Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 151: Sienna, Why Don’t You Trust Your Brother
Chloe had just left the mountaintop villa when she got a call from Jett Sterling.
She hurried to answer.
"Chloe, where did you just go? The shared location was off, and when I called, no one answered. Did something happen to you?"
Chloe couldn’t steady her emotions; even her voice trembled.
"Maybe there was no signal in the basement just now."
"What were you doing in the basement? What happened?"
"I’ll send you an address. Come pick me up. We’ll talk in person."
As soon as she hung up, Jett received the address Chloe sent him.
Wasn’t this address just two kilometers from where he was? Why did he get sidetracked earlier, following the shared location?
He didn’t have time to think further—he floored the gas pedal and sped off.
Less than five minutes later, he was there, picking up Chloe and leaving.
Silas, who stood upstairs watching everything, found his emotions gradually darkening.
He stared at the moving red dot on his watch, letting out a low, hoarse sound from his throat.
"Sienna, why is it that you can trust anyone but your brother?"
——
When Chloe and Jett returned to the Nash Family estate, and everyone heard her recount what happened, they all grew furious at Claire Channing’s actions.
Mrs. Nash gripped Chloe’s hand and said, "Now there’s a ’Sienna’ by Silas’s side. Does that mean he won’t keep pestering you?"
Chloe shook her head. "I don’t know who this person really is, or why she’s with Silas. I don’t dare act rashly."
Jett frowned. "With Silas’s intelligence, he wouldn’t be so easily deceived. I’m worried there’s something fishy here."
Caden Sinclair said, "Maybe Silas is just blinded by love. Whether it’s a scam or not, the important thing is that Chloe’s safe. There’s only a few days left before we head home. Once Julian’s condition stabilizes, we’ll all leave together—and for safety, let’s bring uncle and aunt along this time."
The appearance of this ’Sienna’ kept Chloe constantly uneasy.
She wanted to subtly ask Silas how he’d found this person, but she was afraid of exposing her identity.
That day, just as she entered the lab, a Prescott Group researcher said to her, "Dr. Nash, this month’s bonus is ten times usual."
Chloe was surprised. "Why so much?"
"Because our president found his first love. Now he spends every day with Miss Sienna Paxton. All company matters are handled by Assistant Paxton."
Chloe hadn’t seen Silas for several days, not even during Julian’s recovery sessions.
So he was accompanied by that fake Sienna all along.
And yet she couldn’t shake her worry, fearing Silas would be deceived.
After work, she drove to the Prescott family’s old mansion.
Julian saw her and instantly ran over with his short little legs.
"Mommy, the butler made your favorite dishes today. I saved something delicious for you too!"
Seeing how thoughtful he was, Chloe felt a pang of guilt. She hugged him tightly.
Julian would need less than a month to finish treatment.
It was time for her to let go, to return to where she belonged.
But every time she thought of the day they’d part, her chest ached unbearably.
She kissed Julian’s forehead, smiling. "Thank you, sweetheart. Is Daddy home?"
Julian shook his head. "Daddy hasn’t been home for days."
Chloe sneered inside—so it was true: Silas had been at ’Sienna’s’ side all along.
Just then, a black sedan drove in.
Seeing it was Silas’s car, Julian immediately ran toward it.
He ran, calling out, "Daddy!"
He looked so excited.
Chloe’s heart throbbed with expectation too.
But when the car door opened, only Owen Paxton got out.
He ruffled Julian’s hair with a smile. "Young master, your father’s busy today and can’t come home. He asked me to bring you a cake."
Owen pulled a cake from the car and nodded at Chloe. "Dr. Nash, President Prescott knew you’d come, so he had this cake custom made for you. Enjoy dinner!"
Chloe accepted the cake, hesitated for a few seconds, then asked, "What’s President Prescott so busy with? Why doesn’t he even come for Julian’s treatment?"
Owen scratched his head, looking awkward. "How could we as subordinates know what’s on the president’s mind?"
"Has he been with ’Miss Sienna Paxton’ this whole time?"
"Yes. It’s been five years apart—they probably have a lot to say. President Prescott hasn’t come into work lately; he’s just stayed in his villa with Miss Sienna Paxton. His long-cherished wish has come true. I’m happy for him."
Silas’s villa—wasn’t that the marital home Grandpa Prescott prepared for him?
He’d never brought outsiders there.
Now he let that fake Sienna stay there? Did he really believe she was Sienna?
At that thought, Chloe pressed further, "Sienna’s been gone for five years—how did you find her?"
Owen replied, "We actually have Mrs. Sterling to thank. If she hadn’t exposed Miss Sienna Paxton online, she never would’ve come forward."
"It’s been years since you’ve seen her. Didn’t President Prescott look into her background? What if she’s an impostor?"
Owen smiled. "Thank you for reminding me, Dr. Nash. I questioned it too, but President Prescott said he could tell just by instinct that she’s Miss Sienna Paxton."
Instinct, huh.
He used to say Chloe had Sienna’s scent.
Now he’d accepted a fake Sienna just by a feeling.
Chloe wanted to warn him again, but she was afraid of revealing too much.
All she could do was force herself to say, "Let’s hope his instinct isn’t wrong."
Far away in another villa, Silas heard these words, and a mocking smile played at his lips.
"Sienna, are you really just going to ignore your brother?"
Just to keep her identity secret, even knowing this Sienna was fake, she refused to step forward and expose her.
Did she really only care about returning home to reunite with her husband, unconcerned with his fate?
Chloe increased the frequency of Julian’s treatments, taking him to various parent-child activities to help with his recovery.
Seeing Julian get better day by day, Chloe felt both joy and reluctance.
To spend more time with him, Chloe moved with him into Sienna Paxton’s old apartment.
Life passed in its scheduled rhythm. Silas seemed fully convinced this woman was Sienna; he rarely appeared before Chloe anymore.
Other than doting on that woman, he did nothing out of line.
That finally eased the tension Chloe had been carrying all this time.
If having a Sienna stand-in by Silas’s side could break his obsession with her, perhaps this was the best outcome.
One day, while Chloe cooked in the kitchen, Julian sat alone on the couch watching TV.
When she carried the food out, she didn’t see the child anywhere.
Thinking he’d gone to the bathroom, she called in that direction,
"Julian, dinnertime! I made your favorite tomato shrimp."
She called several times but heard no response; she searched each room.
At last, she found the study door slightly ajar.
The study had been kept locked since they moved in. How did Julian get in?
Chloe called inside, "Julian, why did you come in here? If Daddy finds out, he’ll scold you."
Julian toddled over to her side, pointing at the opposite wall. "There are so many mommies over there."
