Enlightenment: Beginning as a Disposable Warrior-Chapter 87 - 79: Violent Child, Master and Disciple Reunited Advertisement
"To uphold justice and eliminate evil, that's what a true hero should do!"
Su Mu carried Insect Child out of Yaozi Village. He first reached out to strip him of all his possessions, finding the iron box hidden in his sleeve that contained Gu Insects.
The creepy, crawling Gu Insects would send shivers down an ordinary person's spine with just one glance, but Su Mu's eyes flashed with joy at the sight.
"Lead the way."
"Yes, I'll lead the way right away."
Insect Child panted heavily as he walked ahead, soon arriving at a secluded path leading into Black Bull Mountain. It had rained last night, and the mountain soil hadn't dried yet.
There were footprints on the path, small ones matching Insect Child's. Su Mu immediately knew that Insect Child had most likely come down the mountain via this path today; there were no tricks involved.
As they ascended the mountain, Su Mu noticed several abandoned wooden huts along Black Bull Mountain, some showing signs of recent habitation.
"A crafty rabbit has three burrows... most likely, this master-disciple duo has been staying in one of these huts recently."
Su Mu became even more cautious, watching all directions and listening attentively.
Soon, a particularly dense forest appeared before them. The sunlight barely pierced through the canopy, but when they emerged from the forest, their view opened up.
Not far ahead, several decent-sized wooden huts came into view.
But just as they exited the forest, Su Mu felt a faint pain in his chest. An itch spread from his chest, and his hands and feet began to feel cold. The Gu Insect nested near his heart seemed to be stirring awake.
Insect Child seemed to sense Su Mu's abnormality and immediately sprinted toward the huts, shouting repeatedly, "Master, save your disciple... Master, save me!"
Su Mu immediately took out a simulated antidote and swallowed it. He didn't attempt to capture Insect Child, just watched coldly as he escaped from his grasp, his stern face showing a hint of gravity.
Just before stepping out of the forest, he had vaguely heard a breathing sound, but it vanished once he exited the dense forest.
There was no movement inside the wooden huts ahead, just a few empty rooms.
Black Insect Elder must be hiding.
Sure enough, when Insect Child rushed into one of the huts, he didn't find his master and hurried out, but in his haste, his limp left arm's sleeve caught the wooden door.
Squeak-----
The dilapidated wooden door gave a groan under the strain.
And at that moment.
An alarming intent to kill suddenly emerged from the side—a swift, serpentine cold light sliced down. A hunched old man let out a faint 'huh', surprised that his near-certain fatal strike, expertly coordinated with his disciple, missed its mark.
A mountain breeze swept by, and the figure cleaved by the blade turned out to be just an afterimage.
The hunched old man's clouded eyes watched intently at a figure appearing as if by teleportation three meters away, clad in a raincoat and wielding a Zen Staff.
"A Zen Staff, are you from the Vajra Temple? No, who are you, and why do you harm my disciple?"
"Master, kill him; he's the assassin Li Fei..."
With his master now appeared, Insect Child's heart settled, and he spoke with venomous resentment. Yet, before he could utter the final word, a chill spread through him.
"Master, save me!"
Seeing the undisguised murderous intent in Su Mu's eyes, the hunched old man shouted in shock and rage, "Brat, dare you!"
Among the sounds of mountain sparrows, Su Mu's form expanded endlessly in Insect Child's eyes, casually throwing a fist.
Bang!
A head exploded like a watermelon.
"Save me..."
A headless corpse reached towards the hunched old man, collapsing lifelessly to the ground. Witnessing the tragic death of his beloved disciple, Black Insect Elder laughed with extreme anger, his voice chilly beyond compare.
"Very well, a path to paradise you refuse to take... yet you force your way into hell. I shall send you on your way!"
