Dual Cultivator with a cultivation system-Chapter 525: Ch-: City Under Attack (2)
Swoosh
One by one, everyone stepped out of the portal, and the first thing that greeted them was the scent of blood in the air. They looked around and saw the ground dyed crimson, stained with blood and littered with limbs, heads, and headless corpses. There were deep gashes from weapons and small craters in the ground.
"You are late," a slightly irritated voice rang out, and everyone looked toward the figure.
"Oh, it hasn’t been long since we met again, has it, Seventh Elder? I’m not sure I feel any goodwill toward my captor," the commander said with a grin. Yes, this was the Seventh Elder of the Zhang Family who had escorted him to prison.
"Hmph, that was the plan, and I was gentle," the Seventh Elder snorted.
"Heh, if we weren’t from the same faction, I would have at least given you a thorough beating first," the commander sneered.
"Anyway, do you remember your task?" the Seventh Elder said in a serious voice.
"Of course. Isn’t it just to cause chaos in Golden Leaf City and act as bait? Our specialty is causing chaos," the commander said with a smile, and the subordinates behind him chuckled.
"Good. We will also join you. Now let’s head out," the elder said as he donned his mask and left with the prisoners.
---
"Hey, who are they?"
"Fuck, am I seeing things, or are those people wearing the uniform of the Black Church?"
"What the hell are they doing here?"
"Bold! How dare they? Do they think they can come and go as they please? Someone quickly inform the guards!"
"What is this unease? I have a feeling something bad is about to happen."
"Same here. I should have stayed at home today. I was out of the city for the entire month, and I came back just a few minutes ago only to encounter them. Such rotten luck."
The group arrived suddenly in the middle of Golden Leaf City’s bustling area, which rattled everyone. At first, the crowd was confused and suspicious of the masked men, but when they recognized the robes they were wearing, many broke out in cold sweat, their faces turning paper-white with fear.
"Haha, looks like we’re famous," the commander chuckled as he sneered at the crowd arrogantly.
"Infamous, actually," the Seventh Elder added, clearly pleased by the panic their organization’s name caused.
"Alright, start. Cause as much chaos as you can. Hahaha," the commander laughed ferociously as he brought out a large halberd. The others followed suit and produced various weapons. The onlookers paled at the sight, a bad premonition rising in their hearts as they took a few steps back in dread and panic.
Whoosh
Instantly, every single one of them vanished from their spot, and what followed were the cries of the people.
"Ah, no!"
"What are you doing?!"
"My hand—crazy bastard!"
"I don’t want to die!"
"Bunch of madmen!"
Bang! Bang!
Cries and curses rang out from the pedestrians who were mercilessly cut down by the Black Church members. Some of the sadistic members pinned their victims down, chopped off their arms and legs, and let them bleed out to death. Explosions followed as their attacks landed on the surrounding infrastructure, turning everything into rubble.
Within a few minutes, there was no one left alive except the Black Church members. The ground was littered with corpses, and all the infrastructure was destroyed.
"Haha, boss, it’s been so long since my sword tasted blood."
"Yeah, same here."
"I forgot how fun this was."
Those who spoke were Black Church members who had been locked up in prison and released today. Their bodies trembled with excitement, and even the others wore smirks on their faces.
’Fucking crazy bastards,’ the Seventh Elder thought, twitching his lips before sighing. He was one of the more normal ones, but most members of the Black Church were deranged, outright sadistic, and cruel. Their favorite pastime was torturing others and inflicting pain.
He was not surprised by their joy. In recent years, the Black Church had been far more restrained and had paused its destruction and massacres, but today they finally had the chance to let loose.
"Where are the guards? Shouldn’t they be—oh, never mind," the commander said, but his lips curled up when he saw the Royal Guards.
"Alright, everyone, remember we need to keep the Royal Guards engaged while they complete the mission," the Seventh Elder said.
Before the Royal Guards could even react, the members of the Black Church pounced on them with killing intent.
Swoosh
"Shit, defend!" the leader of the Royal Guards shouted as he noticed this, and they all hurriedly drew their weapons in the nick of time.
"What is this occasion, Zhang Clan Leader?" There were many men in the room at the seventh to tenth stage of the Golden Core Realm cultivation, each holding a glass of wine. They were all leaders of the Eight Great Families, looking at Zhang Xisu with questioning gazes.
"Of course, there is a special reason. After today, there will be no need to compete with the matriarch faction anymore, so it calls for a celebration," Zhang Xisu said with a curl of his lips.
"What! You managed to take full control of the clan?" one leader asked in surprise. Zhang Xisu merely smiled faintly. This caused some in the crowd to look displeased, as the internal conflicts had been benefiting them
.
"But it’s a shame the Tang Clan Leader couldn’t come. I really miss him," Zhang Xisu said with a sigh. Those who heard his words twitched their lips. If they didn’t know he was pulling the strings to cause trouble for the Tang Clan, they might have believed him.
"Toast," Zhang Xisu said as he raised his glass and downed the wine in one gulp. Seeing him drink first and sensing no danger, the others followed suit.
Ten minutes later—
Thud. Thud. Thud. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Zhang Xisu looked calmly at the clan heads who had fallen unconscious. "If I had time, I would have killed you all. They should have already started causing a commotion. You’re all really lucky."
Woosh.
After Zhang Xisu vanished, servants with panicked expressions rushed into the room.
"Clan Heads, the Black Church has launched an attack on the city!" a maid cried out, but her eyes widened when she saw all the clan heads lying unconscious.
"Clan Heads! Someone, quickly come!" The maid rushed forward and alerted the other servants.
