Chapter 87 -87: Watching You Cry Bitterly When You Lose Bella
“Well,” Oliver Hughes replied, “just checking her mood. It’s such a big occasion, we can’t have her getting stage fright.”
Cyan Marshall initially wanted to say something, but after Oliver said that, she didn’t know what to say.
A normal person wouldn’t tolerate such words.
But as a mother, she understood Oliver. He was genuinely worried about Bella Woods being nervous, even though his words were harsh.
If she were to blame Oliver for anything now, his temper would flare, and he’d end up berating Bella, treating her even worse.
Cyan sighed.
Sometimes she truly didn’t know how to deal with Oliver Hughes.
“Cyan, you and Oliver go inside and sit for a while. I’ll handle the guests outside,” Daniel Hughes said, gently supporting Cyan as he glanced at her high heels.
His eyes were filled with sympathy, “Be good and go sit for a bit.”
Daniel Hughes gently finished speaking with Cyan, then looked up at Oliver with a sharp gaze, “What are you standing there for? Quickly, help your mother inside to rest.”
Oliver was inexplicably reprimanded. Though he was displeased, he feared Daniel.
He didn’t say anything and helped Cyan inside.
“Oliver.”
Just as they entered the main hall, Sienna Warren approached.
Cyan noticed Sienna wearing a fitted golden dress and furrowed her brows.
Although the golden dress wasn’t the same design as Bella Woods’—Bella’s was a long gown, while Sienna’s was short with a deep V cut—Bella’s was more conservative.
But they were the same color, and Sienna’s was more daring, making her the first thing people noticed at a glance.
“Auntie,” Sienna politely greeted Cyan, “We’ve met before and had some misunderstandings, but I’ve explained everything to Oliver and even apologized to Bella.”
Sienna explained politely.
“Congratulations, Mrs. Hughes.”
Cyan, with a smile, greeted the approaching guest, “Thank you, Mrs. Quinn, have fun tonight.”
Mrs. Quinn nodded with a smile and took a moment to study Sienna, a hint of confusion in her eyes, “Is she, Oliver’s fiancée?”
“No, she’s Oliver’s friend,” Cyan explained.
Mrs. Quinn immediately realized and smiled without saying much more.
But as she walked into the banquet with her husband, she remarked, “I thought that girl wearing something so shiny was the main character. I didn’t expect the Hughes family’s taste to be that bad, without any grace. Turns out, she’s just a friend…and a friend showing up like that is even more lacking in etiquette.”
“It’s none of our business; don’t speculate. Let’s see which heiress Third Young Master brought tonight.”
Mrs. Quinn and her husband’s conversation was low, but Cyan, having excellent hearing, caught every word.
She shot a glare at Oliver, then moved away from him and went into the banquet to find the butler, “See if there’s another dress available to send to Bella.”
The butler hesitated, “There’s only one dress… But there are two more left at the Hughes residence that Third Young Master had Miss Woods try on.”
“Then get one of those here and have her change.”
The butler nodded and went to carry out the order.
Cyan sat in a corner seat, her calves aching from wearing high heels for too long without a break.
When she looked up and saw Oliver bringing Sienna over to sit next to her, her face darkened further.
She had hoped Oliver would come over alone so she could gently remind and reprimand her son, but Oliver had brought someone else directly to sit with her.
Many things she wanted to say got stuck in her throat.
Cyan was usually gentle, always emotionally stable, but now she couldn’t maintain that, and her face turned noticeably colder.
When Cyan was about to say something and saw Oliver was already opening a game on his phone, she lost any desire to speak.
“Auntie, have some tea.”
Sienna poured tea for Cyan and took an ice pack from her bag, “Auntie, you must be tired from standing in such high heels for so long. Let me help you with this.”
Cyan looked at the ice pack in Sienna’s hand, her expression indifferent, “Does Miss Warren always carry an ice pack?”
“I often wear high heels and encounter this situation, so I keep it handy,” Sienna giggled, “Let me apply it for you, auntie…”

“No need,” Cyan refused, “Since Miss Warren has it for backup, you should keep it, I don’t need it.”
“Mom, you’re wrong here. Bella Woods hasn’t done anything, and you praise her. Sienna notices your discomfort and brings ice, and you don’t appreciate it or show a pleasant face.”
Though playing the game, Oliver was aware of the interaction between Cyan and Sienna.
“It’s okay, maybe Auntie has a bit of a misunderstanding about me,” Sienna laughed, “Auntie, let me call someone to help you.”
After saying this, Sienna stood up.
Cyan’s face changed instantly, “Oliver, what exactly are you trying to do?”
“I’m thinking of changing the main character of the engagement party; what do you think?” Oliver looked up from his phone at Cyan.
Cyan’s face changed dramatically, and she immediately grabbed her phone, ready to contact the staff to check Bella Woods’ room.
“Don’t bother, I’ve sent Bella Woods away,” Oliver pressed down on Cyan’s phone.
“Oliver Hughes, do you even know what you’re doing?” Cyan lowered her voice.
Oliver chuckled, “I do. I gave Bella Woods a chance, and she didn’t cherish it.”
With that, Oliver’s face darkened, “But don’t worry, I’ll give Bella Woods one last chance. Later, I’ll call her, and as long as she behaves and apologizes properly, assures me she won’t throw a tantrum next time, I’ll give her a chance.”
Cyan looked at Oliver’s arrogant demeanor, too angry to say a word.
At this moment, Cyan really wished Bella Woods would be pursued by someone else, so this brat would be heartbroken.
Cyan shifted her gaze to the vast glass wall behind them, seeing her cold face and the back of Oliver’s head.
Cyan sighed and finally said, “Oliver, do you even realize what place Bella holds in your heart?”
“The one who doesn’t understand their place is Bella Woods, not me,” Oliver’s attitude was firm.
Cyan opened her mouth but ultimately said nothing.
She looked at Oliver in the glass wall, a hint of pity in her eyes.
What Cyan didn’t know was that this glass wall actually concealed hidden secrets.
Behind this seemingly solid glass was a secret room.
The person inside the secret room could see everything happening in the banquet hall through the glass.
Bella Woods was tied to a chair with her legs bound, facing the glass wall, watching events unfold in the banquet hall.
Next to her, Holly Watson held a knife, the icy blade pressed against Bella’s face.
With just a bit of force, countless cuts would appear on Bella’s face!
