EndGame: The Successor's Legacy-Chapter 47: A Confusing Question?
As Calix returned to the box after battle, he exhaled slightly. His hand tracing the hilt of his sword lightly. A faint thought creased through his mind.
’Looks like even the young masters in this world are not just words. Well, they are still nobles I guess.’ Shaking his head lightly he turned.
However, just as he turned, he froze.
Amethyst met Crimson.
Calix stood still like a statue, as he found himself under the light but curious scrutiny of two crimson pupils.
Elowen SilverWillow stood in front of him...close far too close for his comfort.
Both watched each other, and for a moment he found himself appreciating the unprecedented beauty of her, of course not in any lecherous way.
As if, the creator had all the time in the world to create her and he put all of his heart into creating her...she looked picturesque.
’Damn, they really didn’t exaggerate, huh. Everybody here in this world is beautiful, but the main cast is almost something extraordinary. ...They are surreal.’
He looked at her snow hair, catching the soft light. Shimmering like a silver thread.
His gaze traced the way her long ears twitched lightly, the way her skin reflected the light of her and the way her eyes.
Something...truly uncommon in Elves, a blaring red, watched him just as carefully. Then with a light tilt of her head she finally spoke.
"What are you?" Her voice was light, soft and serene, as if sunlight had gently touched those words. Her words also gained the attention of the main cast, prompting them to move towards him.
Though, the one in question was confused by her words.
"Um...what?" He asked, not understanding what she meant.
"Are you human?" She said,
"Ah...I think so? Do I not look like one?" He replied with a slight tilt of his head.
"Yo, Elowen. What’s going on?" Theon asked as all of the main cast gathered towards them curious about what they were talking.
After all, it is...quite rare for Elowen to speak to a stranger.
Yet, Elowen ignored Thoen.
"Are you sure?" She asked once again.
"Undoubtedly, a human." Calix said with a light nod.
Thus, after listening to his answer...just as abruptly she had come to Calix, as abruptly she moved away.
"Um, what was that?" Calix said, frowning. He was truly confused by her behaviour.
’What did she feel?’ He mused lightly in his mind, his eyes narrowing just slightly.
"Don’t worry, she’s always like that...most of the time at least. Though I must say you are good, dude." Thoen said as he casually slid his hand around Calix’s neck, like the two of them had known each other for years.
"Thanks." Calix replied, already knowing about Theon’s outgoing personality.
"Yeah, I didn’t expect someone to have such good control over lightning." Vian commented.
"Haha, it’s nice to see a strong competitor this year, I must say." Adrian also commented, smiling lightly.
"Thank’s, I am excited for our duels." He said lightly.
"Heh, me too." Vian and Adrian said simultaneously.

Magic and steel clashed in brutal flurry as entrance duels continued one after another. Candidates, be it nobles or commoners pushed themselves hard, their blood and spells creating a spectral visage.
Soon, though, as the battles continued, the number of candidates dwindled down. Out of the 32 candidates only 10 remained. The brackets on the screen blinked up as they showed the next five duels to be held.
[Adrian vs Samuel]
[Vian vs Theon]
[Elowen vs Fiona]
[Elizabeth vs Zarux]
[Calix vs Lunive]
"Oh fuck." With an aggrieved tone, Theon sighed.
"Looks like someone’s gonna get his ass handed to him." Lunive spoke with a grin nudging Theon as she spoke.
His mouth twitched at her nudging.
"Oh yeah, I think someone should worry about themselves first." Theon retorted as he glanced at Calix, who was looking at the screen while standing a bit away from them.
"Heh, don’t worry about me. I am gonna win." Lunive smirked as she said.
"..." Calix, listening to their banter from the side, said nothing.
He was someone who believed more in action rather than words.
Of course, that doesn’t mean. He was underestimating Lunive. It was just that he believed that he could win.

[Adrian vs Samuel]
"Begin." The referee spoke as the duel started.
In front of Adrian stood a boy with blonde hair and green eyes. Just as the referee spoke Samuel didn’t waste even a single second.
His hand flicked towards Adrian, as tendrils of lightning wild and rash shot towards Adrian.
Adrian ever calm, didn’t so much as even flinch. His form vanished as he merged into the darkness around his shadow dodging the tendrils easily.
A second later, Adrian appeared from his shadow, his dagger aiming straight for Samuel’s neck.
Samuel’s eyes widened slightly as he instinctively backed away the blade phasing through where he stood a split moment ago.
Instantly, Samuel retaliated as his hand shot forward and an arrow of lightning, wild and violent, moved towards Adrain face.
Adrian tilted his head, dodging the attack easily. He shot forward in a blur, as he aimed straight for his opponent. Samuel once again tried to move away. However this time...
Just as he moved, chains made up of pure black darkness shot up, binding his leg in a crunching grasp. Pain shot up as he winced slightly.
However, his mind remained sharp even through the pain. As he saw the blade coming for his throat. Just as the blade was about to slash him.
A translucent blue mana barrier erupted forward, saving him just from an inch. The blade struck.
The barrier held, though only for a single moment as it shattered into pieces. However, that opening was enough for Sameul to move his head away from the blade.
Adrian however already, reading that fluidly transitioned his attack as his elbow shot straight towards Samuel’s head.
Binded, Samuel couldn’t dodge as the attack hit. His head jerked from the force, a whistle ringing in his head.
Adrian didn’t miss the chance, instantly he fist moved forward as he struck into his opponent’s chest. Air wheezed out of Samuel’s lungs as the punch hit him like a truck.
He fell on his knees, his breath coming short.
Smoothly, Adrian raised his blade towards Samuel’s neck. Just like that the duel was over.
"Winner- Adrian."
