What used to be a vibrant place that represented the peak of technology before the arrival, was now a rundown building only someone with a knack for archaeology or history would recognize. There were absolutely no traces of its past glory, the beautiful polished wood floor of the past was now a dark wood cracked mess, the sophisticated walls were merged into the wall of the east district.

Uriel walked inside the building tailed by both rowdy men, in spite of them being deathly afraid of that place, but Phlox decided not to tag along because she had no business in an old museum and she wanted to get up early to sell the flux orbs Uriel handed to her at the Cryptid Hunting agency.

"Are you sure it’s safe?" The skinny man asked.

"I’m hoping it’s not, but you guys are free to go if you want."

"No," The bald man replied putting up a brave act, though Uriel had a hard time believing it when he gulped down his saliva in fear, but the man continued. "I can’t even think of the possibility of letting you go to a dangerous place by yourself after you’ve been so generous with us."

Uriel was taken aback by his statement because all he did was offer a small sum as compensation for the information and he didn’t need or want them to tag along. However, the measly sum offered to them by Uriel was enough to buy not only their services, but their loyalty as well and he didn’t have it in him to send them away.

"Just be careful and if I tell you to run away, you do it without asking."

"You don’t think there’s cryptids in here, right?" The bald man asked, still pretending not to be scared.

"Don’t be silly, that’s one of the lies the government says to keep us locked up inside the city. That’s why no one has ever seen one."

"What nonsense is that? Cryptids are real, where do you think flux orbs come from?" Uriel looked at the skinny man who limited himself to shrug his shoulders.

Before advancing further inside the building Uriel bought three gas lanterns from his trait and handed one to both his companions. That way, they would be useful even if they didn’t possess any fighting capability and they would be able to find their way out if things went wrong.

Exploring the rooms of what used to be a museum brought Uriel mixed feelings. He liked that building because it was meant to be a place of culture and education, but seeing it empty filled his heart with sadness. When Uriel was younger, he dreamed of visiting a museum and would have given an arm and a leg for that opportunity.

Technically, this was his first visit to a museum, but it was nothing like he pictured it to be.

Empty, dark and silent. Those three words that should only ever be used together to depict a cementery, summed up perfectly what had become of the Houston Space Center.

Uriel was submerged in his own thoughts when the silence was shattered by an ear piercing high pitched scream that came out from the bald man.

"What is wrong with you!?" The skinny man asked.

"I think I saw something over there..." Needless to say, the bald man was beyond embarrassed by his uncharacteristic scream and feared they would make fun of him, but Uriel was on high alert and placed a finger over his lips to shush them.

While spotting a cryptid in the dark wasn’t necessarily impossible for a regular human, Uriel thought it strange that his mystical sense didn’t alert him of any nearby creatures. He closed his eyes and focused on the presences around him and was both relieved and puzzled when nothing showed up.

He walked toward the direction where the bald man thought he saw the creature, only to find a strange rock lying in the ground.

"Is this a meteorite?" He muttered as he was about to pick it up, when a message popped up.

[System notice] Unknown material detected.

Store it in the museum [Y/N]?

"Yes." He muttered and then he visited his museum to check it.

Although the meteorite used to be showcased in the Houston Space Center, it wasn’t stored in the pre apocaliptic era exhibition but in the pre diluvian one. Uriel questioned himself about that, but as usual the answer came from the sign at the foot of the pedestal like usual.

[Starmetal ore] A strange rock that came from outer space. It’s composition could never be analyzed because it is not made of molecules. It’s origin is unknown and was believed to be a proof of alien life. It was discovered by an infamous archaeologist.

[Passive] When stored in the museum it provides a medium boost to the flux attribute.

Uriel gasped in amazement and was thrown off of his museum after losing focus. Accessing his trait didn’t cost him any flux energy, but it put a mental strain on him when he was distracted and he was so excited he was unable to go back inside his trait. Because of that, he pulled his smartphone outside in order to check his stats and what he saw left him even more puzzled.

"Holy grail!" Uriel shouted, triggering yet another high pitched scream from the bald man but Uriel completely ignored him.

It had been so long since the last time he checked his attributes that he had no clue as to how strong he had become. It wasn’t like back then when he had nothing to compare his stats with because he’d seen Sam’s stats and now he was certain that he was a lot stronger than Sam was back then.

The total sum of Sam’s attributes was 41 and Uriel’s now was 50, without even counting the bonuses he got from his artifacts.

Uriel’s original plan was to maybe kill a couple cryptids and help his new friends to acquire a trait, but he exited the museum with a smile nonetheless.
