Dual Cultivator with a cultivation system-Chapter 527: Ch-: City Under Attack (4)
"It’s here," Zhang Xisu mumbled as he took a step forward, brought out his weapon, and with a solemn look unleashed a powerful strike on the statue.
Boom BOOM
The huge statue was struck by a massive force and, within seconds, crumbled and turned to rubble.
---
Bang
Crash
The Royal Guards and the Black Church members paused their fighting when they saw the huge statue of the 7th King in the distance reduced to rubble.
Alarm bells suddenly rang in the Royal Guard commander’s mind as he remembered something. Don’t tell me he is...
The commander of the Royal Guards and all Royal Guards had sworn a soul contract—if they betrayed the Wu Family, they would die—but after signing it, they were able to grow stronger. As the commander, he knew some secrets known only to the royal family, and he also knew the importance of the statue.
"Damn," his heart clenched when he realized that Zhang Xisu and the others must be targeting the item sealed and buried within.
I have to stop him. I can’t let him take it.
The Royal Guard commander tried to slip away but was blocked by the 7th Elder.
"Looks like you know what’s there, huh?" the 7th Elder said with a chuckle as he looked at the commander.
"You all know?" The commander’s heart sank.
"Of course we know. The leader asked us to get this. Why else would we attack Golden Leaf City and jeopardize our position in the family? It’s all for the greater good," the 7th Elder said.
"Greater good? You ass, you bastard—get out of my way!" the commander shouted angrily, looking anxiously into the distance as he sensed something was about to happen.
Wooosh
Suddenly, a pillar of darkness rose in the distance, startling everyone.
"No, damn it, it’s too late," the commander cursed as he looked at the pillar with bloodshot eyes.
Others who could see the pillar of darkness shooting into the sky also felt unease creep into their hearts, as they had a premonition that something worse was about to arrive compared to the Black Church.
As soon as the statue crumbled, Zhang Xisu saw a jade box with a keyhole. Through his monocle, he could see a dark aura around it, even stronger compared to the statue. He took out a key that the leader had given him. As the key appeared, it broke free from his hand and embedded itself into the keyhole.
Woosh
As soon as the box was unlocked, it crumbled, and a pillar of darkness shot up before slowly receding, leaving behind a pitch-black, beating human heart floating in the air.
Gulp
"This..." Even Zhang Xisu felt a tremor of unease as he swallowed hard. He quickly took out a jade box that the leader had given him and gently placed the heart inside.
He looked over and saw a few of his subordinates watching nervously. "You take this with you and wait for me at the designated location."
He handed the box to a subordinate, who took it nervously while sweating.
The subordinate did not question further and hurried toward the exit in disguise.
"Now, let’s try this new item the leader gave me," Zhang Xisu said as he brought out a small bottle and opened the lid.
As soon as she did this, another black mist rose and condensed until it materialized into a colossal, pitch-black figure.
Zhang Xisu’s breath hitched when he noticed the deep crimson eyes looking at him, and he felt a chill crawl down his spine.
This was the recent creation of an elder of the Black Church, who had gained some kind of mysterious power that allowed him to create such monstrous behemoths.
He took a deep breath and said, "Stand straight."
A deathly silence fell as Zhang Xisu watched the black titan nervously.
It blinked its eyes several times before obeying his command and standing straight.
"It’s working." His fists clenched in excitement, and his face flushed.
"Raise both your arms," he commanded, and the titan obeyed again. Zhang Xisu’s lips curled up
.
"Zhang Xisu, what have you done to the statue, and what is this monster?" Zhang Xisu heard an enraged voice and saw the commander rushing toward him, his eyes fixed on the Black Titan beside him with fear.
"Oh, a fresh test subject," Zhang Xisu’s eyes gleamed.
When the commander heard the words "test subject," a bad premonition rose in his heart.
"Kill them all," Zhang Xisu commanded in a cold voice, and the Black Titan swung its fist toward them.
"This speed!" The commander’s eyes shrank to pinpricks. He had thought its large frame would make it slow and that he could deal with it by relying on that fact, but that was wishful thinking.
Boom
The commander somehow managed to dodge, but he lost his right arm. He gritted his teeth from the pain. He looked back, and his heart sank when he saw that all the other royal guards had turned into corpses, having failed to dodge the attack.
He looked up and saw the fist hurtling toward him. He gritted his teeth and shouted with hatred, "DAMN IT, ZHANG XISU! THE Heavens Will Not Forgive You For This!"
Boom
The fist landed, and the royal commander was turned into paste.
The other Black Church members had also arrived and wore fanatical looks on their faces as they gazed at the enormous Black Titan.
"This... is this the new weapon the leader talked about?" the 7th elder said in a trembling voice.
"Haha, with this, our Black Church will surely be able to destroy all the kingdoms and become the sole ruler of the continent," the commander of the Black Church said in an excited voice.
"All right, everyone leave now and set up a teleportation mark. I will distract everyone and buy you time, and we will meet up later," Zhang Xisu said in a neutral voice. The others nodded and sprinted toward the exit.
