Enslaved To The Alphas-Chapter 272: Breaking Apart
"How did you know?" Emira whispered the words as she stared at the three men in front of her.
Emira had meant to ask how they knew about the ring’s history when she had only just discovered it. Had they known about it all along? Had they seen the ring?
But to Lance, Kael, and Zen, her words sounded very different. To them, it felt as though she was asking how they had uncovered the truth that the ring had been given to her by her ’lover’. As though she was seeking confirmation that they already knew he was the one who had orchestrated everything—the one who had nearly killed both Zen and her in the process, just to break apart their mark.
At that, Kael stepped forward. Angry, he caught her hand suddenly, gripping it before she could pull away. Emira frowned as he lifted her hand between them, instinctively struggling and trying to make him let go.
"Stop struggling," Kael snapped harshly. "I’m not taking your precious ring."
The bite in his words made her freeze. He was truly angry. The only other time she had seen him like this was when he had dragged Alec away from her, back when the man had tried to... Emira shuddered at the thought of that past and stared at him worriedly. Why was he so angry?
Since they already knew about the ring, things should have been easier to explain, right? That was what she told herself. She could now explain about everything that the Dark Lord had told her. She could even tell them that he was indeed not the one behind everything but it was someone else.
And yet now, standing there under their gazes, she could barely find the words. How was she supposed to explain her feelings about Aron. How was she going to convince them that she was not being fooled by the dark lord?
And then she lost the chance altogether before she could say more.
In the next moment, Kael’s arm slid around her waist and pulled her close, leaving no space between them.
"You don’t carry our mark anymore," he said. "And instead, you’re wearing the Dark Master’s mark." His grip tightened slightly. "Is that it? Do you think you can be with him now? Do you belong to him, Emir?"
It was only then that Emira realized what was happening. They were misunderstanding everything.
She shook her head at once. "I don’t belong to—"
She never had the chance to finish.
As if afraid of hearing her deny them-afraid of the words she was about to say-Kael captured her mouth in a fierce, punishing kiss. Emira struggled, pushing against his chest, trying desperately to explain, but jealousy and fear had already driven them to the edge of their sanity.
She was given no room to speak. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Lance and Zen stepped closer, their voices low, overlapping, filled with possession and warning.
"You belong to us, little fire," Lance murmured.
"Mark or no mark," Zen finished quietly as he bent down to kiss the place where their mark had been .
Lance bent down, peppering little kisses over the name of her neck and Emira shivered for an entirely different reason. It didn’t matter what was unresolved between them. As long as she was with them, she was powerless with them.
Her thoughts blurred until there was nothing but sensation. Kael was still holding her hand and without fully realizing when she had decided it, Emira lifted her hand and clutched at him pulling him closer instead of away.
Their kiss deepened, slower now, more deliberate. Her earlier panic and confusion faded into a distant hum. Her mind emptied until only one thought remained. She could stay like this. With them. Forever.
At this thought something seemed to shift within her. She could feel her wolf purring and accepting. These were her mates. From this life and every past life. Just then, Zen’s teeth sank into one side of her neck, not deep enough to break her skin but hard enough to steal the breath from her lungs. At the same time, Lance bit down on the other side, near her shoulder.
Emira gasped, her body shuddering violently as her eyes flew open. They were marking her. Claiming her...
The world rushed back in all at once. And she blinked.
Kael pulled back just enough to bite her lower lip.The pressure made her whimper despite herself.
"Who do you belong to, Emira?" he asked, his voice low and rough, his forehead resting against hers.
The question cut through her like a blade. Of course she belonged to them... Her lips parted on instinct to answer the question.
But just as she was about to say it, she felt a burning sensation on her hand, that quickly spread to her heart. She gasped.
Emira sucked in a breath and looked down in shock. The ring on her finger was glowing faintly as if it were warning her to not speak recklessly.
She shook her head at the ring and then, was about to speak again, let them know that she belong to them, but before she could, a voice echoed in her head," You cannot tell them that you belong to them, Mira. Because you don’t. So, don’t make a promise that you cannot keep."
Emira stiffened. How did he get in her head...
Just as she was wondering then, she felt the loss of warmth from Kael, as he let go of her hand. "So, you cannot even take your eyes off the ring for even a moment?"
The words were clear but to her, they felt incoherent. "Where did you go before coming here, Emira?"
This time, it was Lance who questioned her from behind her. Emira turned her head. "I...didn’t mean to..."
"Where did you go?"
"I went to find Aron." Emira finally spoke.
The words seemed to send a strange stillness through the air as the three men stared at her...And it didn’t take long for Emira to understand why... She had called him Aron.. And all through the history, no one had ever dared to call him that... other than her and Shiqi... Once he had been named the Dark Master...
