After witnessing how the snake exploded into bits leaving no trace behind, Sam remained confounded in place, but that wasn’t the case for Uriel. Instead, he hurried over to the map and asked Sam to mark the spot where the doll exploded, as well as mark their own location.

Uriel then connected the dots with a thread and projected a straight line that seemingly went nowhere while mumbling unintelligible stuff to himself.

"What got into him?" Sam asked, knowing full well that whenever Uriel focused on a task like that, asking him any questions was completely pointless.

Uriel spent a good ten minutes staring at the map with a blank expression. He seemed to be completely still, almost like a statue, but inside his mind all his gears were spinning fast trying to make connections between his knowledge in archaeology and his experiences as a hunter.

He could have assumed that all Water warlock wanted was escaping from the zeppelin, but it made no sense considering how the doll blew up not long after exiting the airship.

Uriel didn’t know Water warlock’s character, but even if he used to be an idiot back when his civilization was alive, which Uriel didn’t believe, a being as old as him was bound to pick up at least a hint of wisdom in all of those years he spent inside the orichalcum dagger.

The only possible answer was that he was trying to communicate something and Uriel would have thought he was trying to point the way to where they should go next if not for a single problem: he flew towards the southwest where there was nothing but the Pacific ocean.

Without the doll, the only thing Uriel could do was to try and find the solution by himself but he felt as though he was stuck. The thread marking the imaginary line pointed nowhere and it wasn’t until he used a magnifying glass that he noticed a small island.

"Rapa Nui!"

"What?" Several people, whose presence he didn’t even notice because he was too focused, asked at the same time.

"Easter Island," Uriel replied after making sure only his trusted friends were at the bridge. "It’s a small island in the Pacific that gave birth to one of the most remarkable cultures. I think Water Warlock was trying to point the way to a dungeon."

"Oh! I know about it! It’s the island with a lot of big heads carved from rocks!" Nika shouted excitedly as though she had won the lottery. Knowing something others didn’t was a rare occurrence that merited a celebratory beer.

"Uhm, I want to go there." Luna added, hiding the fact that she had an ulterior motive behind her.

"Let’s go then!" Sam rushed to turn the rudder, but Medusa stopped him in his tracks.

"What did I say about flying over the ocean? Doing it without enough fuel reserves is too dangerous. Besides, there are strong creatures at the sea and none of us can fight in water."

It was too late to continue thinking about problems that had no solution and all of them were longing to get a good night rest, but before they could do so, the alarm was sounded. They had no means to know what happened, but a red blinking dot in the tabletop marked the landing bay as the area where the alarm was triggered.

The whole team rushed in without missing a beat. Uriel was the first to arrive at the location and noticed a strange clanking sound coming from the outside and opened the landing bay with complete disregard for the incredible height they were currently at with the intention of getting rid of the attackers.

They formed a defensive line pointing their weapons at the soon to be open door, but as soon as the gap was big enough one of the flying creatures rushed in and grabbed one of the security members faster than anyone could react.

They were flying creatures with two triangle shaped wings and a long tentacle-like prehensive tail, but the worst part was that bullets bounced off of them as though they were armored. Medusa stepped forward and used her trait on the creature, but it failed completely.

"They’re nightflyers, they don’t have eyes!" Luna explained.

Uriel pointed his gun at the flying creature, thinking that maybe his Magnum revolver might be able to pierce through its thick skin, but then realized the risk of hitting his ally were too great to be ignored and he could do nothing but watch as the cryptid took her outside the ship as many more nightflyers broke through.

’If we can’t kill a single one of them, they’ll wipe us out in a minute.’ Uriel cursed his bad aim in silence as he stored the magnum back inside his trait. Then, something sped up across the landing bay passing by the incoming cryptids with ease.

It was Sam, who after activating his earring was now able to safely pursue the cryptid that took their ally and engage in a full fledged air fight.

Meanwhile, the rest of the members of the Dungeon Raiders fought tooth and nail to prevent their members from being taken. The cryptids were smart enough to use the numbers to their advantage and instead of fighting inside the ship, they simply crowded the place and attempted to drag everyone outside.

Medusa, as always, proved to be way stronger than her rank as she displayed her martial arts skills in front of everyone.

More than fighting, it seemed as though she was dancing while using the horrid creatures as stepping stones, her kicks so strong she demolished some of the nightflyiers in the air, but after a short while it was clear to everyone they were fighting a losing battle as half of the team had disappeared into the dark skies.

"At this rate we’ll be left without a crew even before setting the course!" Nika shouted as she discharged her coil gun at a cryptid nearby causing it to fall limp on the ground but also a gaping hole in the ship’s hull that gave Uriel an idea.

"Geronimo!"
