happened.
As his hand stretched out toward Ethan, it seemed to touch a smooth surface like glass. Then his hand was sucked forward, and his entire body was forcefully pulled through, stumbling awkwardly as he barely managed to stand upright.
"Where... where is this?" Looking around, Michael saw the same subway station. The people nearby were going about their business as if nothing had happened. There was no sign of the gunfight from moments before.
"A subway station in Budapest." Ethan pointed behind Michael. "You should be asking yourself where exactly you were before."
