CHAPTER 384

Listening to his mother, Liu Xueyi calmed his breathing. He understood their hurt clearly but he wished they understood his too.

He hated any confrontation with his father as well. He had been trained to be respectful and unlike his cousin, he was well-mannered.

His grandparents sat without making any form of utterance about the matter.

In the corner of the room too, Lin Xiao Xin kept mute but the pained look in those innocent eyes of hers made Liu Xueyi's heart clench.

He did hurt them, didn't he?

He unclenched his fists by his side and exhaled slowly. His lashes fell in rhythm with his chest as the once pent-up anger began to fade away.

Everyone watched with keen eyes, waiting for what was to happen next.

And when he reopened his eyes, breaths were ceased, body stiffened. The air he gave off sent chills everywhere.

Liu Jialing knew he was trying so hard to let it go. The pain, the anger, the hurt and being a better person.

Wanting to urge him on, she patted his back softly.

"Mum," Liu Xueyi finally spoke up and sighs fell out around him.

Ignoring them, Liu Jialing pressed her lips into a tight smile. "Yes, son? Speak freely, I am all ears," she urged him calmly.

"I'm sorry." Liu Jialing's eyes lit up hearing him say those words. It simply meant there was still hope in his rage.

He was a product of his father, a chip off the old block, inheriting the rage aspect in an even worse state.

"Grandpa, grandma, father and you too Xiao Xin, I sincerely apologize for my outburst earlier and most importantly, I apologize for hiding the truth about Ye Yuan's identity from everyone and even the blackmail. l that led to this."

He did not look at them directly. He felt ashamed for losing his cool even if he had every reason to.

His concern for Andromeda now grew bigger. His fear for her safety worsened. He had enemies in the entertainment industry but he was careful since no one knew much about him, remaining a mystery.

But this changed a lot of things.

Even with the apology, no one spoke. To tell the honest truth, they did not know what to say that would not yield output or make him angrier.

Liu Jialing shook her head at her family members. He did the needed but they sat down there not responding.

She pried her lips open to speak when Grandpa Houyi stood up with his gold and black coloured walking stick in front of him, acting as a supporting system.

"I do not care why you did what you did." Everyone whipped their head in his direction and then to Liu Xueyi.

They knew how he loved and honoured his grandfather and any wrong word would hurt him deeply.

To their surprise though, he uttered no word and held his grandfather's gaze.

"You have your reasons and unlike Jinchen, I would respect it. I have been a father too,. I know his rage better than anyone but his output was wrong."

Liu Jinchen scrunched his face. Even if he did not like how his father made him look like the villain, complaining was out of the question.

"However, he should have done better. I won't make an apology on his behalf. He can do so himself. A father and a son's relationship are very important."

"Father I..." Liu Houyi swept him with a cold menacing look, making him shut up immediately.

"Now," he brought his gaze back to Liu Xueyi, giving his grandson a half smile.

"You all can get mad and feel hurt, I understand but think from a different perspective. And while that hurts both parties, hasn't each of us here kept secrets from everyone? So why should his case be a sacrificial one?"

Liu Jinchen lowered his gaze. His father had a point but their own secrets or stuff weren't as affecting or this blowing, right? So he thought.

"That aside, rather than divide the family like a lunatic wish, I am more concerned about the scoundrel that choose to blackmail my favourite grandson."

Liu Xueyi's heart swelled listening to his grandfather defend him that way.

In this world he did not care if others stood by Jim, so long as he had Andromeda and his family's backing, as well as his best friends, then all was okay.

Even if they chose to sacrifice him, he wished for only Andromeda to stay by him seeing as she was the woman, he wished to spend the rest of his life with.

"Xueyi," Liu Houyi voiced mildly.

"Yes, grandfather."

"A name."

His mother lifted her brow when she noticed the hesitation from Liu Xueyi.

All he needed to say was two words or one and the Patriarch of the Liu family would have screams and cries roll out of people's lips.

So why was he hesitating? Who was this person who went against him? Who or what was he protecting?

"Xueyi," Liu Xiao Xin finally intervened. Something was up. They wished to know.

He blinked, shaking out of his stupor. "Grandfather."

"Give me a name."

"I have it all under control gramps. You do not need to bother yourself," he carefully explained. He had hoped his grandfather would disregard the matter and let him deal with the Sun family properly.

But seeing the dangerous glint in his eyes, Liu Xueyi knew it would be too much of a miracle if the old man listened now.

"Liu Xueyi," just like Liu Jinchen, when said his name in such a manner, it spelt something bad. "Do not make me repeat myself after this and do the needful."

He swallowed hard. It really was a pain.

"Gram..."

"You know better than to make him wait," Liu Zihan, his grandmother interrupted. "What are you hiding?"

"My anger. I wish to punish him myself."

"Why didn't you since when he blackmailed you?" Liu Jinchen inquired.

"I had my reasons and I investigated."

"What makes you vengeful?" Liu Huoyi finally asked the million-dollar question. "Exposing your secret is not the only problem is there?'

A loud gasp resounded behind him and when he looked, his mother's eyes looked ashen with shock.

"Don't tell me he is blackmailing you for more?"

"No. The unglorified fool kidnapped Andromeda. For that, he must pay."
