The Pegasus resumed its travel across the Pacific ocean as its members wolfed down an incredible amount of fast food, freshly bought at the Mcdolan’s in the shipwreck. Monsters, hunters, strange animals, even ghosts wouldn’t have surprised them as much as finding the well known fast food chain resutaurant.

"I guehhs’ s’ tru’ wha’ they hay’" Nika spoke with her mouth completely stuffed with a burguer.

"Don’t you have any manners? Swallow before speaking." Uriel glared at the glutinous woman and she did what he asked, but didn’t miss the chance to mock him.

"If you tell me to swallow, I’ll swallow any day."

"Good grief Nika, we’re eating!" Medusa complained after putting down her patty.

"Take your mind out of the gutter, Missy, I didn’t mean it like that." Was what Nika said, but she was obviously lying.

Although Uriel didn’t particularly like when Nika acted so ’flirtatious’, now it served the purpose to remind him of another person that acted like that, Miss Charlie.

Because of the circumstances she was now aboard the ship, but she wasn’t an employee like Miss Dragonfang, nor was she a prisoner like Cassandra, she was something like a guest who was trusted enough to be allowed to roam the ship, but not enough to participate in their meetings.

"Guys, what do you think we should do with Charlie?" Uriel asked.

"You just found a McDolan’s in the middle of the ocean filled with hunters and instead of trying to find an explanation to that, you just worry about a woman who has nothing to do with us?" Nika glared at him, her tone was grave but no one could possibly take her seriously with all her face filled with ketchup.

"That’s not a mystery at all. Companies go wherever there’s clients. A few years ago that ship was refloated by some hunters to use as safe haven in the middle of the ocean and it became one of the most popular spots for fishermen with traits related to water.

What we need to do is figure out if we want to let Charlie in our company or if we should drop her off somewhere safe." In the fastest vote ever performed by the Dungeon Raiders board, Charlie was rejected as a member. Explore hidden tales at novelbuddy

She was weak compared to pretty much any heavenly rank and even some ascended, her combat experience wasn’t that impressive since she was too young and most of her career was spent as a professor. Though the true reason why they all refused to take her in was that she revealed too much skin and flirted with anything that moved, in other words, it was jealousy.

However, when Uriel tried to find the ranger professor, she was nowhere to be found.

After the incidents that led her to be ’invited’ into the zeppelin she faced a true dilemma. On one hand, Uriel and his friends saved her life from hybrids that wanted them dead or worse and she couldn’t be more grateful for that. On the other, she learned that Luna too was a cryptid and they were harboring her like it didn’t matter.

But it did matter, how could it not matter when so many people die gruesome deaths everyday because of cryptids. Even if Luna didn’t ask to be born as a hybrid, she wasn’t human and Charlie didn’t trust her not to betray everyone. She needed to do something, she needed to alert everyone that cryptids lived among humans, that hybrids existed and that the Dungeon Raiders were aligned with one of them.

Charlie heaved a sigh of relief as the Pegasus disappeared at a distance while she remained on the shipwreck in hopes of finding her way home.

Days passed one after the other as the zeppelin was surrounded by nothing but blue and the eventual happy little cloud. The ocean truly honored its name and it provided everyone with a much deserved peace.

According to Medusa’s calculations, they should be arriving at their destination at some point during the day, but that didn’t stop them from making the most of their free time before that happened.

Luna stayed inside her room furthering her research about cryptids and hybrids, making theories and compiling the tales of every member of the dungeon raiders. It was a lot of work, but she was certain that some of that information could prove to be useful in the future. Meanwhile, Uriel was dragged along with Medusa by Nika, who somehow convinced them both to take a sun bath with her.

Regrettably, Sam had to stay in the bridge since he was the only one able to spot the small island in the immensity of the ocean.

"Even if it’s free right now, sunbathing is something only the wealthiest people can afford inside megacities." Nika pointed out as she took a sip directly from a beer can.

"T-that’s not true! I-I’ve never done something like this before." Medusa stuttered as she shyly stepped inside the private lounge reserved only for the higher ups in their company. It possessed a huge picture window that let the sunlight in without the bothersome wind and a bar filled with alcohol as per Nika’s insistence.

"Geez, just come and have a seat," Nika patted the folding chair next to her and then continued speaking. "how awesome would it be to have a pool or a jacuzzi by the window?"

Not wanting to spend a dime on such trivial things, Uriel pretended to be deaf and focused solely on receiving the gentle beams of light that brushed his skin until he eventually dozed off to the soothing voice of the girls by his side.

It was a dreamed scenario where a young man rose from the bottom of the slums in the outskirts of a megacity to the highest eschelon of a thriving company. Now, he was able to take sunbaths whenever he wanted with beautiful girls by his side, he was able to eat whatever expensive or luxurious meals he wanted and go anywhere he wanted in the world.

But he did not expect what followed once he opened his eyes.
