Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 1: Are You Afraid of Me?
After five years of escape, returning to her homeland, memories flooded into Sienna Paxton’s mind like a tidal wave.
Silas Prescott knelt on one knee in front of her, his long, slender fingers stroking back and forth on her smooth skin.
His eyes were filled with intense possessiveness.
He chuckled playfully, "Sienna, after running so many times, do you really think you can escape my control?"
"Sienna, being so disobedient, how should I punish you?"
He gently poked Sienna’s stomach, "Then let your brother fill this up, okay?"
Sienna was utterly defenseless.
She could only cry and plead, "I was wrong, I won’t run again next time."
Silas leaned down, biting her lip, his eyes filled with deep lust.
"Sienna, do you love me?"
"I do."
Silas panted lightly, "Then show me how you love me, Sienna, you go ahead."
Recalling the nightmarish past, Sienna tightened her grip on the suitcase unconsciously.
Even though she had returned with a new face and a new identity, just thinking about that person, the fear in her heart was still the same.
But she had no choice but to come back.
The sick person was Grandpa Prescott, to whom she owed a debt of gratitude, and he had a brain tumor that needed urgent surgery.
And she was the only one who could perform this surgery.
Sienna exhaled lightly, gathered her thoughts, and walked out of the airport hall with her suitcase.
A black trench coat paired with a white shirt and casual, loose-fitting wide-leg pants, her whole appearance exuded efficiency and elegance from inside out.
The style was completely different from five years ago.
The obedient, sweet Sienna from four years ago, who let others manipulate her, had died as a Doctors Without Borders volunteer on the battlefield.
She was now called Chloe Nash.
A PhD from a top overseas medical university and a rare medical genius.
In terms of appearance, identity, and even her lifestyle habits, she had become a completely different person.
Silas Prescott could never recognize her.
With this confidence, Chloe’s steps became much more composed.
But just as she reached the entrance, she spotted a familiar and handsome face in the crowd waiting for arrivals.
The man, in a white shirt and black trousers, stood there with dignity and aloofness.
His gaze seemed calm but was as deep and distant as the tide, looking over at her.
Chloe’s heart sank, and her long fingers trembled slightly.
The shadow from five years ago made her instinctively want to grab her suitcase and leave quickly.
She quickly avoided the man’s gaze and walked briskly toward the door.
But after just a few steps, she heard a magnetic and pleasant voice from behind.
"Chloe?"
Chloe’s body stiffened, her breath halted.
Like a slow-motion scene from a movie, she slowly turned to look at Silas Prescott.
Five years had passed, and the man’s face, still cold and handsome, now had a touch of maturity and steadiness.
A high nose bridge, perfectly shaped lips, everything about him exuded nobility and elegance.
Yet no one knew that beneath this dignified face lurked a side of him that devoured everything.
Hearing that voice, Chloe broke out in a cold sweat.
Before coming, she had rehearsed countless times the scene of meeting Silas again.
But at that moment, all the rehearsals became utterly powerless.
Chloe did her best to hide her inner fear and sorrow, her voice clear and detached.
"Are you calling me?"
Silas took a step forward, holding a photo to compare with Chloe before nodding.
"Hello, Dr. Nash, I’m the patient’s family member, Silas Prescott."
He extended his hand politely, wearing a red string bracelet on his cold white wrist, which was completely incompatible with his identity.
Chloe’s heart tightened.
She didn’t shake hands with Silas Prescott, only nodded slightly and said, "Sorry, my hand is a bit dirty. Is there something wrong with the patient?"
Silas Prescott didn’t mind, withdrew his hand, and said, "The indicators are not very good. I want to take you to the hospital to see now."
He was polite and gentlemanly, and no one could see he had such a dark side.
Chloe quickly regained her composure and replied calmly, "Okay."
"Thank you for your hard work, Dr. Nash."
As the two were talking, a girl came running over with a pick-up sign: "Dr. Nash, I’m Lucy Rhodes, the sick old man is my grandpa. I didn’t expect the medical genius to be so young and beautiful."
After years apart, seeing an old friend again, Chloe’s eyes grew warm.
When she was fifteen, her only relative, her grandpa, passed away, and on his deathbed, he entrusted her to his comrade, Grandpa Prescott.
She followed Grandpa Prescott into the Prescott Family, carrying her embarrassment with her.
The days of living under someone else’s roof left her cautious and careful, not even daring to eat her fill.
Lucy Rhodes’s presence made her days a bit less miserable.
She often took her to watch Silas Prescott’s basketball games at university or see his drone performances.
Back then, Lucy often told her, "My brother is so handsome and excellent, he’s simply the most perfect man in the world."
And Sienna thought so too.
In her eyes, Silas Prescott was like a shining light, dazzling and bright.
He always managed to illuminate her world unintentionally.
But when she stepped into that light, what she felt was an extremely controlling side of him.
At first, she thought Silas Prescott loved her, only he used the wrong way.
Until one day, she overheard him talking with his friends.
"Sienna is like a sister you’ve watched grow up; have you fallen for her?"
Silas laughed lightly, "She’s just a little cat I’ve raised, obedient and soft, quite fun to play with."
That sentence made Sienna completely understand why Silas Prescott had such a strong sense of control over her.
It turned out he always considered her a toy for his amusement.
Since then, Sienna started escaping from Silas Prescott’s grasp time after time, only to be caught every time and severely punished.
In the end, she had no choice but to risk her life escaping to a war-torn area to become a Doctors Without Borders volunteer.
There, she escaped Silas’s capture but also lost the person she loved most in this lifetime.
Recalling these memories left a stinging pain in Chloe’s heart.
If not for Grandpa Prescott, she never wanted to return here again, nor see this person.
Chloe nodded toward Lucy Rhodes, "Miss Rhodes, you’re too kind. I’ve just had similar successful cases."
"That’s good, let’s hurry up and go. I’ll help you with your luggage."
Lucy Rhodes grabbed Chloe’s luggage and went to the car, opening the passenger door.
"Dr. Nash, I feel like we’ve known each other for ages—come sit in the passenger seat, let’s have a chat."
Silas Prescott stretched out his hand to stop her, "To ensure Grandpa’s surgery goes smoothly, Dr. Nash mustn’t face any danger. She’ll sit in the back with me."
Lucy Rhodes was quite curious.
Wasn’t her brother a germaphobe who didn’t allow anyone near him?
Why was Dr. Nash an exception?
She cheerfully opened the back door, "Alright then, Dr. Nash, please."
Chloe got into the car, sitting pressed against the door.
Her legs tightly together, both hands clenched into fists.
Her palms were damp.
She remembered clearly how, in the back of this car, she and Silas Prescott had shared countless frenzied moments.
The most heart-shaking was on that rainy night when Silas Prescott indulged with her in the car.
While outside, the senior pursuing her was being taught a lesson.
Silas glanced sideways at Chloe, "Why are you sitting so far away? Are you afraid of me?"
Chloe shook her head, "No, I haven’t been back for a while and wanted to look at the scenery."
Silas didn’t say anything more, lowering his head to handle documents on the computer.
No idea how much time had passed when the car suddenly swerved.
Chloe, who was leaning against the door, lost control and lunged towards Silas.
Silas quickly caught her by the arm.
Feeling her breath, touching her skin, Silas’s originally calm eyes suddenly lost control.
