Endless Debt-Chapter 981 - 68: Crossing Time and Space (3)
"Me? I still have value," Second Seat said, "You know that, and besides... you forced me to do this."
The Decay Plague had already enveloped the surroundings of the Stone Hall, rapidly corroding the rocks as if they had undergone centuries of weathering. Soon, these deadly mists would seep into the center of the Stone Hall, already encircling the few people like a tide.
"Oh? Then let him pour his rage onto me."
Mammon halted and kept a safe distance from Bologue, completely unfazed by Second Seat’s threats.
In the circles of Devils, competition was inherent. Mammon would not miss this chance to emerge victorious amidst the discord. He had been lurking for too long for this opportunity.
Since discovering the oddities of the Secret War, he had struck a deal with the Order Bureau. After helping them win the Secret War, he seized complete control of the Wandering Crossroads, transforming into a toxic ulcer growing within this deep Sea of Mist.
At this moment, the deadly toxin erupted.
Bologue looked at Mammon, then scanned the Silent Ones and Second Seat. This was truly a situation of despair. Considering Bologue’s strength as a Negative Power User, he had no chance of winning, not even a remote opportunity to escape, as the spreading Decay Plague engulfed the area.
"I’ve thought of many ways to contain you, Bologue. You will become my most prized collection, and also a bargaining chip to threaten Leviathan."
Mammon remained in place; he was merely an avatar, a proxy. The true executor was the Silent Ones, the Black Armored Soldiers striding decisively toward Bologue.
The radiant Ethereal Blades extended from the hands of the Silent Ones. Simultaneously, another piercing screech sounded. Bologue turned back, and from the darkness behind, another Ether reaction of a Defender Tier emerged, and then another Ethereal Blade lit up in the darkness.
Two Silent Ones surrounded Bologue from front and back, both possessing Ether intensity of the Defender Tier, like two prowling tigers, cutting off all paths for Bologue.
Bologue’s breath became still for a moment. Three Defenders, one injured, helpless Seeker of Glory—had he eliminated the King’s Shield Guard in one fell swoop?
Despite the dire situation, Bologue laughed to himself. Things were extremely perilous, though not unexpected. Surely, if one of the Silent Ones perished, the other would ascend to become a Seeker of Glory, against whom Bologue had no chance of victory.
"A collection, huh?"
Bologue stretched his neck; he was unconcerned about Mammon’s threats. As he said when he parted with Palmer, Bologue was already prepared with his escape route.
"I will remember this, Mammon."
Upon hearing Bologue’s words, Mammon scoffed, and the Silent Ones gradually closed in. Although Mammon could not directly interfere with the Material Realm, his Debtors could, which was precisely their purpose.
When tension reached its peak, a violent sharp whine erupted, and Bologue looked toward the outside of the Stone Hall. After successive Commands, countless cracks appeared in the entire Stone Hall, faintly revealing glimpses of the outside of Fog Abyss Fortress.
A glaring green light rose within the thick mist, a signal flare continuously ascending. The striking green light swept across every corner, flashed through Bologue’s eyes, and finally vanished above the mist.
Upon seeing this green light, Bologue’s tense heart finally relaxed, and he let out a long sigh. At this moment, he even had the capacity to joke with Mammon.
Bologue asked, "Do you know what that light represents?"
Without waiting for Mammon’s response, Bologue directly explained, "In the absence of an established Heart Core Net, we resort to these relatively primitive methods to exchange information."
The green light represented a successful operation, indicating that Church had safely evacuated from Fog Abyss Fortress, leaving Bologue with no worries.
"Well then... farewell, everyone."
Before the words had fully faded, Bologue’s own Ether surged to its peak. As Ether surged, the two Silent Ones had already launched their the attack.
Facing the full assault of the Defenders, Bologue had no room for avoidance. In an instant, two Ethereal Blades penetrated Bologue’s body from front and back, the savage Ether tearing flesh and shattering bones, copious amounts of blood spilling from Bologue’s mouth.
At this moment, Bologue suddenly burst into laughter; this was precisely the moment he’d been waiting for.
Secret Energy·Commanding Decree!
The spilled Ether transformed into countless serpents, voraciously devouring the Ether of the Silent Ones, like bolts of thunder. Though there was a Tier gap, relying on the targeting specificity of Infinite Sharpness, after a series of devouring, the resilient Ether began to crumble.
Numerous glowing dusts rose, forming a luminous vortex centered on Bologue, creating an incandescent storm, consuming all the scattered Ether.
Protection·Soul Sucking and Essence Stealing!
The Commanding Decree couldn’t break through the Defender’s Rectangular Soul Critical, but it was sufficient to bite into the Ether of the Silent Ones. Under the operation of Protection, the dispersing Ether reversed, flooding into Bologue’s body, further enhancing his own Ether Amount.
Bologue was both dying and resurrecting. As the Ethereal Blades pierced his flesh, he simultaneously plundered the Ether, feeding it back into himself.
The excessive Ether filled Bologue’s Alchemy Matrix, the surging power even caused it to overload, the light paths flickered, and stinging sparks erupted.
Bologue’s power reached its peak.
Hands gripping the Wrath Bite, using the strength of his Undying Body, Bologue forced himself into action, driving the pitch-black Blade into the ground.
Extremely lengthy time stepped into the next moment, and also as the next imminent instance approached, the storm-like Ether poured into the ground beneath Bologue, and in another instant, colossal intersecting Great Rifts spread throughout the Stone Hall. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"I command..."
Bologue pronounced the decree, the roaring tremors obscuring his voice.
Like a Giant Sword swung down by the Celestial God, the violent Ether smoothly pierced through the earth beneath, forming a neat void.
Bologue plunged into the void.
Countless rifts filled the void, collapsing, causing the entire Fog Abyss Fortress to shake violently, on the brink of collapse, as if at the edge of an apocalypse.
Beyond the shattered stone, the hazy, murky Sea of Mist appeared before him.
The destruction of the Stone Hall continued to spread; thick mist surged fiercely from the cracks in the shattered rocks, as the ground collapsed, plummeting. Amid infinite rubble, the Silent Ones tried to pursue Bologue, but Bologue, using his remaining power, crazily cast the Phantom Dagger toward the Sea of Mist.
Amid the encirclement of formidable foes, Bologue’s chances dwindled towards zero, but that didn’t imply he had no escape route.
Darting through rubble and mist, Bologue wasn’t keen on experiencing that ’suffocation’ again, but now it was his only path.
The figure accelerated, plummeting toward the Sea of Mist. The Silent Ones hesitated momentarily, ultimately abandoning the pursuit; they were well aware of what lay beneath the Sea of Mist.
First came the Ether vacuum built by the Serenity Defense Line, followed by insatiable Calamity of this world, not to mention, there was an entirely armed Order Bureau Task Force watching over it.
As the prison for sealing Calamity and blazing light, the Serenity Defense Line was enough to suppress most of the external enemies, including the Silent Ones.
"He planned it all from the start," the Silent One rare opened his mouth, "That’s why he was so brazen without fear."
No one expected Bologue to intentionally take the Defender’s strike, absorbing his enemies’ Ether to replenish himself, until unleashing power enough to pierce through the Stone Hall.
Mammon could only watch helplessly as Bologue escaped Fog Abyss Fortress, plummeting toward the Abandoned Land, until his silhouette vanished into the thick Sea of Mist.
A deathly silence enveloped the broken Stone Hall, with everyone experiencing a subtle feeling, as if they had been played.
