Shengyi stood paralyzed, watching his family's home collapse into a roaring inferno. The wooden beams groaned and snapped, unable to withstand the flames any longer, crumbling into a heap of ash and embers. His jade-green eyes reflected the fire's glow, wide with shock and helplessness. A group of figures cloaked in crimson robes—the unmistakable sign of the Blood Lotus Clan—stood amidst the destruction. One, a tall man with a scarred visage, surveyed the devastation and intoned, "The task is fulfilled," his voice cold as the grave.
Shengyi's mind raced with questions, his heart pounding in his chest. What do I do? Should I attack them? His cultivation hadn't awakened yet—his qi remained dormant, a latent spark he hadn't ignited. He was powerless against these cultivators, their auras thick with killing intent. Where's Mother? My sisters? The thoughts swirled, but fear rooted him to the spot, his fists trembling at his sides.
The scarred man's head snapped toward him, sensing his presence. In a blur of motion—too fast for Shengyi's untrained eyes—he appeared directly in front of him. Shengyi stumbled back, his breath catching, terror flooding his veins. The man towered over him, his crimson robe billowing faintly with residual qi, but he said nothing. Instead, he thrust a parchment scroll into Shengyi's shaking hands. Shengyi grasped it, his fingers trembling so badly he nearly dropped it. Before he could react, the man and his companions vanished, leaping into the sky with a trail of red light streaking behind them, leaving Shengyi alone with the smoldering ruins.
A voice broke through his daze. "Shengyi!" It was Old Man Huo, a wiry neighbor with a limp, hobbling toward him. "Your sisters—they're injured. They're with Healer Geli now!" Shengyi's heart lurched, panic overriding his shock. Without a word, he bolted toward Geli's shack, his legs carrying him through the chaotic streets of the Suburbs.
The Eternal Earth Realm was a stratified realm, divided into three distinct tiers.
The Suburbs, nestled deep below the surface, were the lowest stratum—a festering pit of anarchy, poverty, and despair. Criminals, the destitute, and exploited laborers eked out a living amidst filth and smog, their qi weak or unrefined. These people were ignored, and until two years ago, no one from this level had ever entered the Sect of Eternal Earth—until Lai Ya ,Shengyi's elder sister, became the first.
Above, several kilometers up, lay the Middle Earth, home to the scheming middle class who groveled before the King, treating him as a divine figure in hopes of elevating their cultivation to ascend to the top. In the lower depths, the people of high cultivation lived, yet they were still far from reaching the Eternal Earth. Among them, Lu Xi was originally from this land, a place where cultivators struggled to reach the peak, their potential limited by the harsh realities of the world below.
At the pinnacle sat the Eternal Earth, a paradise of opulent temples and luxury, reserved for the elite: primordial cultivators, royal kin, master healers, and their servants. It was here that the most powerful cultivation sect of the Kingdom, the Sect of Eternal Earth, was situated. Shengyi's mother, Lu Xi, had once been working as servants when he and his sisters were child, her beauty and resilience earning her a place there before she returned to the Suburbs.

Shengyi burst into Healer Geli's shack without knocking, his chest heaving from the run. Inside, his sisters Lai Ya and Ma Li sat on a straw mat, their faces etched with pain despite their lack of visible wounds. They wore thin, loose robes, no bras beneath, and as they leapt up to embrace him, Shengyi felt the hard press of their nipples against his chest. Lai Ya, the elder, pulled back to scan him anxiously, her blue eyes searching. "Are you okay?" she asked, her voice trembling, before wrapping him in another tight hug. Ma Li clung to his side, her grip fierce, their warmth a fleeting comfort amidst the chaos.
Before he could respond, Geli emerged from the shadows of the shack. Her long, pointed green hair—faded with age—framed a weathered face, her yellow eyes sharp and piercing. At sixty, her body bore the wear of years, but her massive, sagging breasts strained against her patched robe, a testament to a vitality that defied her appearance. Shengyi bowed his head slightly. "Thank you, Geli, for helping them," he said, his voice rough with gratitude.
Geli waved a dismissive hand, her lips curling into a smug smile. "No trouble at all. You'll pay me back later. Stay here tonight—you and your sisters. Rest up." She nodded at them, her tone carrying an unspoken weight, then shuffled off with a parting, "Sleep well," leaving them alone.
The air grew heavy as Shengyi turned to his sisters. "Where's Mother?" he asked, dread pooling in his gut. Lai Ya and Ma Li's faces darkened, a mix of sorrow and fury flashing in their eyes. Lai Ya spoke first, her voice low and strained. "It happened so fast this morning. Two men pinned us down—immobilized us with some kind of qi technique. Then a scarred man shoved Mother through a portal. We fought back, took down the two lackeys, but that scarred bastard... he crushed us like insects."
Lai Ya locked eyes with Shengyi, her gaze hardening. "I remember that scar. He's the one who killed Father."
Shengyi's eyes widened, his mind reeling. "So it's him". The realization hit like a strike, cold and sharp. "This is beyond us," he said, voice shaking. "We need to report it to the authorities—"
Ma Li cut him off, her tone bitter. "Be realistic, Shengyi. We're from the Suburbs. The Middle Earth and Eternal Earth don't care about us down here. They won't lift a finger. We're on our own."
Lai Ya raised a hand, her voice steadying the tension. "Let's calm down. We'll grab some food outside and rest. Tomorrow, we'll figure out what to do." Her words were a lifeline, and though reluctant, Shengyi nodded, the weight of the day pressing on them all.
Night fell, thick and restless. Lai Ya and Ma Li lay on the divided mat, tossing fitfully, their worry palpable. Shengyi couldn't sleep either—too much had happened, too many questions gnawed at him. Slipping out of bed, he stepped outside Geli's shack into the cool, smog-choked air of the Suburbs.
He needed to think, to breathe. As he paced, his hand brushed the scroll in his pocket—the one the scarred man had forced on him. Heart pounding, he pulled it out and unrolled it under the dim glow of a flickering lantern.
Scrawled in jagged, blood-red ink were the words: "We have your mother. Go to the Desire Brothel in Middle Earth with the 100,000 gold coins your family owes us. If you fail, she dies. You have 48 hours."
